Out of the Past (1947). Gif by me. Although the cinematography immediately stood out, it took a few watches to appreciate the dialogue and plot, and now it just seems to get better and better each time, because it's so layered, well made, and hypnotic.
Nice mid tempo composition off her debut, reminds me of David Sanborn/Bob James.

Found this while looking for more smooth jazz from the late 80s and early 90s and it hit the spot! I really like the verses that it opens with, with that ethereal bright synthesizer tone underneath, and the live drumming by Omar Hakim is incredible.
