I'm currently reading #116 Abby and the Best Kid Ever. Something about it feels off, doesn't "sound" like Abby, isn't hooking me, is trying to do too much (it has 3 plots). There was also a chapter that tried to have an emotional Claudia moment remembering Mimi, but it felt kind of off to me. I'm struggling to finish it tbh, it is written so... wooden? Idk.

I also feel like #122 Kristy in Charge was weird in this way. And #84 is weird in every way possible. The Super Specials often have a bit of weirdness to them, but I give them more leeway. #111 Stacey's Secret Friend is also like this in an uncomfortable way. I do think a lot of the later books have this "off" vibe.

Weird can mean anything to you. OOC, doesn't feel like BSC, you finish it and think "wtf," it could also mean funny weird and not necessarily uncomfortable weird.

I re read the whole series starting back in 2022 mostly on Kindle. All the mysteries, super mysteries, portraits, super specials, and FF were on there, and almost all the main series, except this book for some bizarre reason.

I just noticed it recommended and went ahead and added it.

Unsure if this will help anyone, really, but it was always odd to me that this random book wasn't on there.

Part of the appeal of the BSC is how close the girls are, even though they're very different. I do think some of them are way more alike than Chapter 2 leads us to believe.

Kristy and Abby are definitely candidates. Both into sports, both tomboyish (Abby is never described this way, but she absolutely is, I actually think she is more of a tomboy than Kristy), both lost a father (but for very different reasons), both competitive to a fault, probably other things I'm not thinking of.

But, Kristy loves animals and Abby seems indifferent (fair, due to allergies). Abby seems a LOT more relaxed about things than Kristy. Their families are different. I get the feeling that Abby is afraid to be close to people, while Kristy is clingy. So they are actually less alike than I think people say. Abby doesn't "sound" like Kristy at all in her books (not talking about allergy speak either). It's kind of like, they're very similar on the surface level, but not so much temperamentally.

I've always thought Mallory and Mary Anne have a lot in common. Both shy (Mallory is actually described this way. Just less so than Mary Anne for sure), both like more introverted hobbies (and both big readers), both love animals, both are good students. And, lol, both got a makeover at some point in the series and the other girls didn't like it XD. I think these 2 are my pick.

Stacey and Shannon look the same (more so than Stacey and Dawn), both are overachievers and very into school, and while Stacey is described as sophisticated, I think Shannon actually is. I don't remember anything about Shannon being boy-crazy, though.

Unsure if people will like this post, I can talk about the BSC all day.

It's been a few months since I've played this file, but I know for a fact that he had Oblivious. I have not performed a single glitch in this game, I don't really play with glitches beyond gen 1.

The screen froze when I got into a wild battle and I had to reset. Unfortunately I think my 3DS is just old, because the game slot has been acting up lately. But that is the only odd thing that happened.

I got into a battle against a trainer with a Delcatty in Mt. Pyre. I was very surprised to see Attract work on him. I checked his stats after the battle and yes, he has Magma Armor. Legitimately, I have not performed any glitches in this game. Does anyone know why this would happen?

It's so hard for me to figure anything out nowadays. Everything is automated and it's impossible to ASK A HUMAN for help. And you get downvoted on reddit for asking for help.

Google is unreliable nowadays, especially with AI overview (frequently straight up wrong). There is so much information out there... including false information. I also just don't retain information at all anymore. I look something up and forget it 5 minutes later. Legitimately, I have to Google how to fix a flat tire on a bike every single time. Then look it up on YouTube. Then call a family member because I still can't figure it out. Everything is like that for me. I don't know why I'm so stupid.

I'm beginning to believe that I am the only person with this problem. Everyone else is a fucking genius who knows everything or can figure out everything with their phone. For some reason I can't. I'm the only one.

