Picked up my i4 from service and took the opportunity to spend time in the new X5. Fully loaded gray M sport package with individual gray leather.

Based on photos, going in I thought the exterior I could get used to but the interior was just too weird. My thoughts have reversed.

Interior: got in and the seats are VERY comfortable. Suede accents on the doors, dash, headliner looked and felt nice. The panoramic display actually looked good and being below the windshield gives you info without looking too far from the road. I thought the lack of a gauge cluster was a non-starter but wasn't terrible and no concerns of the steering wheel obstructing anything. Main screen was quick and worked well. Steering wheel looks weird but feels good. So overall I thought it all worked well but the overall interior look and vibe is a big departure away from luxury and toward tech. I'm split on it. It's nice but its just not a "classy" interior.

Exterior: i genuinely don't like it after seeing first hand. The grill is just terrible looking. The car had all the black trim but still didn't mask how fugly that grill is. The door winglets provide nothing. Weird looking and zero functional add. Rest of the exterior I can handle but I just dont think I can get past the front end.

Maybe I'm just too pragmatic. I've had an X5, currently drive a GLE53 and have been thinking Cayenne S or GTS for a while.

I enjoy punching the GLE and pushing into curves but honestly I don't come close to testing its limits. The same will be true of a Cayenne, but for about $50k more.

Do you feel the Cayenne is worth the crazy prices they're asking? Do you genuinely think you get something a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Rover can't give you for thousands less? If so, what is it?

Edit: you all say it's the best car ever but I think I need to figure that out for myself. Thinking I'll rent one and live with it for a few days as someone suggested

I have a GLE53 with 22" wheels and its almost new tire time.

Was wondering if putting on all-seasons made any sense (do they even make them in these sizes?). Thought a quieter ride and longer wear might be a good thing for road trips.

Or would that just look ridiculous? 😀 has anyone done it, and was it a good move?

Nittos are only about $1600 for a set...but are they any good?

2027 = New X5. New Q7. New GLE.

They're all new and intriguing. If you're going to buy a new 2027 fully loaded 6 cylinder trim (x40, Q7 base, GLE 450), where do you drop $90-100k?

I left out the Cayenne since a fully loaded version is in a different price bracket.

Anyone mount bass shakers on their seats? For my Seatcraft Rialtos I need to mount them to a 1" tube crossbar. The only mounts I find are custom 3D printed mounts on Etsy.

They look good but wondering if anyone can vouch for these or if these plastic mounts will fail due to vibrations.

Anyone take 1000+ mile road trips in a GTS? Looking for real feedback on comfort and quiet when cruising for long periods. Is it comfortable or does road noise get fatiguing after a while?

I know all the write-ups about horrible RR reliability and I've also read about lots of people with 160k miles on the odo with only standard maintenance. I've also read about certain generations having issues, while others are solid.

Here's my use case. I only drive cars under factory or CPO warranty and I only put about 7k miles per year on. So we're talking max 40k miles in 5 years

What I'd like to determine is this. If I buy a CPO 2025 or 2026 RRS SE Dynamic or P530 Autobiography with less than 10k miles, drive it 4 years, do oil changes at 5k miles, and put less than 50k miles on it total, what kind of reliability am I really looking at?

Better same or worse than: Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi ?? I6 or the BMW V8?

You might think 'who cares' if its under warranty but we will take 2-3 cross country road trips so reliability is still very important. I find the RRS super appealing but don't want a bad experience. BTW last 2 cars are an X5 and (current) GLE53, with zero issues.
