I’m jealous of all the help my husband gets

I’m jealous. I want my husband to suffer the same ways I have. If you tell me “that’s not real love and you’re not being a good partner,” well being a good partner has gotten me nowhere but in the freaking shitter.

My husband is truly a narcissist or the most emotionally immature and vindictive POS I’ve ever met. He had “warning signs” prior to us having a kid BUT he went to therapy and did all the “things” that led me to believe he was as dedicated to changing them as I was. LOL. JOKES ON ME.

Anyways, we moved 2,000 miles away from any of my family and friends to be close to his family. They retired in a beautiful vacation city, I could get a job anywhere and it seemed like a dream come true. But not when you have children and are parenting with a person who is dedicated to making your life a living hell.

Anyways, I went back to work full time. I hate it. I hate it I hate it I hate it I hate it. I was a stay at home mom before and I’m team staying at home is easier omfg.

So now I have an inflexible job I can’t really quit until my contract is up and my husband works from home. Our kid was sick today so it was my husbands turn to take the day off. He had his parents come over and they watched our child while my husband still got to work. They didn’t change our kid’s poopy diaper so when I came home from my lunch break I had to practically scrape shit off of his butt because it was so caked on. He was just watching tv for god knows how long. They didn’t put him down for a nap so I did that too. All while my husband still gets to work from his home office while his mommy and daddy get to support him.

I wish I had some support. I feel like I’m drowning and have to swim up the current. I’m so tired. I stayed up all night with our son because he kept shitting his pants but still had to go to work. I feel like I’m just watching my body carry on and do all the things. My husband gets to thrive while I’m just lifeless and can’t do anything thoroughly. My work sucks. I work with elementary aged kids and I have no passion for it anymore. I just want to be at home with our son but I am at work. My husband has literally like 6 weeks of vacation time but couldn’t even use it and outsourced it to his parents (he had no important meetings or anything at all).

Anyways, I’m just over this dynamic. I’m so burnt out and tired. And my husband has no idea. He’s busy planning our fun weekends and remodeling our house and I’m like BRO I HAVEN’T SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT IN OVER 1.5 YEARS. My husband doesn’t handle overnight wake up’s. He just focuses on himself. And I try to let him take responsibility but he completely outsources it or leaves once it’s too emotionally taxing.

He says our life is redundant and we do the same things over and over again. Meanwhile I can’t even function. I’m seriously on the verge of a nervous breakdown and I’ve told him this. I think the only thing I can do is quit my job and find something part time. Idk how people do this. Being a stay at home mom (for me) was so much more manageable than this.

I’m never allowed to have opinions

My husband doesn’t allow me to have opinions.

For example, I just went back to work after maternity leave. I told him I don’t like my job anymore (teacher) because I have to give my all to it and I’m over it. Teaching is not like a desk job that he has. There’s a reason why we get a lot of breaks and until you actively do it you don’t understand why.

And then he began to list all the reasons I should be grateful. I should be grateful that I get to walk the dog in the morning because other people can’t. I should be grateful that I have a job. I should be grateful that this is just an option (me working) because he’s so wealthy. But he still asks me to pay 50% of the mortgage but I don’t *have* to work.

I assured him that I technically have to work because he hated me staying at home and made my life miserable. So I had to work.

I am just trying to survive my day to day life. I’m just trying to cook, clean, take care of our toddler, laundry, pack lunches, etc. My husband has time to make apps and work on redesigning our backyard because “you might as well enjoy the space you live in.” He wants to plan more trips on the weekend so we can show our child how to be adaptable and resilient while we travel. Meanwhile, last time we traveled, my husband vowed to never do it again. He says this every time we travel.

We live different realities. He also works from home and takes meetings from his desk so he has no idea what it’s like to teach all day.

Anyways, here’s me complaining. He wants to make sure I find the moments of loveliness from working. He also wants to stop being transparent about his monetary earnings so I don’t feel like I have a choice in working.

It’s a real great partner I have in life. I didn’t realize he was this dense until after we had our child. He has no clue how to collaborate and be a team player. He has no idea what the trenches are like because he left me to do everything while he gets to focus on leisure. I hired a cleaner but now, since I’m being pressured to pay half of mortgage, I cannot afford it anymore. We don’t have a shared checking account. He’s so weird about splitting our finances but we don’t have a prenuptial agreement. I wish he could just be gracious and support our family as supporting each other pours into our child.

This marriage is beyond the point of repair and I’m holding on for our kids sake because I know my husband could not parent him alone 50% of the time. He’s never been able to put him down for a nap.

Back to work after SAHM blows

Either option was shitty.

I stayed at home with our child and my husband was okay with it. He makes enough on his own to support us. Well, he began financially abusing me, verbally, etc. Basically harassing me until I got a job again.

