Any RTS/FPS Hybrid with one commander and other players as soldiers?

Pretty much the title. I saw posts of Natural Selection 2 and my friend has been wanting to get me into Executive Assault. Those posts were from a year ago, though, so I'm wondering if anyone might have ideas that fit the bill as well?

One player (or multiple, doesn't matter much) who does the RTS side of things for building the base and directing squads, while there are other human players on the ground assisting in assaulting the objectives and commanding their own squads?

I'm an FPS lover and my friend loves RTS, and I noticed there are some hybrid games. I'm hoping for suggestions on games that fit that bill for what we'd be looking for. Preferably with the ability to face against bots and just have us two play. We aren't big on PvP.

Potential Level Distribution for a Netrunner/Exec?

I want to build a Netrunner who goes into Exec eventually, but I'm not sure the earliest would be okay to do without gimping my Netrunner capabilities? I will primarily be a Netrunner and it's more backstory reason he becomes an Exec, as this character is designed to eventually become who my character was in 2077 post-campaign.

An ex-Arasaka Triggerman who tries to work solo in the shadows as a cold-hearted professional who always gets the job done as the client wants (stealth Netrunner build with suppressed pistols and focused on Cool and Intelligence) and resides in his penthouse apartment. That's the 2077 build at least, and I would like to eventually get the Beaverville House, or even up to the McMansion (but don't particularly care about that as much, hell the ConApt is fine but it would be nice to have it as the party safehouse). I'm not particularly interested in the Team Members part but could work with it. Netrunner is my MAIN class build, with the Exec just being a side thing to give the additional benefits and follow the story along further.

So my big question is, when should I start putting points into Exec because I know once you start taking levels in an additional role, that role becomes your "job" and I'm not sure how far that will go.

Is it rude to just hit Join Campaign without talking to the DM?

I found a game I'm interested in joining with only one open seat left, and I've messaged the GM days ago with no response and their next session is scheduled for tomorrow. I really want to join, but I don't want to just push my way into their group with little to no introduction and just be "okay, I'm here now, guess you'll have to deal with it." I'm curious how other DMs would respond to this kind of situation if I were to just hit that button, make the payment, and drop in out of nowhere. I did at least try to give prior warning which has gone unacknowledged.

Enigmatic Skies Altar of Birthing?

Playing the Enigmatic Skies modpack and trying to get some of the cows using the IOUs with the altar of birthing, but no matter what I do with it I can't spawn the cows. Research on Nature's Aura says I need a Spirit of Birthing which requires animals to begin with? Not sure where I'm going wrong because the quest guide doesn't really give any tips on that.

Games similar in gameplay to XCOM?

I don't mean just "tactical turn-based combat" as there's plenty of those I do enjoy, but I mostly mean ones that have nameless soldiers that could die and be replaced by someone you recruit after the fact and level up over time. More XCOM Enemy Within/Unknown or 2, and not Chimera Squad. Phoenix Point was a good example of this and I did enjoy that, lot of fun. Also really liked WH 40k Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters. I'm hoping others might have ideas I haven't discovered yet, though. Also the tactical turn-based combat. It doesn't have to be the same time setting as XCOM, if there's something similar in a medieval fantasy setting or even sci-fi or cyberpunk or whatever.

Do non-class spell traditions count when using scrolls?

Me and my party are two occult casters and two divine casters, and we've been coming across some scrolls and items that are of the arcane and primal traditions. I know to use a scroll you have to have the spell on your spell list, but what limits are implied by that?

For instance if you're a Lizardfolk with the Bone Magic feat and you choose Primal, do you count as a Primal caster for the purpose of using scrolls with spells of that tradition? Or do you still only count as your primary tradition from your class?
