Guzulu is a young artists living in a refugee camp in Kakuma, Kenya. He heard Bob Dylan and wanted to record a rap version. Hope you enjoy.
Several years ago, I met a singer living in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. He asked how he could earn money from his music, so I started publishing his songs to collect royalties for him.
Soon other refugee artists from the camp began sending me their music. The quality of music coming out of Kakuma Refugee Camp is remarkable.
I send 100% of the royalties directly to the artists and cover all the publishing and admin costs myself.
If you're looking for great new music, I'd really appreciate you giving this playlist a listen. Almost every track is an original written and recorded in the camp (there's currently one cover, with a few more coming). 12 artists are represented.
If you enjoy it, please save the playlist and stream it. Every listen helps put a little food on the table. Times are tough.
I didn't take the pic, but I know the place.
This is a rap gospel song by a 14 year old boy living in very poor conditions in Kakuma Refugee camp. It's inspiring to hear. I help some of the refugee musicians record their songs and many of the songs we have made focus on their faith. This kid get 100% of streaming revenue and is available on all major platforms. Add him to your playlists if you enjoy.