I had all these ideas for fun summer dishes, like spring rolls, salads (not lettuce-based, actually), salsa (LOTS of salsa), tomato sandwiches for days and tons of fruit etc. I was so excited and ready to become healthier (I've been putting on weight). Then there is a massive parasite outbreak and I'm freaked. I've been eating mainly frozen veggies, oranges, bananas, things like that. Stupidly, I don't actually

I'm sad and I miss produce. I do not drive, so going to farmer's markets isn't as accessible for me, and on my off days I am staying indoors as often as possible in this heat. Everyone acts like farmer's markets are just so easy for everyone to get to.

Has anyone just been buying produce from Winco? I normally get my produce from Walmart, but I feel like they're sketchy now? BTW I barely eat lettuce, so I don't care much about that. I mainly miss cukes, tomatoes, grapes, apples, sweet peppers, cilantro (one of the red flag things), and green onions (also a red flag).

I don't eat meat aside from fish, so right now food is just kind of a bummer.

I'm just sick of this, I've been stress eating and can't lose this weight. I straight up feel better when eating actual fresh produce and don't want to spend hours in the kitchen prepping, sanitizing, and heating up the house. I also do not have central AC. I've been chronically exhausted all summer too, so it's all I can do to just go to work and go home. I'm tired. I just want to be confident that I can buy veggies from Winco and that they'd safe to eat (without cooking).

Speaking of the cyclosporiasis outbreak in the U.S. BTW. And I don't have it afaik *knock on wood*

I LOVE fruits and vegetables, seriously, to the point where I would only eat them if I could. I also have contamination OCD, unsure how bad it is, tbh to me it just feels normal. I didn't eat meat for the longest time partially because of it as well.

I live in California, and I just for the life of me cannot figure out the situation here. Google sucks and the newest stuff is all social media. So as of right now, I'm eating low risk fruits (bananas and mandarins), frozen veg, canned veg, oatmeal, eggs, and carbs. This is the saddest freaking diet ever. I miss freshness. I want tomato on a veggie burger, I want fresh salsa, spring rolls, an apple, sweet peppers (my biggest craving, oddly), pre cut fruit, I want it all. I'm not even a really big salad person, actually I'm pretty sure lettuce is off the menu forever for me. But I'm sad.

I know this is stupid, but this absolutely tanked my mental health. I have no energy and I'm at the point where I might need time off work. I'm simply not eating as well or as much because food is unexciting.

My hair is falling out, I am weirdly achy a lot, lots of heartburn (weird), I s2g I woke up one morning tasting blood (or at least I thought it was blood, metallic). What the ACTUAL FUCK? And yes, I'm calling the doctor tomorrow, this isn't right.

Everyone online is saying it doesn't matter, we can just eat carbs and junk food. I legitimately cannot eat a lot of added sugar (natural sugar is totally fine for me, never noticed bad effects) or I get killer migraines. I can't eat a lot of high fat things because my stomach will hate me (to the point where I think I'll have cyclo). So I just fucking hate food right now. Every time I'm hungry, I'm like ugh, this again. And this makes me so sad, because normally I LOVE to eat, have a huge appetite, and am excited about food. Now food is unsafe. My favorite things are unsafe, UPFs make me sick, and I feel so sick anyway it's like should I just risk it?

Everyone also says to go to farmer's markets. I don't drive and don't really have reasonable access to one.

Will fruit and veg ever be safe to eat in the US ever again? I can't do this sad diet forever.

(BTW it's also going to be 106 F or higher for at least a week or two where I live. Not only do I not have the energy to cook, the kitchen is so hot that I have gotten heat exhaustion from chopping vegetables before. Not exaggerating)

If you think I'm stupid for being so sad about this, I don't blame you. I was extremely depressed before this outbreak, and food was my safe place, and now that's gone.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to bite the bullet and spend more on a bike. Please don't be mad, but I'm willing to spend up to $1500. I'll eventually be getting a car (as backup transport), so spending much above that isn't ideal.

I liked my Hiboy a lot, very comfortable bike, but they don't do well in the heat. My commute is currently quite short (under 3 miles), but I would also like to be able to travel around the city, running errands and stuff, and my commute might triple in the future (to be honest, due to health issues, I find it difficult to pedal a traditional bike even with my current short commute).

