Graco 4Ever DLX

Had to emergency install it this morning as my husband accidentally took our other car seat base on a work trip. I feel confident about the install but not the fit. To me, his head looks slumped much farther forward than in our other car seat. When I recline him into the “1” position (he is 11 weeks old) the bubble in the level does not fall within the correct position when on a flat surface.

What would be better?

My LO is currently 7 weeks old. I’m making around 21-24oz of milk per day which is an undersupply (he is eating close to 30). I go back to work at the end of October and will have to cut my pumps because I work in patient care and just won’t be able to pump every two hours at work. I’m currently pumping 6-7x per day, getting back to work I imagine I will manage 4-5. Would it be better to provide baby with less breast milk now so I can freeze half and give him breast milk for longer? Or just continue giving him as much as I make now. I’m unsure how much breast milk babies need per day to actually get the benefits!

Why does my MOTN pump have the worst output?

I’m 5 weeks PP. I’ve been really working to increase my supply, but it’s really all over the place. I only pump once through the night just because my sleep is very precious at this time lol. I pump at around 2am. I was under the impression that prolactin should be highest around this time, so I should get more output. But it seems to be my worst pump of the day! My final pump before bed I get anywhere from 4-6oz total. Sometimes in the night I barely get 3 total.

I don’t understand my dog sometimes

We’ve been working on leash reactivity with other dogs, strollers, cats, etc. she’s been doing pretty good with the high value treats! We just have to catch the arousal before she gets really riled up. I do not understand her thoughts around people though. She is very sweet with all our neighbors and greets them happily, lays on her back to have her belly pet, etc. same with all family. However randomly she acts almost afraid of certain people.

For example, we were at my neighbors house and her parents stopped over. My dog barked and howled at them and really wouldn’t get close enough to them for them to pet her. Similarly, our across the street neighbor (who we rarely socialize with and had never met her) crossed the street to say hi to us today while my dog was on her tie out and she barked, howled, didn’t want to really get near her, etc. But then my husband is walking her later and she sees a couple she has never met and greets them happily, lets them rub her belly, etc. I really don’t understand what it could be about certain people or situations?

How long did you workout for?

I’m 29+1 today and wondering how long everyone managed to continue a workout routine. I kept my normal 5ish day a week gym routine with lots of walking up until 20 weeks. I started having a ton of Braxton hicks then and was terrified of preterm labor so I basically totally rested outside of like walks for 2 weeks and then started mostly doing light weighted Pilates and walking. The last 3ish weeks I’ve been back to more structured workouts (usually madfit on YouTube) with my bands, ankle weights, and #5 and #10 dumbbells. I’m actually feeling really great right now so I’m wondering how long I can keep this up for!

Anxious with new baby coming

To preface, we do have a behaviorist coming in but wanted tips from others as well.

My spaniel just turned 2. For the last 6 months she’s been fairly leash reactive (usually to bikes, other dogs, occasionally people). She barks and pulls and also barks out the window at people. If she has met the dog she is totally fine and wants to say hi and is very submissive (rolls onto her back). She is also great with people she has met but barks at people she doesn’t know. She had interacted with kids (my niece who is 1.5, my neighbor kids who are 4 and 6, other random kids) and she is good with them but has poor boundaries. She is extremely excitable. I personally due not think her reactivity is due to fear or anger but more so due to excitement and dislike of being restrained from what she wants to get to. She does not resource guard (I can play with her food, take her bone away, etc.)

For the above reasons, I am not SUPER worried about her hurting a baby intentionally but I do worry about her level of excitability and understanding a baby. Does anyone have any advice or tips to prepare her?

Advice needed!!

Hi all,
Sorry this will be long-ish. My dog just turned two (female spayed English cocker spaniel). Up until she was about 15-16 months she loved everyone and everything. Now, she is a bit on leash reactive (things like other dogs she has never met before, people she has not met, bikes). She has never reacted aggressively towards a human other than barking when being restrained from them. We are already working on her reactivity with a trainer.

Today, she was tied out in the yard and the Amazon delivery driver came. Instead of going up our driveway, he walked through the yard. She was barking at him and I told him she was tied up. He decided to reach his hand out to her. From my point of view, she was jumping to get at him to say hello and was barking so her teeth may have caught him. He said “oh you might want to grab her, she nipped me a little”. My husband immediately grabbed her and the guy was like “oh it’s fine just wanted you to know” he didn’t have an injury or anything like that and he left.

Now I have two worries..