Now he’s harassing me in an entirely different way. He makes 3x what I do. He told me I could work and use the money I make for xyz not paying the mortgage. But now he’s requiring me to pay 50% of the mortgage even with the income disparity. Doesn’t care.

And his company is doing well and they’re expected to pay out their employees an extreme amount of money. Now my husband is claiming he wants to be a stay at home dad since he hates seeing our son sad at daycare.

All I ever wanted was to stay at home with our child. Like that’s it. Our child misses me so much and I just cry at work. And now my husband is going to exploit this situation and stay home himself? He claims he won’t have to work so he can just take care of our child.

I’m just so heart broken. I miss our child so much and it breaks my heart and my husband just rubs this in my face.

Parenting with a narcissist: weekend edition

My husband hasn’t been speaking to me since yesterday morning because I was in a bad mood. I’m not allowed to be in a bad mood or snippy ever.

So, cue the digs at me that undermine me and shame me. That started.

Then, the distance. He went on a “bike ride” yesterday night then tinkered around in the garage last night missing bedtime and bath time. But that’s normal.

Our child woke up sick so he pretended to care by holding them while I gave them medicine.

Then, he leaves for a workout class this morning. It finished about two hours ago and he’s nowhere in sight. No call, no bat signal, living. Oh wait he just showed up!

I told him I needed to go get tampons and he scoffed at me questioning me why I’d need more tampons (I’m on my period).

The child and I are also sick but he’s now taking the child on a bike ride to get me said tampons because how dare I leave to go get tampons?

I’m just not sure how this could ever get better if I can’t even go to the store and buy myself tampons? I have a job and money but can’t go to the store?

Anyways, it’s gonna be a long and shitty weekend because he’s not communicating with me and is trying to take space every which way. All because I was in a bad mood (which I never am in a bad mood but being sick, on my period, readjusting to being back to work after 2 years off, child in daycare not sleeping, etc). I think I deserve a little leniency. And I need heart surgery so every now and then I get a little panicked because it’s a major surgery looming in the distance and I get a bout of dread and anxiety. A lot of people with my similar condition have panic attacks and anxiety attacks leading up to the surgery because it’s so daunting.

Anyways, so welcome to a quiet weekend filled with a husband who hates me because I didn’t act in accordance with how he perceives me. And with a sick child and a sick me but I can’t go to the doctor by myself so I’ll have to take off time at work and go then so at least our child will be in daycare.

I hope my life would be better post separation. I’m starting to see the looks of sadness on our child’s face because his dad likes to separate us and he looks to me as to why I’m not there. Because he’s a toddler and he wants his mommy because I’m consistent and steady and loving. My husband is whacked out and on a power trip and no I don’t have family locally or many friends so I don’t have anywhere to go during these times.

If I had more support I’m sure my life would look a lot different but I truly only have myself to rely on and I think I’m doing great despite all of the barriers of my shitty husband.

I didn’t know he was like this until I was postpartum and he had to go back to work. Then he became a household terrorist.

The punishment cycle of abuse

It’s been a bad week. I’ve been a wreck because I’m back at work full time. Our toddler started daycare and is sleeping like crap there and at home due to separation anxiety.

It’s just a lot. I’m also sick, double ear infections so I can’t hear lmao, on my period and just exhausted. Also trying to navigate scheduling and prepping for a major surgery.

Well, husband decides today is the day! Today is the day that he will punish me because I dared have a bad attitude this morning.

Our child tripped and fell today flat on his face. He’s been falling more the last few days because he’s utterly exhausted. Well, my husband just takes off and goes on a bike ride. Doesn’t help me with the child. Doesn’t help give them a bath, just leaves.

He’s also made digs at me like “did you follow the whole recipe?” Today after I made dinner.

He got a semi automatic squirt gun and kept spraying me with it in the face. When I got him back he took my bottle of water and tried to dump it on me very vengefully. There was no playful behavior behind that at all.

So here we are. Giving the toddler a bath while I’m sick and have a fever. I’ll still have to put the toddler down to bed because my husband is unable to do it and then walk the dog because my husband now hates the dog and wants to open up the gate and let it run free. So now I have to call the rescue I got him from and talk to them about taking him back for a little bit because I think my husband will do something while I’m at work.

It’s great! And I’m scheduling heart surgery soon and prepping for a recovery. Love it! But he needs to go ride his bike.

Love it.

My husband won’t let our toddler be a toddler

He won’t let them be a toddler (a one year old toddler). He won’t let them cry and reach out their arms out to me- that’s a mamas boy.

If the toddler isn’t hungry and is refusing to eat it’s a huge deal. It’s “we gave you too many options when you were younger,” and asking me “when do we force him to eat?”

It’s saying “you’re a big boy you don’t need to breastfeed anymore.”

