Sick of Lenovo giving me lemons, looking for new laptop, what is the brand landscape these days? Canada, heavy gaming, no budget. Buying Advice

Budget: 6000 CAD

Country: Canada

Use Case: Gaming, FFXIV, Warframe, occasional triple A titles like Death Stranding, not looking to ultra everything. Preferred Specs: current gen (as of this posting) CPU and GPU and 32gb+ ram

Notes: Reposted with fixed formatting.

Hello, I am currently using a Legion Pro 7 16IRX8H(2023 model) and have had to send it in 3 times for warranty, issues with keyboard, full screen freeze with no BSOD or even an eventviewer log (Which suggests ANOTHER hardware issue) even while I was just on a discord video call while using youtube. Even the Motherboard got replaced last time from warranty and I am STILL sending it back in.

So I am pissed at Lenovo and I had heard that while they were held up as reliable, their computer quality has actually gotten worse, with 2023 (the year I made my purchase) just being unlucky as the most noticeable dip due to soldering issues.

I have gotten ASUS and MSI in the past, MSI I also had to send in repeatedly when my graphics card would just crap out. (Dipped from 90 FPS elden ring to 23, the disk speed refused to go above 300)

I honestly just play warframe and XIV most of the the time these days with the occasional new release and it is supremely frustrating when my laptop decides to choke and die on these low graphical load games (Or even just browsing!)

TL;DR my luck has been very bad when it comes to laptops and I am not certain what the landscape is like for laptop brands these days (Other than fucking expensive thanks to AI) but I have a mobile lifestyle and so I can't commit to a desktop.

Many thanks.

Microsoft account seems to be under attack, having trouble locating source.

So over the last week I have gotten a few one time request codes sent to my alternate email despite never requesting. Similarly if I log out of my account (say outlook or whichever) and try to log back in, I will get "This account has failed log in too many times" and be forced to attempt a log in via a onetime code to my alternates.

Also weirdly, I cannot access microsoft websites. all other websites work fine but trying to do anything to access anything that has microsoft.com in it, including account management results in a time out or extremely slow/sluggish loading as if it is being actively blocked by someone or something. Googling hasn't shown this to be any sort of behaviour that is commonly noted. Is this a virus?

Edit for additional info: On computer startup I see several black boxes open up and quickly shut, task manager has 20+ Console window host processes. It doesn't matter which browser I choose, I've tried resetting hosts file, flushing the DNS.

There should be no way for them to request a one time code to my alternate emails unless they knew them.

Legion i7 sent in for warranty, came back after a motherboard replacement, still has one issue I want to try to solve before sending it back in.

Hello, so I am experiencing instances of fuel screen freezes on games like warframe and ffxiv. The sound will go for a bit, then the sound will stop too. Game will then either white screen or crash. This seems to happen after about 3-4 hours of gameplay. I terminate the program either via Warframe's crash handler or the "End program" of windows

What is weird is that the process refuses to clear from the task manager, either XIV or Warframe and attempts to clear it from the task manager actually causes TASK MANAGER to freeze and become unresponsive.

My computer then continues in a very unstable state, discord or browsers will eventually freeze. Attempts to restart after this happens causes the computer to stay stuck at the "Shutting down" screen, clearly unable to end the warframe/ffxiv process and forces me to do the hold button to force shut down of death.

Anyone know what can cause this and how to fix? thank you
