Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

I just wanted to share a little collage of the projects I've made this summer and offer a big thank you to everyone in this subreddit. I've been a balcony flower gardener for many years and just a huge fan of flowers. I used to have a press as a girl, and have casually pressed the odd flower from my garden between books over the years.
I discovered this sub earlier this year and got myself a flower press and the basic starter materials and have been pressing through the summer. So far only flowers from my garden or the nearby forest.
It's so fun to experiment and learn and create❣️
Thank you all so much for sharing your creations, tips and ideas.
Happy pressing!

Beginner questions - should I buy this?

I find this dish just stunning. It's being sold as carnival glass, possibly from Walther Glas or VEB
Sachsenglas (we're in Germany), for €59 (around $ 68 US ).
Is it worth that? I'm not really a collector but I just love it. However, if it's worth way less I don't want to overpay by a large margin.
Would appreciate any help or information, thanks so much! 😊

Zinnia help

I love Zinnias and grow them every summer but am having trouble pressing them. I know with these types of petals it can help to not use one of the pressing layers (the liner before the cardboard?) to help prevent them drying before the center and then causing that shriveling. But I also find it's hard to lay and align them properly. I'd love to be able to preserve that cute little ring of yellow mini-blooms in the center. Are Zinnias just hard to get right?

Fresh start after mealybug nightmare

To my utter chagrin, earlier today I found my beloved, 20 year old Jade had quite the mealybug infestation 😫
The good news is: Jades are so resilient and I've propagated lots of plants off this one over the years and have done so many chop jobs before and they always bounce back!

Of course I wiped and sprayed the whole thing down with a homemade alcohol/water/dishsoap insecticide and I think I got them all (for now).

I know I need to stay vigilant going forward, also with all my other plants as these little suckers are prolific. If you've been through something similar and have tips, tricks, ideas or just solidarity I'd appreciate it. I was actually kinda happy to give this queen a fresh look and take the opportunity to reshape her. So that doesn't bother me, but I still have the creepy-crawlies feeling from dealing with all those icky bugs 😅

NYT Games app crashing & games layout

My NYT Games app keeps crashing. I'm on an iPhone with updated iOS. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help.
Also, after I uninstalled and reinstalled now the order the games appear in the app is reversed. Wordle is at the top and the crosswords are at the bottom. I'd like it the other way around and don't see how to adjust it (no setting for that).
I submitted a bug report through the app, but it appears they don't have customer service anymore.
Is anyone else having these issues?

This channel pulls cute little fortunes out of a gumball machine which is usually in a room. Now it appears outdoors in various locations which seems unrealistic and makes me doubt. Is this just heavy editing or AI editing or fully AI?

I came across this new channel on YouTube where there's this big old-fashioned gumball machine and cute little fortunes come out of it. Every day they pull a new one. I was suspicious from jump but could not find any quality specifically that made it seem AI and it actually seemed real to me. Now the gumball machine has appeared outdoors in various locations which seems weird but not necessarily AI. I said to myself: sure they could've hauled it out into a field. But now to a beach? Nah. I've looked again and again and perhaps the light reflecting off the gumball machine in the very beginning, and the way the bottom of the glass is sort of blurry (like you can't see the fortunes laying at the bottom of the bowl), but otherwise it seems real with computer-generated voiceovers. Like the way you can see the beach behind the chute and how it distorts through the clear glass or plastic seems realistic and not AI to me. Obviously the part with the fortune at the end is computer-generated but that isn't necessarily AI, right? I would appreciate help in sorting this out because I absolutely do not want to follow an AI channel. Thanks!

Sunburn then yellow leaves?

I have a whole bunch of Jades and have brought them outside for the summer. I suppose I didn't ease them out enough because a few of them (interestingly not all of them) got sunburned (visible on the lower right of the photo). The ones that burned I moved to the other side of the balcony which gets only morning / half day sun. Well, now the new leaves coming out are yellowish. Does that mean there's now not enough sun? I've had Jades on this side of the house for years that seem happy with the amount of sun. This just happened after moving these sunburned ones. Any ideas, tips, tricks, or experience is very welcome. Thanks!

Dude...

Superdry is a British clothing brand. I was just at an online meeting where a colleague had a shirt on with this logo. Of course I thought: "Oh cool, he's a Danhead too!" until I looked closer.

I don't know who the artist is who designed the SD logo from CBAT but they could probably sue for intellectual property rights over this. Superdry was founded in 2003, so this is stolen from Steely Dan not the other way around.

Pfft!
