How have you all managed periodic large expenses? Like a new car every 10 years, etc.
Trying to be conservative but when I run the Empower simulation (monte carlo using current asset allocations, which is diversified 90% stocks) it gives me 98% success rate with a spend that's around 4.5% annually and just adds large expenses as monthly expenses.
However our recurring expenses are closer to 3.5% and of course periodic big ticket items are more flexible.
Also is anyone considering possible social security cuts?
I was not even close. I do not even know how this turned into that lmao.
My guesses were all primarily chihuahua, she is 10 lbs! How! I did guess the shih-tzu lmao.
Her only health concern is mast cell tumor 😬
Anyway I'd like to introduce you to my pit bull Lily! Results at the end!
(our family pets are now Bean the 30 lb chihuahua and Lily the 10 lb pit bull)
This tiny girl with old man whiskers is Lily. She was owner surrendered to a local rescue with her sister, is about one year old and about 10-12 lbs.
She is just a tiny thing, her little head fits in my hand. Her tail curls and she's low shedding and coarse haired. She is shy and shuts down under stress but also playful and loves scratches (I wish I could give her a bath but her spay was last week!).
Her ears do full flop, half flop, or dobby ears. In another thread someone mentioned possible pit blood b/c she has a slight frontal furrow, that also seems common in spaniels but pit is so common in strays here, spaniel less so.
I assume chihuahua and I did assume poodle but having spent time with her I think shih-tzu seems likely? (curly tail, slight underbite). Or could be pug or anything really.
I am guessing she has at least 6 breeds and chihuahua, poodle, and shih-tzu are among them. (these are all common in small strays here in so cal).
Lily came home with us yesterday and is still a little shy. Before she came home I guessed poohuahua, but now that she's getting a little more comfortable and her tail isn't between her legs I realize it's curled. And there's a little underbite. So I was thinking shih-tzu but maybe pug?
She's about 10-12 lbs and the sweetest thing. Her ears are usually between floppy and half floppy but can go dobby ears if she's concerned. She has fuzzy paws and an old man moustache 😭 She's about 1.
Rescue called her a terrier, but I doubt it.
I have the Embark test but I'm gonna let her relax before I attack her with a mouth swab.
I've been on the hunt for a Subaru Impreza for my son, but for under $13k we are not really finding what we want (mid-miles, good condition, mechanically excellent).
We wanted him to have AWD because he's going to live in snow for the first time, and I found this Honda HRV. I know they were not well loved, but hear me out.
He currently drives a subcompact and actually loves it. Honda HRV is built on a Fit platform which we all know is phenomenal. One owner clean carfax car with a full lifetime of dealer service records.
Am I missing anything?
