Local tomatoes had me picking up a few other things at Aldi and this is prob my fave sandwich I’ve ever made lol-
Aldi- toasted Ciabatta roll, mayo, sliced mozzarella, pre cooked bacon (I’m lazy), arugula dressed in Aldi fancy EVOO/balsamic/S+P.
Leeloo is mad I didn’t share some arugula, but she’ll get some w her dinner
Lemon Shortbread VS Lemon Cookie Thins- I’ve never tried either and I love all things lemon, so when they start the Alex’s lemonade products every year I get very excited.
Lemon shortbread- 10/10 - was not expecting a thinner cookie with an icing, but it was even better than I imagined! I love sweet, so the addition of the icing on the lemon cookie was really good, I could only eat a few from the sweetness tho. Which is a normal amount of cookies to eat at once…
Lemon Cookie Thins - 10/10 - I ate the whole bag. I made a huge, delicious, mistake. Yesterday, I opened these and was delighted to find a small, crispy lemon cookie with an excellent flavor and satisfying crunch. I ate a bunch, closed it up and put it next to my bed in my lil snack spot. I opened them again and ate more. Repeat. I fell asleep, woke up at 3am and finished the bag. It is now 630 and my tummy hurts 🤭 I’m a grown ass human. I did have half a gummy but cmon, the whole bag .. that’s excessive.
Conclusion - Can’t go wrong w all things lemon. The cookies were equally as good IMO, but also very different textures and overall flavor, so it would just depend on what cookie mood you’re in. The cookie thins were sweet, but more of a fresh sweet, the shortbread was more sugary sweet.
Thoughts? Fave cookie? Fave lemon item?
It was NASTY. I didn’t think to get a pic cos I just was riding the motivation that randomly popped up today. The bottom drawer had something spoil and leak under it, but the location made me not able to pull the drawer out cos the fridge door was in the way… I just left it. For MONTHS, maybe a year. Whatever it was grew and smelled and the one time I maneuvered under the drawer, I realized it was just an inch of solid nastiness. But I couldn’t wipe it up and had no idea how to even attempt to clean it , I just walked away . It became the thing I ignored like it would magically fix itself. The rest of the fridge got pretty gross too since I was kinda just ignoring it. I’ve been pretty sick over the last 2yrs, it’s been difficult living alone. I was considering hiring someone to come do it, it became that big of a thing in my head, just so overwhelming I was frozen. I’m sure you understand.
I don’t know why today was the day except that my chronic illness seems to be on the upswing finally after the last year of med changes n treatments. I was going to order my groceries this am, and told myself I just could NOT put anymore food in there until it’s cleaned. The smell had gotten so bad i would notice it right when I walked into the kitchen, not just when I opened the fridge door.
Some of the shelves are drying still, and the bottom drawer is still soaking in the tub BUT the top shelf is back in, fridge was only off for an hour, then I got everything back in and I had to use a spatula and literally chop and chip and scrape at the hard chunk of whatever at the bottom. But it’s finally clean. There was not a lot to save, expired condiments ect all got tossed. I’ll put it all back together tomorrow and celebrate by ordering my groceries. I even brought out 3 trash bags to the dumpsters.

I left 1 pint of Jeni’s and took the only other 2 from that section- I’ve been wanting to try the Berry Cornbread since I first saw it here and buttercream is my absolute fave on cakes, so I’m happy! I’ve had the churros and cream, it’s like literal heaven. I’ve never seen the bonbons! I tend to stick with anything caramel, so these intrigued me. Anyone have them?
I just ate half the bag and then ate one of those “crepes to go” and, oh look at that I’m getting my period for the first time in 7months 🤣 but OMG these are insanely good. I do like mushrooms and tend to like most things “truffle” so you have to enjoy that flavor, but I’ve never had butter chips? They are def creamier or something.. idk but I may eat the whole bag if I don’t hide them. 10/10

I’m broke as a joke so spending $7.99 on ice cream is a splurge. I’ve eyed this flavor from afar for too long and today it was on sale, a whole $1.60 off lol but it convinced me to grab it. It was just the right slightly softened when I got home and I couldn’t resist a bite before dinner. Wow! It’s so good! I read the description saying it uses more eggs and that’s why it’s called French ice cream, I can tell something’s is different. it just tastes richer and creamy and delicious. Like a vanilla but way better, Idk how to describe it other than I am super happy I finally got it and can’t wait to dig into it and get to the honeycomb. What’s everyone’s top Van Leeuwen ?
