Madeline tosh sock yarn for the black variegated and random neon (yellow? green?) single ply merino no label.

I love a peasant heel.
DPNs 2.75mm bamboo
Gauge 30 stitches x 28 rows = 4”

With black, cast on deck of cards, 13 stitches per needle.
Knit two rounds, twisted 1x1 rib for 14 rounds (~1-1/2”).
Knit two rounds, then add neon and knit 1 round. Knit two rounds black, 1 round neon for 4 neon repeats. Then switch to 2 neon rounds and 1 black stripe for 4 neon repeats. Continue this pattern for sock 1, start with 2 neon rows for sock 2.

Knit for 25 rounds (~2-1/2”), add waste yarn for peasant heel. Continue knitting in pattern until ready toe start.

For 8” foot, knit 4” after heel before toe.

Toe 4321:
Decrease, then knit 4 rounds, decrease, then knit 3 rounds, decrease, then knit 2 rounds, decrease, then knit 1 round, decrease on each next 4 rounds. Graft closed.

Pick up heel and remove waste yarn. Pick up 1 extra side stitch on each needle for 14sts/needle. Knit 1 round then same as toe 4321.

Learning how to do TAAT colorwork sleeves. Tangled and tangled… and tangled.

I was having so much fun untangling, I decided to get a bag to separate the yarns. Wish me luck as I untangle and try again. 🫣

Yarn: Germantown DK by Kelbourne Woolens navy and cream colorways.

Neon Stripes

Black Yarn is Madeline Tosh sock Yarn, the neon is some random merino donated to me. Decided to stripe because the merino seems too fragile by itself. Will add the heel at waste yarn later.

Repotted - bloom pending!

My baby was blooming from May 13 till last one wilted July 27. I’ve been waiting for it to be done, so that I could repot her as she was getting kind of leggy. I finally repotted her on August 2, and today I noticed that she’s trying to bloom again!

Have you seen this guy on YouTube?

Make Thing With Hand has some really Wes Anderson type videos, and this one is one I’m trying to share to my family who is lawn obsessed.

Lincoln, the goodeat boi

I got my guy five years ago, and he has been the love of my life. Working from home, I’ve been able to spend a lot of time with him training. He’s well behaved and I’m very grateful.

Feeling Humbled, second place ribbon

I entered into my county fair for the first time ever, a pair of my first ever color, work socks. I decided to buy sock blockers, so I could show them off, previous years I had seen knit objects hanging on a wall. Unfortunately, and fortunately… I had a free vacation (yay!) and was unable to drop off my item during the regular scheduled time (boo!).

I was out of town during the judging, so I didn’t get to hear the comments made by the judges. But when I went to see my item at the fair, I was really disappointed to see I came in second to a pair of vanilla socks (photo 3). The person with the vanilla socks happen to be sitting in the area, and she told me “if we (knitter sitting by the booth) were here when you dropped it off, we would’ve told you to take it off the blockers. The reason why you came in second is because the blockers overstretched your socks and the holes are showing near the gusset. I really think you should have one first, but I understand their judgment.”

I was really humbled by this experience, it’s rude to complain about your prize when the person who won first is right next to you. But they were all very kind, and I look forward to participating and again next year!

TL;DR- don’t use sock blockers for “decorative hanging” not worth it.

Candy Cane Cocktail Rose Bush

My large 6yo rose bush had a baby and I transplanted it to a pot, it had its first flowers of its own and it’s the same as the original rose bush. I feel so blessed. Can’t wait to find a spot in my garden for this baby!!!

My baby is going to bloom while I’m gone 😭

My 5yo Candy Cane Cocktail rose bush had a baby, I transplanted into a container this early spring. It’s finally about to bloom right before my 5 day vacation. 🫠

Just got back from a trip and 2 days before another… I miss him already!

My baby spent three days with my mom, two days with me, and then he’s gonna spend five days with my neighbor. He’s so loving, I miss him already. 😍

Knitting in the airport and on a plane, first time traveling with a project.

I haven’t ever taken knitting to the airport, or on a plane. This will be my first time flying in about 12 years. Typically, I like to make hats and socks, but I don’t really feel like making a pair of socks right now. I’m working on my first color work sweater… but I’m terrified that they will take my needles and I’m gonna have to figure out how to pick up live stitches in two colors.

Any advice is appreciated! I’m flying in the US only, but I do have a layover so it’s like four flights technically.

Don’t be like me. Make a dang swatch. Unless you love frogging and practice … practice … pRaCtIcE 🤪

Yarn is Germantown DK by Kelebourne Woolens in steel and ivory. It’s going to be a steeked sweater and I need a lot of practice… obviously with gauge too. (I was aiming for 16” and I’m at 26-1/2”…)

Candy Cane Cocktail Roses

I can’t stop adoring my rose bush! I cut off a feeder root and planted it in a bucket, today it sprouted new growth! How lovely to get a second bush if it survives!

First attempt… not going well.

A friend of mine gave me a handmade sweater, well they thought it was handmade… It’s definitely llama or alpaca, it’s very soft and the yarn is pretty delicate. It seems like every row is tangled up into every other row, and the yarn just keeps breaking. I am so unhappy with this I just want to quit.

Witchcraft… folded hem on DPNs

Setting up for the folded hem always feels very Hellraiser, but I just love the results!

Where to watch episodes 840 - 1088? Netflix let me down

After finally convincing my boyfriend to watch the live action, I got back into the anime. Watched all of Zou and then was watching whole cake Island, all of a sudden it jumps to the egghead arc? Please halp. (Edit: watched Zou not Wano)