  1. He’s going to report this to Amazon and say it was a bite of some sort and our dog will be labeled as aggressive.

  2. I genuinely don’t think she intentionally nipped at him but still obviously her teeth possibly got him in some way. We will no longer have her out when delivery drivers come of course but if she did genuinely nip at him, I don’t want that to happen again when meeting new people. I consulted a behaviorist who is coming to meet with us about the reactivity but in the mean time how can we work on her behavior with meeting new people? Again she has never nipped at or made any attempt to do so ever with anyone BUT she does greet extremely excitedly (jumping, barking, etc) which I also don’t want her to do as it can frighten people.

Cold feet about finalizing name!!

I’m almost 29 weeks pregnant and my husband and I basically thought we had finalized our babies name months ago. We’ve been calling him Jasper (full name Jasper James) for forever but now as the time is approaching it feels so hard to say it is final 😅 I would love to order some cute nursery decor with his name but idk why it’s so dang hard to just finalize it and close the book.

I don’t understand what caused the reactivity..

My female (spayed) field English cocker spaniel is about to turn 2. She’s always been a little bit of a wild woman on the leash due to excitement but within the last few months she has become SO reactive to other dogs. Dogs she met when she was a puppy in our neighborhood are totally fine, she goes to daycare and is fully fine off leash, but unfamiliar dogs walking through our neighborhood cause a full freak out. She is similar with things like bikes or strollers. She loves people. We socialized her as a puppy and I thought we did the right things but walks are so challenging now if she sees an unfamiliar dog. I genuinely don’t know if it’s excitement, fear, curiosity, or what. We have started work with a trainer and are having a behaviorist come assess her but I feel so horrible like we did something wrong to cause this.

I’m a FTM and that is a very stressful experience because you have zero clue what to expect. I am 25 weeks now and wanted to drop a little list of every symptom or thing that scared me but ended up being totally fine/normal. A big disclaimer though, always ask your doctor!!!

I found out at 3 weeks and 2 days so I’ve had a lot of time so far to worry lol.

Week 3-4: constantly testing because I was convinced my line wasn’t getting darker. Fully convinced I was having a chemical pregnancy.

Around 6-9 weeks: Zero nausea and basically zero symptoms. Was fully convinced that I was going to lose the baby just because I did not have symptoms. Whether you have symptoms or not is not a correlation of a healthy pregnancy!

Week 11: had the TINIEST bit of pink spotting for a day or two. Like only enough to be noticed when I wiped. Definitely thought it was a miscarriage. Turns out, your cervix is a lot more irritable during pregnancy. I was totally fine. Even bright red bleeding does not always mean you are having a loss (subchorionic hematoma)

Weeks probably 6-16: I had period-like cramping on and off for basically my whole first trimester and into the second. They never got as severe as period cramps but I was having them multiple times a day and they were uncomfortable enough for me to want to sit down. Also fine, sign of your uterus stretching.

Week 18-20: Horrible heavy feeling in my pelvis like I was carrying around a bowling ball. Literally felt like I was going to explode at the end of the day and the baby was going to fall out. Messaged OB, likely due to babies positioning, got into pelvic floor PT to help.

Week 21: Had “lighting crotch” on and off so far but had a horrible day of almost constant lighting crotch and round ligament pain. Felt like I could feel the baby moving INSIDE my vagina. Messaged OB AGAIN, likely due to baby kicking my cervix. Only lasted about a day!

Week 21-current: Constant Braxton hicks. Terrified of preterm labor, they tell me to go to L&D. Get hooked up to the monitors which are picking up my contractions! Turns out I have an “irritable uterus” and likely will continue to contract like this the rest of my pregnancy. They are not causing cervical changes and are not rhythmic or painful, just very annoying.

That’s it so far but hoping this helps some other FTM feel less panicky over symptoms!

I have had the same dasher twice. I work on the second floor of a medical office building but there isn’t a whole bunch of offices in this building so it’s super easy to find. The first time he delivered, he left my stuff in the elevator. I happened to run into him trying to find his way out of the building on my way to get it and he said “I can’t be here, I hate hospitals, my mom was abused in one so I have trauma”. Okaaaay but we aren’t a hospital lol it literally doesn’t even look like a hospital at all… then a month later I order DoorDash again for lunch. This time, he leaves my order barely inside the front sliding door of the building and just leaves. I look and it’s the same damn guy. Can he see where he is delivering to? If so, stop picking up my damn order if you have so much trauma you can’t walk to the second floor of an office building to drop it off.
