Portrait of summer main melody sounds similar, cant tell what it is

The main instrumental melody that is very present throughout the entire songs sounds like a fancier version of another melody i can very easily replay in my mind and i have a MASSIVE feelings its also from yorushika but i can't tell where its from

Certain vocals also reminded me of flower and badger game but thats not where the instrumental melody i mentioned is from

My favorite album is plagiarism but it could very easily be any yorushika song altho prob not second person but it might be

Which Suidakra & Insomnium album(-s) would you recommend to a primarily folk metal listener?

I'll be on the road for quite a bit soon and wanted to listen to one or two suidakra and insomnium albums. I don't tend to be a massive fan of melodic death metal when it isn't folk metal but for the songs i really love there's a few in flames, dark tranquility, one kalmah and one aephanemer MDM songs that i really love.

I'm a MAAAASSIVE fan of eluveitie and i also love alot of Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Furor Gallico and i like a bit of early atlas pain

My top 20 anime

Shadows house, ascendance of a bookworm, the promised neverland (s1), frieren, attack on titan, secrets of the silent witch, WItch Hat Atelier, Release that witch, death note, nippon sangoku, from the new world, code geass, vinland saga, erased, a silent voice, bocchi the rock, violet evergarden, the apothecary diaries, the twelve kingdoms, summertime rendering

This list ended up as a bit of a mess because of quality vs quantity differences on each show but here are some notes

- Top 3 is something i feel pretty confident in but is the biggest mess in terms of quality vs quantity fights for spots. I'd take SH over bookworm anime adaptation because of quality even though bookworm has more content (i think it's very inferior to LN) but also TPN S1 (s2 not included) is my fav season i'd take 2 SH seasons and 4 bookworm seasons over it because of quantity

- AOT is mostly that high due to quantity but also all of it is genuienly very great

- Silent Witch/WHA/RTW/NS are pretty short but are up there due to quality

- After from the new world the list is very messy. I watched Code Geass a long time ago so might need to put it lower.. Erased and A silent voice are pretty short so im not sure, Bocchi the rock/the apothecary diaries i watched a while ago so also not sure.

- Summertime rendering and the twelve kingdoms are up there but pretty mixed. The twelve kingdoms had one of the most goated arcs ever from 22nd/23rd/24th ep to 39th ep but the rest of it is definetely not up there. Summertimer rendering got significantly worse in second half but i still have to put it here because of the first half

Overall it's still a great list that represents my opinions quite well so i don't really care. But alot of spots from 12 to 20 could be adjusted if i give those shows rewatches.. but i don't feel like it

My skillet bracket! (But with handpicked songs and not "most popular"

alot of those are rough.. especially scream and never surrender on round 1 and my 2nd vs 3rd favorite skillet songs fighting on round 1 (awake and alive and whispers in the dark)

all songs that are here i ABSOLUTELY love!

My music cup!

Alot of rough choices. Losing something wicked round 1 and awaken vs so cold especially...

Also i usually don't move songs up in rankings due to songs im obsessed at the moment (which is in partly whats going on with failure) but damn it's just way too good

Rank these 9 female main characters in terms of enjoyability

Myne (Ascendance of a bookworm)

Emilico (Shadows House)

Emma (The Promised Neverland)

Frieren (Frieren Beyond Journey's End)

Coco (Witch Hat Atelier)

Monica Everett (Secrets of the silent witch)

Saki Watanabe (From the new world)

Riko (Made in Abyss)

Madoka Kaname (Madoka Magica)

in terms of enjoyability i would go Emilico -> Myne -> Coco -> Emma -> Monica -> Riko -> Saki -> Frieren -> Madoka though it's pretty hard for me

Need help with yorushika (song titles being japanese is confusing)

So, essentially, i am thinking of listening to yorushika discography soon. Alot of EPs and Singles are making it confusing but essentially when i do a discography run for a band i listen to stuff chronologically while taking turns with doing 1 album for the band i'm checking out the discography of with another random album not from that band. Thing is their first 1 or 2 albums have song titles just in japanese in youtube music and that is gonna be incredibly confusing because when i listen to an album i always rank the songs and that's just not gonna work with japanese titles. Not only will the ranking list not be complete but it'll be hard to memorize the songs i loved solely by the japanese titles. I only did that with deep indigo so far

Maybe there's like a playlist for albums with songs having both japanese and english titles? Which are still unedited yorushika tracks? Or maybe one of you can be generous enough to provide me english names for songs in tracklist order for first EP/a loser doesnt need an encore/thats why i gave up on music/potential other non album earlier singles?? Otherwise managing things is gonna be hell lol.