I'm looking for:

*A bike that is okay in the heat. Generally up to 105F. Can be locked outside without damage (I am not allowed to take my bike in my workplace). I basically need this bike to be durable in the heat for ~8 hours, maybe a little more. EDIT: I can take the battery itself indoors, just not the bike. So definitely needs a removable battery.

*mileage at least 25

*pedal assist optional! I really like this flexibility and I need to be more active, but on 100F+ days, I like the option to throttle only

*Headlights and taillights a must. So far, every ebike I have had was equipped with these, so I don't think it's a problem

*a heavy-duty basket or a spot where I can put a basket. I lock up my bike with my 15 lb Fahgettaboutit chain, so I need a place to put it, and would also like a place to put groceries.

*hate to admit this, but it can't be crazy heavy. Not over 55 lbs.

*a bike I can take to shops to repair

*flat resistant

As a bonus, I would love turn signals. Absolutely not mandatory, but I had an ebkarocy that had those and found them very helpful. I would get another ebkarocy, but it's hard to get them repaired and I don't fully trust the brand.

Do you recommend buying them only in person? I'm more or less ruling out Amazon, I loved my ebkarocy but it started getting really sketchy. I'm thinking they're cheap for a reason.

This question randomly popped up in my head today and I just had to ask. I'll throw in some ideas as well.

*First of all, the series would obviously be a lot shorter. I'm thinking 30-40 books. Perhaps the ending would be Richard and Sharon getting married.

*Dawn obviously wouldn't move back to California and Mallory wouldn't go to Riverbend

*No California Diaries or Mysteries, unfortunately

*I think Kristy and Bart would have become official.

Dawn on the Coast was the first ghostwritten book, and the next one is Jessi and the Superbrat. So ghosties were in the plans pretty early on. It's very possible a ton of earlier books would have been different or not happened at all if ghosties weren't a thing.

Tbh we probably also wouldn't have this sub or the ProBoards forum if the series was much shorter. It would be one of those hidden gem type of things.

I'm probably missing something obvious, but I would love to see what other people think.

I have played gens 1 and 2 so many times all the way through. Thought I knew all the mechanics.

Well, something new just happened. I was in the Radio Tower fighting Magnemite with my Furret. It used Thunder Wave. Furret used Dig. Then Magnemite used Supersonic and it hit Furret while underground?! I have never had this happen.

I looked it up and am only getting an answer with AI Overview (saying Supersonic can hit a semi-invulnerable Pokémon), but I don't trust it because it is frequently wrong. Has anyone had this happen? I'm thinking paralysis has something to do with it? Is it a glitch?

It was in Silver, not Crystal, but I doubt there's a difference in this mechanic.

I'm doing a low BST run (max 420) in Silver (there isn't a community for GS, unless I missed it). I banned Kadabra because it is just too good. But Haunter can't learn the punches (for some reason) and is very limited on moves. I'm going to give it Psychic once I get to Kanto, but for now, I'm brainstorming movesets in my mind.

It's level 23 right now and has: Hypnosis, Night Shade, Curse, and Spite. I have the Nightmare TM and am considering giving it that along with Curse so it has some reliable damage for awhile, then probably swapping Night Shade for Dream Eater. I'm unsure about bogging down its moveset with moves that rely on the opponent being asleep. I've never used this line much in gen 2 simply because of the lack of reliable Special damage. But I want to give it a shot this time.

(Idk what its Hidden Power is. I plan on testing it out to see, then resetting if it's a bad one)

So far, my team is: Furret, Sudowoodo, Vulpix, Azumarill, and Flaaffy (gonna keep it NFE obvs) along with Gastly. I like the team. I recognize the glaring Ground weakness, but Ground isn't a major threat in gen 2 so I think I'm good (and I plan on using Murkrow once I get to Kanto. I need a Dark-type).
