Frustrations of an entitled manual driver

Yes I am absolutely posting this because I’m a manual driver on his high horse.

Two things that automatic drivers do that I genuinely can’t wrap my head around.

  1. At a red light, why do you keep inching up every two seconds as if you are anticipating the light to change? Just creates this line of ‘false starts’ for everyone in line that can’t see if the light actually changed. I can’t imagine throwing my car into gear just to inch up then stopping again. Just stop your fucking car lmao.
  2. On highways, why do you chase down the car in front of you just to have to hit your brakes in order to keep a safe following distance? Why not just take your foot off the accelerator or leave a bigger buffer? Once again, just can’t imagine doing this I would have to downshift every time I get too close to someone.

Anyway that is all.

Edit: everyone getting offended and called out but not a single valid answer for either point. Carry on.

PSA - Please stop body blocking your VIP (Rudhelm, darkforest, falmire, Thayic, Tryan

I understand you are enthusiastic to defend your VIP by standing as close to them as possible to block incoming attacks/projectiles, but you are actually preventing them from using footwork and proper defense. Crowding them will only make it harder for them to survive.

Please give the VIP space to breathe. This is typically the lobbies strongest warrior and knows how to fight. You are much better off putting down banners and blockades, then forming a frontline away from the VIP. This is especially important on survival stages like Darkforest and Rudhelm so the VIP can maintain full sprint and stay mobile.

Betrayflip didn't do much for me :(

Man, big love to the homies and I'm so pumped they're making new music, but I can't help but be a little disappointed. Not really into the whole hip/hop aesthetic they went for. Some really cool standout moments on this album that feels really reminiscent of their older stuff like 'more than a glitch' giving serious homey vibes.

Idk. Just a big miss for me. I hope y'all are loving it though. Great day for the fans.

Looking for zero offset Alternatives to Hollowgram SL 27 Seatpost for supersixevo.

I have an older supersix evo, before they switched to the C1 40 Aero seat post shape. Does anyone know of any seat posts that can fit the older models?

I've seen some on aliexpress that should fit but I was curious if anyone knew of a more reputable brand.

Why does everyone speedrun the best maps in the game?

Just want to hear the people's perspective. Maps like Bridgetown, Thayic, coxwell, are all a slog and typically last the full duration of the game.

Falmire or darkforest? Attackers having a contest to see who can speedrun the map the fastest. Defenders see it and just roll over on their backs. Do you guys not like duking it out on the best maps? Is win/loss ratio in an unranked game that important?

Dueling tip #2 - Beating the endless counter war. Enter the feint to heavy

Back again with another tip, but first a disclaimer. I DO NOT claim to be the best duelist or the most knowledgeable player. I simply love this game and enjoy helping players who struggle to find good info.

Ever get into a fight with someone and it feels like you’re just trading counters endlessly and nothing budges? Enter the feint to heavy. This is the best offensive option in your arsenal for dealing the most amount of damage to your opponent. If you’re on a weapon like greatsword, messer, or battleaxe, your opponents brain will short circuit after hitting with just one heavy attack.

So how to ensure your feint to heavies will always land? Pay attention to how often your opponent is trying to counter your single (non feinted attacks). When you have your opponent conditioned, feint your single into a heavy and watch how they react.

If they try to counter your initial swing, accelerate the heavy feint to beat their early counter.

If they counter-feint to match your feinted attack, drag the heavy and you will beat their counter-feint.

Dueling tip: why you shouldn’t jab after being hit exhibit A.

Just putting this out there because I’ve seen the advice “jab more” and “jab after being hit” circulate a few times and it is really a bad habit, one that I myself am guilty of.

Biggest reason, once your opponent recognizes the habit, they are going to simply block it and accel a riposte (lightning fast) as seen twice in this clip.

Understanding the application of jabs is necessary to get the best mileage from them as they are very strong when used well. When you should be looking for jabs are primarily if your opponent feints a lot especially with slower weapons, as you can sneak in a jab between the feint. This is especially true if it’s a feint to heavy, or a dragged feint. You can also use jabs to beat telegraphed heavy drags.

Anyway hope this helps. I’m not some expert or anything because I have this habit as well. Just thought this was a great example to show how easy it is to punish jabs.

Long time user looking to quit. Seeking advice from people who have been through it.

Context - Been smoking essentially every single day for the past 15 years. Even as I'm writing this, I'm looking for all the coping mechanisms in my mind that I've used to justify heavy usage and avoiding putting it down. I'm a very active person, I have a job, I don't sit on my ass doing nothing for 7 hours straight after using. So, I've always kinda thought to myself, what's the point of quitting if it's not taking away anything from my life.

I guess the point of this post, is looking for a reason. It's been only 3 days so far and I'm noticing just how angry and irritated I get at every minor inconvenience. Truth is, I'm like that naturally and I desperately need a therapist, but smoking was my cope and that helped me get through that stuff. Every time I used it, I suddenly forgot why I was angry, and that's what kept me doing it every day.

So yeah. Every article I read online about ''the benefits of quitting'' seem to be targeted towards people who have had severe repercussions from daily use. I want to hear from those who quit and what benefits you got from it. I'm not expecting anything magic to happen, but I still feel like I need some motivation.

Veteran players; How much different is the game today compared to launch?

I'm interested in learning some chiv history. In particular, I would like to know how much different the game was on launch before all of the balance adjustments and patches. I know there were a few completely broken things on launch, like the ram skull being a 1shot throwable. Were there any weapons or tech that were absurdly overpowered before getting patched? Any damage numbers that were just way too high?

If you've been playing since launch or close to it, please share any stories you have of how you remember the game compared to how it plays today.

When you ask someone a 'yes' or 'no' question and they give you an entire monologue

''Hey did you leave the door unlocked when you left the house yesterday?''

''omg, I was running late for my appointment, and like I spilled coffee and I needed to clean it up. Then I realized my laundry wasn't done so I had to finish that first. Then my Mom called. I think she wanted to see if I ever finished my laundry and she reminded me so I'm good. Then I needed to make another coffee real quick. What was the question again?''

Phrase that people love to throw around as soon as someone starts debating the ethics and costs of a product. For example, people disagreeing with the cost of certain luxury fashion items, and you'll get a response like ''just say you're broke'', or ''just say you can't afford it''

Buddy, owning expensive stuff isn't an indicator of wealth. Tons of people live way above their means, and tons of people know how to be smart for their money and don't feel the need to spend on questionably overpriced consumer goods.