Also would be nice if anyone can make a little quick order for albums and eps (minus singles) but thats mostly just to confirm that i listen to the ep first then albums in order. It would also be nice if someone could make a list of all the non album singles because yorushika seems to have alot. I'm not planning to listen to all the non album singles chronologically though, i'll likely do it after listening to second person

Sorry that's a very big request and thanks for help in advance <3

Spring 2026 tierlist as someone who isn't at all a seasonal watcher

It's funny because i haven't been coming across very good non seasonal anime recently despite mostly watching it (mostly 6s, at times 7s and 8s) but everything seasonal i watched so far has been at worst a 9

bookworm really deserves more love NGL. Despite earlier part 3 LN being a bit weaker it's still just amazing. Can't wait for vol4 and 5 to be animated.

Glad to see NS, WHA, Rezero are getting the attention they deserve though

[P4V2] Volume tierlist, as of now

I will not be using a template as using one will give me a glance at the future covers which is spoilers and i wanna try to avoid spoilers as much as i can.

I've been LOVING bookworm so far so every volume was amazing but here are my picks. Rankings in tiers are ordered (highest = best in respective tier)

S tier

P4V2 -> Ditter was absolutely peak and the entire chapter expanded so much on a wide majority of Rozemyne's retainers which i already adore. Rozemyne's antics increased even further from p4v1 being even more ridiculous (which is a good thing)

P3V5 -> Jumpscared me with a mystery i had an enormous amount of fan theorizing into. Charlotte introduction I LOVE HER and convo during Wilfried fuckup was amazing

P3V4 -> Just generally very consistent volume + Georgine's arrival added quite alot of tension. We also got the manablade chapter which is generally the most positively ridiculous thing in bookworm thus far

P2V4 -> Very great at first but when nobles start going after Myne it becomes absolutely amazing with one of the most tense and well thought out fights i've seen ever

A+ tier

P3 V2 -> Another very consistent volume. All hasse things were amazing and the first collecting mission (which was failed) is still my favorite out of the bunch

P4 V1 -> Amazing and easily the best introduction volume. Alot of RM antics, rozemynes new amazing retainers and her plans are very satisfying to watch. Then you realise all of the crazy stuff shes done was only roughly 1 week 2 days -ish

P3 V3 -> Very consistent, alot of great moments and we got both schnestrum hunt and i think. IIRC that's also when we had goddesses bath but im not 100% sure

P1 V3 -> Amazing Conclusion volume, very consistent and fun and amazing conclusion to part 1 of the story

P1 V2 -> Very cozy and enjoyable volume, was awesome seeing Myne work towards getting paper done with. We also got to see her convo with Lutz which is still one of the most memorable moments out there

P2 V3 -> Not very memorable but definetely was very consistent. Ending stretch when they were ambushed was pretty dope

P2 V1 -> Amazing introduction to the temple, seeing Myne get along with her attendants and IIRC orphanage aswell.

A tier

P1V1 -> Amazing and cozy introduction to the story which really makes bookworm feel special. Watching Myne struggle is very fun

P2 V2 -> One of the least consistent volumes compared to the rest IMO that is nonetheless still consistent and fun. However the ending stretch with the knight order summon incident is still easily one of my favorite moments in the story

B+ tier

P3 V1 -> Good introduction volume, chill and fun, nothing specifically crazy happens but it sets the tone nicely for part 3

Dalriada - Táltosok álma (Heaviest dalriada track??)

I didnt expect Daldiada to go this heavy and the guitarwork / drumming is just crazy. Super catchy chorus and full harsh vocal verses. That intro is still my fav part of the song tho ngl

Especialy if you like a walesi bardok part 1 i recommend this!!

[Anime S4 E12] Does someone know whether there'll be a clean version of RM debut song?

I just really loved it but there's everyone's inner thoughts which make it hard to just listen to the song. Another reason is that i wanna show it to a friend who didnt yet read/watch bookworm but not only does the sub have people saying "rozemyne" but i guess it's just unpleasant when you wanna listen to a song

Maybe it'll release alongside S4 OSTs? If those are ever gonna get released..

[P3V5] Bookworm never fails to amaze me

I'm currently reading and i completed Bonifatius pov chapter after the main story so i still didn't complete the volume please no spoilers.. but damn..

One thing about bookworm is that almost all of my other favorite media have alot of amazing mysteries in plot twists. Bookworm isn't focused on mysteries/plot twists but still manages to be amazing & definetely onboard with all of my other favorite media.

Which is why i didn't expect to be hit with that mystery during p3v5. Which is who were the attackers, what were their intentions, how much information did they have, how related was Joisontak to grand scheme, why did the kidnappers chose the mana-dissolving potion over others, etc

I found myself completely invested in the mystery and i analyzed things alot somewhat in the middle of Boni POV chapter before there was alot more hints through Joisontak's words, boni conjectures, memories, etc etc. But something during the Boni POV might've still influenced my thoughts at the time, so it's not fully a guess just after the epilogue

Here's my thought process i written before i believe the chapter focused on the mystery far more :

  1. The kidnapping attempt (likely by georgine faction) is a "safe" attempt with low success chance, but they nonetheless hoped to succeed. They just highly played it safe, hence didn't at all go all out

