Some notes

Firstly, I understand now why the person who originally created the inspiration tamagotchi doesn’t sell these. They were so so incredibly difficult to place, it took multi hours and multiple attempts.
Secondly? Which do you like better- 3 kuchipatchi or 4?

I have to reopen it once more because I forgot a part that keeps the top closed. :c

Topper by oywotchi
However I couldn’t get their attachment working so I had to cut out and sand the entire inside and back wall so it fits the way it does. Then I glued it to an existing hinge. :c

Edit: linked store properly

3D printed some tiny kuchipatchi

For the inside of my tama paradise!!! They’re imperfect but i love them. Their father looks over them from his spot on the desk :o

Inspired by that popular kuchipatchi custom floating around.

Clear shell en route c:

Beginner - I have a few questions about my first project

Hi there!

This is my first project. Please be kind.

I have a few questions:

  1. This yarn (bendigo woollen mills prism in rainforest) indicates it needs 4mm hooks. However, I used 4.5mm hooks on the normal knit stitch up the top. How will this affect the garment when I block it? Will it be unusable/will there be huge wholes in the stitches?

  2. I was unsure how to fix the mistakes I made and opted to try and work out how to retrieve dropped stitches myself. In the process I either twisted the stitches, or didn’t weave them back into place/pick them back up correctly. Do you think this will be noticeable? Do you think it currently is? Do you leave your projects with mistakes like that sometimes? Seeing the mistakes when I get to that side is kind of disheartening because I’m a perfectionist, but this has taken me probably 3 days to do so I’m hesitant in restarting.

  3. Does the ribbing look weird to you? The knit stitch looks like it has a large gap in the middle. I used 3.5mm needles for this and was wondering if that maybe has contributed to it… or was it my tension?

Should I frog and start over?
Furthermore, do you have any advice for me?

Thank you!

I think I’m making a vest but it could change. I could also make a high necked shirt I guess.

Image context:

  1. Whole project
  2. Line of potentially twisted stitches
  3. Line of potentially twisted stitches
  4. 1 or 2 dropped stitches I tried picking up again

Instructure data breach

So our university data has been breached and they’re threatening to leak it by the 12th if Instructure (canvas) doesn’t do anything about it.

UON has the opportunity to prevent our specific institution’s data from landing in the hands of the public and I feel we should be vocal about this situation and the handling of our data/grades ect both in this breach and in the future.

I don’t believe they have root access to UoN systems so information may be “limited”, but private messaging between yourself and your teachers, passwords, your face/name/email addresses ect are all still incredibly personal information you did not consent to being in the hands of the general public. And we really have no choice in engaging with these systems which is kind of shitty. Our whole academic footprint is entrusted to external companies that often miss the mark re: information security.

Their fault can impact your employment opportunities, result in identity theft, medical disclosures ect that you did not consent to. They are holding our sensitive data and it seems to be just another Tuesday when this level of information is leaked.

This is just really unsettling and I think we should expect more from a university we spend thousands (probably millions on collectively) on each semester. It is a gross misuse of trust and funds and I believe UoN should not be absolved of the blame and should be taking action to secure our data.

Edit: misspelled a word rip
