Hi everyone, I have an older Rocket R58 (I believe V2) with an intermittent brew-flow problem.

When I lift the brew lever, sometimes the pump runs but almost no water comes from the group and the brew pressure immediately goes to 10–12 bar. Sometimes it takes 3–5 attempts before the water starts flowing normally. It can also happen with no portafilter installed.

So far I’ve:

• Confirmed hot water and steam work normally.
• Removed and cleaned the shower screen, dispersion plate/screw and E61 mushroom.
• Found a large amount of scale/corrosion inside the mushroom and E61 group.
• Removed and cleaned the giclér/restrictor; the hole is visibly clear.
• Descaled/cleaned the parts and thoroughly flushed the machine.
• Lubricated the E61 lever/mechanism with food-safe silicone grease.

After cleaning, the machine initially worked perfectly for ~30 cycles. However, the problem eventually returned. At the moment, even a naked portafilter without a basket can result in very low flow and ~10 bar pressure.

When switching the lever off, water does come out through the 3-way valve, although sometimes there isn’t the usual strong “psss” sound.

I’m starting to suspect a sticking solenoid/valve or another restriction somewhere in the brew circuit, possibly caused by loose scale.

What would you check next? Is there a particular valve/restrictor/solenoid on the R58 V2 that is known to cause this behaviour?

• Cleaned the parts with descaler and Cafiza and flushed the machine thoroughly.
• Lubricated the E61 lever/mechanism with food-safe silicone grease.

After cleaning, the machine initially worked perfectly for ~30 cycles. With a blind basket it now builds pressure smoothly, but the problem eventually returns. At the moment, even with a naked portafilter without a basket, the flow can become very weak and pressure rises to ~10 bar.

byvam kusok od budovy kde ma krajsky sud justicnu pokladnicu ... kedze kazde rano vencim psa, nedalo mi nevsimnut si ze kazde rano presne o 7:00 pred vchodom zastavi neoznacene civilne auto, ziadne zvlastne SPZ ani oznacanie, zatrubi, otvori kufor ... z budovy vyjde pani, poda mu prazdnu tasku a vezme z kufra auta plnu tasku niecoho. Je to obycajna modra cestovna taska, taka cez rameno.

Chapem, ze s najvacsou pravdepodobnostou to budu nejake spisy, ale aj tak mi to pride sketchy. Neviete niekto objasnit, co je dovod takehoto postupu?