  2. The goal was to capture Rozemyne, torture her, get information out of her, and make use of her mana

  3. The poison was given to her without planning to kill her, but rather to harden her mana, to boost her mana production for Ahrensbach. And also to reduce her resistance until she's delivered to wherever she was going to. Hence, they weren't aware of her already hardened mana

  4. The noble is hired by one of Georgine's lesser connections and is unrelated to Georgine faction, to prevent the info leaks after the memory search if he's captured. He wasn't told there's a high chance he'd die during the operation hence the term "deceived" could be applied to some extent

  5. One of Charlotte's attendants (likely) or guard knights (less likely) that knows of Rozemyne and Charlotte's relationship gave information to someone in Georgine faction. They acted on that accord and decided to capture charlotte to bait Rozemyne. Or capturing charlotte was sort of a side-quest and she would later be used for negotiations. An important note is that they didn't know Lessy could fly, hence i think it's not someone from Sylvesters like inner INNER circle

I believe i made that guess before Joisontak claimed he "only captured Charlotte", and as much as that man said a lot of absolute bullshit, i do think that was true, and so do the others, as it's basically confirmed he couldn't have ensnared Rozemyne.

Not my full thought process, but that's basically the initial guess before i continued reading. I also thought of why they used the potion that sorta hardens mana and if they were aware that could kill her. Potentially they even expected Rozemyne to be retrieved and their actual goal was hardening Rozemyne's mana, but i ultimately decided that it's more likely they weren't aware of Rozemyne's hardened mana and that using that potion would kill her, just like Rozemyne thought after drinking the potion

One of the most impressive things so far (which i didnt notice) is that Joisontak not knowing Lessy could fly actually hints at the fact that he is way less informed with the grand scheme of capturing Rozemyne then i thought he is (As i initially assumed that noble was told very few things)

If we assume the nobles knew how close rozemyne and charlotte are and intended to have Joisontak capture Charlotte in order to bait out Rozemyne, it would've been impossible for Joisontak to expect Rozemyne to follow him if he didn't know Lessy could fly. And if he didn't, that proves he wasn't aware Rozemyne was actually someone else's target and he was must likely just told to capture Charlotte

Another thing (Which i actually noticed before reading further) is that this attempt is weird. It doesn't at all sound like the kidnappers are going all out. If that's the case, they are most definetely gonna want to play it safe and not be exposed if Joisontak is captured and the memory-searching tool is used on him.

So, if they're playing it safe, they most definetely involved Joisontak in the case while giving him absolute minimum information about it, so that their schemes aren't exposed after the memory searching tool. That alone already hints Joisontak is only a pawn in the grand scheme

As i said earlier, theorizing was soooooooooooo damn fun. I might not be right but i think a LOT of things that i initially envisioned were hinted to be correct to some extent. Even if whenever i actually get answers to that i end up more wrong than i thought i am, i am very satisfied with my process and i think i caught onto alot of things :)

I hope bookworm has more mysteries like this but even if that's not the case bookworm is always peak so i'll likely take anything that happens later

Looking for extremely fast-paced mystery/mindgame packed action

I'm looking for something really specific here. To not beat around the bush, i'm looking something specifically similar to shadows house season 2's episodes 9 and 10 (The last lesson and the value of friends)

Really fast paced battles with multiple mindgame/outsmarts that also don't spoonfeed you information on the go and are unpredictable. Not just action with one or two plot twists/reveals, but both characters are always thinking and are genuienly intelligent

It also has to have high stakes and bonus points if the characters fighting don't actually want to fight each other, but have to, or they would both harmed even more by the outcome, alike to shadows house

Shows that you may recommend that i loved (mostly), but don't quite fit in this category :

The promised neverland : This is my favorite singular anime season, but it's more calm planning and towards the end it's more pre-planned giving protagonists an advantage and making it feel like antagonists barely have a fighting chance

Death note : I also love this show, but it didn't really fit because it's less "extremely fast paced" action and more slower (although at times pretty fast paced, but not enough) mindgames

Code geass : I also enjoy this one, but from what i remember action didn't have as much mindgames as i thought. I could be wrong, but nonetheless i watched it & enjoyed it, but it's not what i'm looking for

From the new world : Amazing show once again, but it's a slower buildup and ending is more action with a singular crazy reveal then what i'm looking for

COTE : Didn't like S1 much and i think i dropped it around s2?? or s3?? i don't really remember..

[P3V2] Throwback to my funny (actual) thought process while reading

So, during Wilfried's Story, back when he insulted Ferdinand by calling him a bastard out loud - my instantenous reaction was "Fran doesn't deserve this". I mean.. he was saying that in front of Fran, and Fran really respects Ferdinand. It wasn't until someone in my thread pointed out he was actually insulting Ferdinand that i actually realised how funny that i never once felt bad for Ferdinand but instantly felt about for Fran, for having to hear this xD

also no spoilers please im still at early p3v3
