Meal expenses with ALE homeowner insurance

I was in a hotel for 2 months and was told to save my food receipts for reimbursement. I understand that the reimbursement is only for the ADDITIONAL cost compared to what I spent on food before. However, my adjuster is now telling me they calculate the "before" as $150 per person per week. Wtf? I don't think I've ever in my life spent 150 on groceries for just myself. In fact, when I calculated my TAKE OUT expenses during the time in the hotel, it is very close and sometimes LESS than 150. Shouldn't that be a clue that 150 a person on groceries is way more than most people probably spend, if take out would be less? I purposely tried to not overspend and went to reasonable places for take out, but now I'm thinking I might as well have splurged since I'm not going to get any money back.

edit: I don't know if I'd be allowed to fight the 150 but I don't even know how I would prove what I spend on groceries typically since I'm the type to meal prep and freeze meals ahead. I use a lot from the freezer that I've purchased over time so I'm not buying for a week at a time.
