Second owner. Textured titanium scales and Elmax steel. I wanted to check out a Kunwu, and man, I was not disappointed. The action and machining are outstanding, and the knife is in fantastic condition with no obvious signs of wear. I carried it a couple of times but never really put it to use. It just didn’t end up making my rotation. No box.

Benchmade Redoubt w/ AWT Scales — SV $130

Second owner and a catch-and-release for me. Outfitted with aftermarket AWT aluminum scales and an oversized aftermarket thumb stud. Original Grivory scales are included. The clip shows some wear, but the rest of the knife is in excellent condition. I carried it once and cut a single piece of cardboard. Comes with box.

First owner. Micarta with titanium bolster and S35VN steel. Carried, cut, disassembled for cleaning, and sharpened. Has a Lynch-style titanium clip installed (original clip included). There is a small scratch near the tip from sharpening, which I’ve tried to capture in the photos.

This is honestly one I never expected to sell. The build quality is excellent, the action is fantastic, and I love the knife. In the end, though, my Spydercos continue to win out for pocket time, and I’d rather see this get carried than sit in my case.

Flytanium Titanium Honeycomb Lotus Scales for Spyderco PM2 — SV $95

Flytanium Lotus scales for the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 in titanium with the Honeycomb finish. Installed and carried about three times with no visible wear. These are beautiful but ultimately I decided I prefer textured scales on my PM2. Includes the original packaging. Scales only—knife not included.

Second owner. S30V steel with Polyamide Nylon 12 scales. Excellent condition overall with some light wear on the Cerakote blade. I wanted to try one because I’d heard great things, and it definitely lives up to the hype. It’s just a bit more tactical than my preferences these days. Second owner. Aluminum scales and Magnacut blade. The previous owner told me the “XXXX” marking indicated it came from a designer’s desk, but I have not been able to verify that. Kershaw also uses “XXXX” markings on some factory seconds, so I’m selling it simply as marked “XXXX” and pricing it accordingly.

This is another one I honestly didn’t expect to sell. The knife functions perfectly and is an outstanding EDC. I carried it a handful of times and opened a box or two, but I’m trying to be disciplined about keeping only a handful of knives in my rotation.

Boker Kalashnikov 74 Damascus — SV $75

First owner. Micarta scales and Nitro-V steel. Lightly carried and used to cut some paper, but otherwise like new. Fantastic action and one of Kizer’s best designs.

I completely understand why this model has such a loyal following, and I honestly expected it to be a permanent part of my collection. It’s an incredible value and punches well above its price point. I’m only moving it because it no longer makes my regular rotation.

Kizer Sheepdog C01C 2.9 BS — SV $50

First owner. Micarta scales and Nitro-V steel. Carried in a bag for a while but only carried on my person once or twice. Great condition with no wear that I can find.

This is another one I thought would be a forever knife. The smaller Sheepdog is just plain fun to carry and use, but it simply doesn’t get enough pocket time anymore.

Second owner. G10 scales and Nitro-V steel. This is a great underrated knife in my opinion. Nothing flashy, but it has excellent flipper action and feels great in hand. If you’re looking for a budget user, this is hard to beat. Comes with a bag, but not the original packaging.

I’ve been working toward a much smaller, more intentional collection. A few of these are knives I genuinely never expected to sell, but they’ve lost out to my core rotation and deserve to be carried instead of sitting in my knife case.

A little while ago I picked up a PM2 in SPY27 with the blue G10 scales. I already have AWT scales on my Sage 6 and Native 5, so I knew I wanted to upgrade the PM2 as well.
I decided to try the Flytanium Lotus scales. They’re beautiful, but after carrying them for a bit, I realized they just aren’t what I was hoping for. The more I compare them, the more I realize I really prefer the contouring and texture of the AWT scales.

So now I’m trying to decide between Micarta CruCarta-style or Cerakote aluminum.
A few questions:

-Which would you choose: Micarta or Cerakote?

-Can I use the CruCarta version on a standard G10 PM2? I’m not interested in removing the clip-side liner.

-Is there another brand I should be considering besides AWT?

Put on some Flytanium Lotus scales with anodized honeycomb pattern.

What is everyone carrying today? I have my Spyderco PM2 for my couch carry today.

Just got in from the swap. Spyderco PM2 in G10 and SPY27. Looking forward to a scale swap soon.

Wanted a dupe of Y by YSL and I heard this was one of the best, Lattafa Fakhar Black. To be honest. I think I like it better than the original. Great opening notes that’s less harsh then the OG, the bergamot definitely comes through. Also has a great woody dry down.

Happy Sunday knife knerds! What is everyone carrying today? I have my Native 5 in AWT scales.

Didn’t think I was a fan of this knife, even tried to sell it on the swap. When I wasn’t getting any bits, someone mentioned AWT scales… I had just put some on my Sage 6 so I figured why not. REALLY happy with how this turned out, I also got a deep carry lynch clip.

I have my QSP Penguin. It’s my “Franken- Penguin” with brass scales but an S35VN blade. What do you have?
