"Low Lights" C64 OPL Version!! | FM Synthesis on the Commodore 64 with SFX Sound Expander!
Hey guys! If you are already a subscriber to my YT channel you may have checked out my recent (and officialy first) OPL2 chiptune "Low Lights" that I released some weeks ago. Since then Daniel Illgen (Insane), a great coder from the C64 demogroup Rabenauge reached out to me with the will to make a C64 conversion of the track using the 9 channel polyphony of the SFX Sound Expander. By that time I wasn't even sure this was possible. Since I am SID musician when it comes to C64 music I must have missed out on the OPL possibilities that this FM cartridge offers. The result really blew my mind! Enjoy!!

Here is my OPL2 (YM3812 chip) music contribution to the new DOS game "Astropatank". The game participates in the "DOS VGA+Adlib Jam 2026 (https://itch.io/jam/dos-vgaadlib-jam-2026-take-2/entries). Still it's a work in progress so updates will be available in the future! Turn on your 386/486/Pentium PCs and try it out!
FL Studio pitch bending issue with MIDI file export. Any solution yet?
Hello there!
I am adressing an issue with FL Studio in regards to the wrong pitch bending values in MIDI file import or export. This is an issue that have previously been posted before but I haven't found any clear answer yet. So basically whenever a MIDI file is imported in FL, the pitch bending values are shrunk down so much that doesn't make any impact to the song. This of course causes wrong notes to be heard. Also if you export a MIDI file from FL and played it back on old software (like Media Player of Windows 3.1) or some current software (Sekaiju 8.3, MIDI Editor 3.3 etc) the pitch bending is also wrong by the same amount. Not only that but the MIDI files sometimes play at the wrong BPM as well on all the above but play correctly on other apps. I 've haven't found so far any clear answer anywhere on how to overcome this inconsistent incompatibility. I am using FL Studio 20.
Any help is appreciated.

If you were kids in the 80s with a computer like the Commodore 64 or a video game console in the house, you might remember the feeling of joy when your homework was done and had some spare time to play a video game before bedtime. I translated that feeling and memory of mine into waveforms and I present it to you with the name "Playtime". Check it out!
