Soundtrack Composer - Open For Work

Hey everyone! I'm Victor, a soundtrack composer. Most of my professional work has been in film and television, but for the past couple of years I've also been creating and scoring my own audio drama, The Eldritch Episodes

The show is taking a bit of a break at the moment while we prepare for a bigger project, and in the meantime I'd really love to score more audio dramas for other creators

I write original music around the story, whether that's atmospheric underscore, character themes, opening and closing themes, individual tracks, or a larger score that develops throughout a series

You can hear my soundtrack work here:
https://www.joaovictorvila.design/

And The Eldritch Episodes here:

I'm mainly looking for paid projects, but I know audio drama budgets can vary quite a bit, so I'm happy to talk about the scope and figure out something that makes sense for the project

If you're working on a show and looking for original music, feel free to DM me. I'd love to hear what you're making

[Paid €20] Looking for a French female vocalist for an acoustic song

Hi! I’m helping a friend from a recording studio in Spain find a French female vocalist for a song he is producing for a Galician singer-songwriter.

It’s a romantic acoustic track. The lyrics and melody are already written, so no songwriting is required.

It is a paid collaboration €20. You’ll need a microphone and the ability to send a clean vocal recording.

If interested, please DM me with a sample of your singing and your email.

[Paid €20] Looking for a French female vocalist

Hello everyone! A friend of mine at a recording studio in Spain is producing an album for a Galician singer-songwriter and asked me to help find a French female vocalist for one song.

It’s a romantic acoustic track. The lyrics and melody are already written, we just need someone who can record a clean vocal take.

Payment is €20.

Here is an example of the artist’s music:

[FOR HIRE] Composer for Horror, Thriller and Dark Fantasy Games

Hey everyone, I’m Victor. I’m a film and TV composer based in Spain. I recently finished work on a Netflix series and currently have room to take on a few paid projects.

The video above is my latest demo, a cue from an upcoming project.

My experience includes scoring short films, features, audio dramas, and independent productions, some of which have received awards.

I’m especially interested in horror, psychological thriller, mystery, dark fantasy, and other atmospheric or narrative-driven games.

On the game side, I’ve contributed original tracks to the A Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings III. I’m now looking to work more closely with indie developers, whether that means creating an individual track, music for a trailer, or a complete original score.

I also have a background in software development, so I’m comfortable communicating directly with developers.

You can hear more of my work here:

https://www.joaovictorvila.design/

If you think my style could fit your project, send me a DM here or contact me through the form on my website. A short description of the game, its current stage, approximate music needs, timeline, and budget range would be helpful.

Cheers!

Composer looking to score horror/thriller films

Hey everyone, I’m Victor.

I’m a film composer based in Spain. I recently finished working on a Netflix series, and I have a window right now where I can take on one or two indie projects before my schedule fills up again

I’d really like to use that window to connect with more indie filmmakers, especially people working on horror, thriller, mystery, psychological drama, or just weird atmospheric stuff. That’s the space I enjoy the most

I’ve scored shorts, features, audio dramas, and indie projects, and some of that work has been award-winning

I’m mainly looking for paid work, and I’m especially interested in projects that are already moving rather than something that might only start months from now. I’d love to jump into something fairly soon while I have this window

That said, if the project is cool and you’re an upcoming director working with a smaller budget, I’m open to talking about a reduced indie rate or figuring out what could work

You can hear some of my work here

https://www.joaovictorvila.design/

If you’re working on something in that space, feel free to send me a message here or reach out through the contact form on my website

How to Downmix in Reaper in a simple way?

I'm trying to batch downmix around 300 files from 7.1 back to stereo in REAPER, and I'm not sure whether I'm setting it up correctly

These files were originally stereo tracks for an audiovisual project. The mixer I was working with used multichannel panning and sent me back the tracks as 7.1 files. I'm trying to create a stereo version again based on this new mixed/edited version

Because there are hundreds of files, I'd like to use Render media items via master rather than process them one by one for the length

I set the master track to 8 channels, inserted ReaSurroundPan on the master, and configured it for a 7.1 input and stereo output. I also tried using a Waves downmix plugin with the same result

The thing that's confusing me is the metering. The master meter still shows activity on the other surround channels. If I insert a limiter or gain plugin on the master, the meter clearly responds to those effects, which makes me think I'm looking at a post-FX meter. Because of that, I expected ReaSurroundPan (or the Waves downmix plugin) to display signal on only two active channels (L/R), but it doesn't

My only guess is that channels 1-2 contain the correctly downmixed stereo signal while the remaining channels are simply passing through unchanged, so the meter is still showing activity on them. However, I haven't been able to find anything online that confirms if this is right. Or even if that's the best plugin to do this

At this point I'm pretty sure I'm misunderstanding something, but I can't figure out what. Is this expected behavior, or does it sound like I'm routing the downmix incorrectly? More importantly, what would be the simplest and safest way to batch downmix these files to stereo without losing information. it's the first time I'm having to do this myself

Thank you

What begins as an attempt to understand trauma slowly turns into something far worse, as the line between madness and revelation starts to collapse.
