28F voice call and maybe board games?

Anyone down for a voice call on Discord? I'm down to just share stories or we can play some board games too. I just don't want to sleep yet.

About me: from the Philippines, wfh, loves to try out new things and check out new places, have 3 cute cats, super independent, can carry the convo and can talk about most things.

About you: someone near my age, already working or doing further studies, can also carry convo and have stories to tell, would be great if you have a lot of interesting or niche hobbies you can share

Hmu with your age and favorite boardgame if you're interested!

Not cute but works

Posted here before and it rained for a whole month in my area and all their wooden stuff like their cat tree and and cat wheel grew mold on them so I had to throw them out. 😭 Opted for a metal shelf instead and stuck a scratchpad sticker on top and added rugs as their beds (they prefer them over cat beds).

Works well as storage and space saver for their small cat room and won't mold. It's also much wider so they have more space for window viewing compared to before. It's not as cute but at least it's easier to clean. Still have a long way to go to make their room better.

PS. Walls aren't dirty. They're stained. 🥲

Should I bring him to the vet?

Update: Vet finally replied and said to just keep an eye and we only need to come if still bleeding which has already stopped. But I have scheduled an appointment tomorrow morning anyways to get it cleaned and looked at. Thank you for the replies!

Cut his nails this morning but the nail trimmer was dull and split his nails instead. It didn't bleed at all and he had no reaction like flinching and let me cut the rest of his nails.

However, after 3h, I saw some blood droplets on the floor. I checked all of my cats and saw his bloody paw. I think the split nail bothered him and he tried chewing his nails, causing it to split further. It did stop bleeding after a while.

He seems okay and is not hiding, but I'm scared it will get infected. I've already changed their litter in the litterbox and threw the damn clippers away. Should I wait a few more days or should I rush him to the vet tomorrow morning?

He's been with me since he's a kitten and this is the first time I hurt their nails. It looks so bad though and I'm scared.

Just started meal prepping last month, finally filled my freezer! 🥹

I really wanted to have lots of variety in my meals para di nakakasawa. My area gets flooded a lot din, so I wanted to make sure I would have enough food lagi. I live alone and eat only 2x a day so this will probably last me a month or more!

Mains:

Ginataang kalabasa with sitaw and ground pork

Japanese chicken curry

Pork shanghai

Ramen/hotpot/kimchigae packs

Creamy garlic chicken with mushrooms

Munggo

Side dishes:

Chopsuey with tofu

Buttered mixed veggies

Buttered sayote and baby corn

Veggie stirfry in oyster sauce

I plan on cooking a meal or 2 every weekend na lang now that I have built my stocks up. I do have an inventory list and when I cooked them.

For my fridge, I would clean and chop some veggies like cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, and fruits for easy salads. I do this at the start of the week so I can just mix everything and add salad dressing throughout the week dahil nakakatamad magprep ng salad every time.

Show me your cats and their weird sleeping/lying down poses

My seal point loves to sleep in weird positions. He always looks drunk. My calico is usually pretty, but sometimes the sleep hits good. Hahaha. Lemme see them drunk and sleepy babies!

When to rush sneezing cat to the vet

My 1 year old cat started sneezing yesterday afternoon. At first I thought something just got into his nose because they were short, dry, and quick sneezes. However, he is still sneezing today. Everything else is normal. No eye or nasal discharge, bright eyes, no mouth breathing, playful behavior, has appetite, etc. He didn't sneeze while sleeping too, only when awake.

Not sure if it's allergies, but I didn't open any windows since yesterday and their air purifier has been on max since the move. My 2 other cats have no issues.

Normally, I would rush him to the vet right away. But we just moved houses last Sunday (3h travel time). I'm just worried that going to a new vet might stress him out more especially since it hasn't even been a week since we moved. He's very good with his carrier and when he's in the vet though. He doesn't like the travel, but not too bad. I just really want to make sure I don't stress him out more for nothing.

Important health history: He was diagnosed with moderate FCKS when he was a kitten by an orthopedic vet. We weren't able to correct it since it would require surgery and the vet did not recommend it either. Otherwise, he's healthy and completely vaccinated. My 2 other cats are also completely vaccinated.

My current plan is to observe him for another day or 2 unless he develops a new symptom. Should I stick with my plan or rush him to the vet now? Thank you!

Suggestions for cat room improvements

Just moved into a new place and I turned one of the rooms into a cat room. It's just their own safe space. Door will be open most of the day, except when I have to clean, etc. I'm not allowed to drill or put nails on the wall. Any ideas?

Have a lot of things going on in my life rn. Just want a stranger to talk to decompress. Not really looking to rant or vent, just someone to check with. Would love to listen to how you are, too.

Requirements: someone my age, working, can carry the convo too, down to actually call rn and not just chat

Best dad ever

Saw my meezer cuddling with his kitten and went to my gallery for more pics of him being the best dad ever. He was curious about his babies as soon as they were born. I was scared to introduce him at first since online says male cats can get aggressive with their kittens, but he was such a sweetheart and just guarded and sniffed them! I let him play with them heavily supervised when they were learning to walk confidently at 4 weeks and he was so gentle with them. He taught them how to play and groomed them religiously. He also cuddled with them lots. He made it so much easier to raise them and gave my momma cat breaks. He's such a gentle soul and I love him so much!

Important small items for new place you don't immediately think of when moving houses

Hello, I'm 27F and about to move out in a month. I've been living alone since the pandemic, but the condo I live in was owned by my aunt and was already completely furnished when we started college.

I already have a running list of the appliances and furniture that I need. But I need some suggestions on what else I need since I'll be moving to a proper apartment with an actual kitchen I'm going to cook in plus a laundry space. I outsource everything right now like takeouts everyday and weekly laundry services - even monthly cleaning services.

I just realized I need a lot of small things for a proper home that I didn't need before like pot holders, clothespins, emergency lights, command hooks, hose for the washing machine, etc. Things that you use in daily life, but don't immediately think of when writing down a moving houses list. Or if you have some house hacks, that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Update: thanks to all those who suggested! Am sharing my list for those who need one as well. But please keep in mind that this is for my personal use and I didn't make it as a general guide, but you can build off it!

Such a big boi already!!!

Peanut used to be the runt of the litter. Now, he's bigger than his dad at only 10 mos old! And yes, they are best buds!!!

P.S. Dad and mom are fixed and Peanut will be soon, too. 😺

Can I start switching 10 month old kitten to urinary care food?

Hello! I have 3 cats: an almost 2 yo female cat, an almost 2 yo male cat, and a 10 mo male kitten. They are all currently on Royal Canin Kitten food. I have a sealed 10 kg bag of RC Urinary Care (the prevention kind and not the medical kind) that is about to expire in September this year.

Can I start transitioning my 10 mo male kitten to the RC Urinary food as well? I am thinking of doing a very slow transition of 75/25 first 2 weeks then 50/50, 25/75, and 0/100 every 2 weeks. Or will it be detrimental to him?

All are at a healthy weight and no issues based on last vet checkup early this year for their vaccines.

Thank you!

Left my cat to my cousin during my 1 mo vacation. Came home to this floofball.

SHE'S SO CHONKYYYY. She's still at a healthy weight and I can still feel her ribs thankfully, but I need to watch her diet the next few weeks lol. She's so stinking cute tho. 😭
