I am looking for people who have received a Passport ticket in Wheaton IL at a commuter train station or a downtown location. The official city process and ordinance states that these tickets are issued by the Wheaton Police Department and all appeals are sent to the same department. This includes friends and associates who work with the issuing officer, and cannot be seen logically as a neutral decision maker when citing an appeal. There is no third party decision maker, there is no administrative hearing, and the next way to appeal is behind a $400 court filing fee.

This is in direct violation of the 14th amendment to due process of the law. In speaking with the mayor of Wheaton, the city manager, and city attorney, I was told that my concerns are valid and something should change, however the way things are today have been in place for a long time and all parking citation appeals are valid being handled by the same issuing party.

I already have an attorney who wants to hear this case, and wants to go after the city for fines that were collected under this process. If you have been affected by this policy, I would like to hear from you so we can grow our case.

My 2026 K5 GT seems to creak and squeak a lot from the dashboard, specifically the plastic trim in the front that wraps around the passenger seat and underneath the screen and gauge cluster. When I push down on it with some gentle pressure it creaks very loudly and it makes noise from normal heat expansion, going over bumps, etc.

Has anyone else had this issue or has a way to fix it? I don’t know if there’s an aftermarket part to make this soft touch or something less hollow to prevent this from happening but it’s really making my new car sound like an old beater.

Any help is appreciated!

I know Apple started this trend but I’m not putting up with it anymore. If you have a product that requires a charger or has a rechargeable battery and you don’t include a cable and power brick in the box, or any other complete way to charge the device, it’s getting returned and I’m not buying from that company anymore. I’m not spending more money to use the product after purchasing it, and it’s not up to me to provide what should be included already. It screams that you’re cheap and don’t care about anything other than money, and I’ll make sure you get none of mine.

I finally got accepted by Get Covered Illinois for my special enrollment period (loss of job) and income verification. All of the estimates adding in the same information as what was approved shows plans much cheaper than what is available to me now that everything is approved. This would change my premium monthly from $150 to over $450. It looks like my actual pricing on the approved side doesn’t have any tax credits where the estimated shows I will get a tax credit.

Has anyone else experienced this and know what is going on? Is this something I have to call them and have them apply the credit directly to the premium for, or is the estimate just way completely off? It’s literally 4x the cost so I’m hoping it’s a step that’s missing.

If anyone has experience with this, I’d love to hear from you.

Brand new 2026 K5 GT and I’m already hearing squeaking and rattles in this thing. One that’s particularly annoying is this high pitched squeaking whenever I go over a rough road or a bump. I can’t seem to locate where it’s coming from but it happens more in warm weather and is definitely somewhere on the drivers side near the vents or headliner.

Has anyone heard this noise before or found where it’s coming from? It’s really putting a damper on having a new car as it sounds even worse than my old one!

If anyone knows please let me know because the dealership can’t find where it’s coming from.

I’m going to start this by saying I’m aware the GT has a dual clutch transmission, but it’s still a very bad one at that and I don’t understand why Kia did this instead of a normal 8 speed. I can hear every downshift over the radio, it’s a grinding, unrefined sound every time the car goes down a gear and it’s very unsettling to hear. Not to mention the engine rattles and is so loud you can hear it in the cabin and over the radio also.

I get they’re trying to make it sporty but it’s a normal commuter car meant to sit in traffic and drive around town. I don’t get why they made this choice and why it sounds so loud and bad.

It’s a 300 HP FWD car. It doesn’t need a fancy transmission.

Makes me regret this car.

Lost my job two weeks ago and been trying to get coverage through this horrible excuse for a marketplace. They keep rejecting my final paycheck that shows my yearly income with no explanation, no comments, and nothing beyond “rejected”. I’ve had to call these bozos four times already, the first guy told me to contact Medicare (which I’m not on and never applied for - wrong information) and hung up, the second person told me they had no idea, the third person told me to upload my monthly pay stub, and the fourth had me fill out an explanation letter.

It’s very obvious from the document that I sent from my previous employer my total gross pay through the last pay date I was employed. I told them this, highlighted it, made sure the dollar amount matches, yet they keep rejecting it with no reason or explanation.

Same with the layoff letter. It clearly states my last date of employment and my last date of coverage. They reject that too. It couldn’t be any clearer.

And every time I resubmit it’s another 24-48 hours I don’t have health insurance.

These people, if you can call them that, are beyond a joke. They’re spreading misinformation, don’t know how to do their job, or apparently read a clearly worded letter or pay stub. The fact that Illinois thinks this is any sort of a good system is a complete joke.

But whatever, it’s not like healthcare is important or anything. I’m currently not producing value for a company, so I guess I’m useless and can go bankrupt or die in a gutter.

Horrible experience all around. Has anyone else gone through this? Has anyone actually successfully been able to purchase a plan?

Got my property tax bill today sent to my email. There are very clear instructions on how to pay them online, except when you click the link to pay the website is still set up for 2024 taxes, not 2025. Searching for my address or parcel number beings up my 2024 tax bill that shows it was paid, and any link to pay my bill beings me back to last year.

Why would our treasury department and county send out the tax bills with a link to pay them and then not bother to update the links to actually pay them? Wouldn't you think once you send a bill to hundreds of thousands of people, it should be ready to pay?

It's completely insane to me the level of incompetence these people have. Send a bill with no way to pay it... brilliant, way to go DuPage.

I added my “open to work” status today along with the green banner on my profile picture however I was not given the option to make a post that I’m open. Without this, nobody can share my profile for higher visibility.

How can I get this to show up? No matter what I try, I cannot get it to ask me to create a post.

This is highly annoying.

Lost my job on Friday and took the weekend off like nothing ever happened. Today I got set up with unemployment, healthcare, tailored four separate resumes with the help of AI and ATS checkers, set myself open to work on LinkedIn, and applied to seven jobs.

I wish I was still employed at the end of the day but I’m strangely hopeful about this. I hated my job so I guess everything happens for a reason :)
