What’s the scariest thing people can say to you during promotion/outreach?

I’ll go first:

“Was this thing made by AI? God gave you a brain, use it properly.”

I can kinda understand now why normal users are getting tired of AI coding / vibe coding.

But the funny thing is… I’ve literally been a programmer for over ten years already?!

I built this for my nephew because every “plan” failed the moment life got messy. Looking for blunt dev feedback.

My nephew is a sales guy and basically lives out of suitcases. Client dinners, too much booze, zero sleep. The typical unhealthy routine.

I’m an old strength coach. For years I gave him training plans, and honestly every plan fell apart the second life got busy. It was frustrating for both of us.

Eventually it clicked. Standard training plans are just too rigid for people with messy lives. So I spent the last few months messing around with some code and built this thing called Dorsi.

It reacts to whatever’s going on that day.
If he’s in some random hotel with no gym, it switches him to a simple bodyweight session.
If he texts me saying he’s slammed and only has 15 minutes, it cuts everything down to a minimum dose so he still gets something done.
If he feels like total crap, hungover, bad sleep, low energy, it starts ridiculously easy just to get him moving. Most of the time he ends up doing more than he expected.

He’s been testing it for 2 months and he’s down 5kg. The weight is nice, but the real win is he didn’t quit after the first two weeks like he usually does.

The app is still a work in progress and the UI isn’t perfect, but I’m opening up the beta to a few more people. If it sounds like you, messy schedule, travel, inconsistent sleep, I’d love to hear what breaks and what feels off.

It’s currently iOS only.

Built this thing for my nephew who kept failing his training. He finally stuck with it for 2 months.

So my nephew is a sales guy and basically lives out of suitcases. Client dinners, too much booze, zero sleep. The typical "unhealthy sales guy" routine. I’m an old strength coach, but honestly every plan I ever gave him just fell apart the second his life got busy. It was pretty frustrating for both of us.

I eventually realized that standard training plans are just too rigid for people with messy lives. So I spent the last few months messing around with some code to build this thing called Dorsi.

I basically made it react to whatever’s going on with him that day. Like if he’s in some random hotel with no gym, I have the app just throw him a bodyweight session on the fly. Or if he texts me saying he’s slammed and only has 15 mins between meetings, it cuts everything down to a "minimum dose" just so he does something. I even added a mode for when he's feeling like total crap or hungover. It starts with something ridiculously easy just to get him moving, and usually he ends up doing the whole thing anyway.

He’s been testing it for 2 months and he’s actually down 5kg. The weight is cool, but I’m honestly just shocked he didn’t quit after the first two weeks like he usually does.

Anyway the app is still kind of a work in progress and the UI is definitely not perfect, but I'm looking for a few more people to try the beta and tell me what’s broken. It's free, and if you actually end up using it (like 5+ Apple Watch workouts), I'll just give you a lifetime "founder" account or whatever for free later on.

I’m honestly world class at negotiating with myself.

I’ll be traveling and the “gym” is a pair of 5 lb dumbbells and a treadmill that sounds like it’s dying. Or I land late, sleep like trash, and the next day I’m supposed to hit a big session. Sure.

Other days my calendar explodes and I’ve got 18 minutes before the next thing. Then I miss a few days and suddenly the hardest part isn’t training, it’s deciding how to restart without doing something stupid.

That “what do I do today” problem is what I built Dorsi for.

Dorsi is an Apple Watch first strength training app. It tries to keep the long term goal steady, but makes the daily plan flexible.

No gym, it gives you something you can actually do in a room.

No time, it gives you the bare minimum version so you still get a win.

Low energy, it deliberately starts easy so you can start at all.

Coming back after a gap, it helps you ease back in instead of trying to make up for everything.

It connects with Apple Health and Apple Watch, so I’m not manually copying stuff around. And if it suggests something dumb, you can override it.

Beta

It’s still early and the UI isn’t perfect. If you’re an Apple Watch user who keeps getting derailed by real life and you’re willing to tell me what’s confusing or broken, I’d love a few beta testers.

It’s free. If you log 5 or more workouts on Apple Watch during the trial, I’ll comp you a lifetime founder account as a thank you.
