I have a couple of a newer matte finished A2 and A1 pistol grips laying around and was wondering if hitting them with CLP will give them a that classic “shiny” finish you get on the USGI ones. If not then do you recommend any other methods besides purchasing the real deal online?
The “leak” (more of a weep) is coming from around the alternator on the front of the engine on the passenger side. Don’t think it’s the valve cover gasket because it’s my understanding those usually leak out of the bottom of the valve covers and mine aren’t (see 4th photo).
I’m thinking it might be a cam seal leak but i’m not sure. Water pump was replaced with the timing belt at 67k miles and i’m currently at 125k so the water pump should be good. Any ideas?
I’m trying to purchase a complete 14.7” p/w to 16” OAL upper and when I try to select the FFL to ship it to I get a warning letting me know it can’t be shipped due to PSA’s shipping restrictions to California. I reviewed PSA’s shipping restrictions page and it’s and it says “No complete upper receivers with a barrel less than 16 inches”, which this clearly isn’t.
Was there a change to PSA’s shipping policy to Cali i’m not aware of? Or is this just a glitch that I can bypass somehow? I’m aware of the recent January 1st law in California regarding barrels, uppers, and rifle kits but it’s my understanding that PSA should legally be allowed to ship this upper here.

I noticed a small leak coming around the front passenger side of the engine a few months ago. I’m wondering if it is a cam seal leak because the valve covers don’t appear to be leaking (see 3rd photo). However, there is a small amount near the front of the valve cover on the passenger side so I’m hoping it’s that.
From the little bit of research I’ve done I think it likely isn’t since the valve covers usually leak from the top and bottom of the cover and not from the front of the engine. I’ve been monitoring it and it hasn’t really gotten any worse since I first noticed it though. What do you all think the culprit is here?