“It’s okay to be sad at daycare it’s good for him to be away from you so he can be independent.”

I’m just so sad and broken. All I want to do is be a mom to our child but it’s constantly sabotaged by the husband. I know LEAVE but if he’s already alienating me now what will he do with 50% custody? He can barely stand our kid when he’s alone with them what the fuck would he do with all the responsibility on him?

I genuinely know my husband could not step up. I feel like garbage.

Husband is ineffective with our dog

Our dog has been with us for years. They received an intense and an immense amount of training all initiated by me.

I wanted to make sure our dog was good before we had a child. I attended so many trainings and even became a dog trainer myself because I wanted to not stress whenever our child was born.

Enter my husband.

He didn’t attend all but two training sessions before our child was born. Therefore the dog doesn’t listen to him or take him seriously. Neither does our toddler but that’s not surprising as the toddler knows my husband cannot set or enforce a boundary. So I’m the only adult they trust and listen to it’s great.

My husband thinks my safety suggestions are merely me being a prick. They’re not.

Our dog is a saint with our toddler. The toddler is obsessed with this dog and therefore the dog sustains a LOT of whacks and smacks and kicks and the dog just runs away. I prefer to keep them separated via gates but my husband thinks this is mean so this is why these whacks and smacks happen.

Well last night I was inside doing dishes when I heard the toddler screaming then my husband proceeds to smack the dog. The dog is cowering and very concerned because I swear this dog has a heart of gold. The dog and toddler were following my husband down our side alley and the dog accidentally ran into our toddler which sent the toddler flying back. Our toddler is exponentially tired and didn’t put his hands out when he fell. My husband is a horrible historian but apparently his body hit the ground then his head did. Our toddler was completely inconsolable but he was also EXTREMELY tired as it’s his first week of daycare and he refuses to nap more than 30 minutes there (compared to 2.5 hours he typically does). He is fine thank God.

The dog hasn’t ever hurt our toddler especially on purpose and the dog felt horrible especially given my husband’s reaction. I know my husband feels guilty because he knows he shouldn’t have allowed them in a close space together.

I don’t let the dog and toddler in this alley area together as it’s a tight space and the toddler is always trying to climb the dog or hit it in close areas and the dog is also massive. My husband thought I was being mean to the dog but I try to avoid any accidents as I would rather have my dog think I’m “mean” than have him be the cause of any turmoil to the family. This also includes leaving him at home whenever we take the toddler out because I don’t have the brain cells to manage it all.

Anyways now my husband wants to rehome the dog. But I think we should rehome my husband since he cannot follow simple instructions that have been laid out to him by professionals that I’ve poured countless time and energy and efforts into? We’ve even had dog trainers give us structured down to the minute instructions about what to do with this dog to meet their needs, none of which include letting this dog do whatever tf it wants.

Anyways, let’s rehome my husband. He still needs a bit of training though idk if he’ll get adopted! He still needs to go to therapy and requires and doesn’t listen so he will need an experienced owner.

Toddler sleep: what the fuck

I (not proudly) just yelled at my 18 month old “go to sleep” then proceeded to hyperventilate and cry.

They haven’t slept more than a 3 hour stretch since they’ve been born. Sleeping through the night? That’s non existent.

Sleep training? They have breath holding spells and cry it out obviously didn’t work because they just turned purple.

Same with any other interval cry sleep trainings.

So I ended up cosleeping. And my god I regret it. I have many regrets but cosleeping is one of them.

They just started daycare and napped 45 minutes today. They are so overtired they can’t go to sleep. Like they go to sleep but then they keep moving their hands and scratching things and pull my little hairs out.

Husband? He’s never helped with night wakeups of putting the child to sleep. This is why I resorted to cosleeping so I could somewhat survive being a married single mom to the worst sleeper ever created.

And now they’re stirring again. Like what the actual fuck.

I finally got one hour of sleep and then they woke up crying. It’s been over an hour of trying to get them to sleep and stay asleep.

I don’t know how I can work full time and this to be the reality at night.

I don’t ever want to do this again. Thank God I’m physically unable to carry another child because I’m not fucking doing this toddler shit again.

Love my kid but what the actual fuck

Keeping the bond with your kids as they age

I have an 18 month old so I’m still new to the parenting game. I cannot have any kids due to health reasons so I’m one and done.

How are we coping with watching our children grow up and not need us? Like my son holds my face in his hands when he sleeps overnight but during the day it’s as if I don’t exist. He’s also now starting to prefer his father which is great. I’m glad they’re building that bond and he has more people to be with him. But I have to admit it stings. It stings when he reaches out for his father instead of me. And the reason is his dad was completely MIA whenever he was an infant. I did everything ALONE. And I mean ALONE.

It hurts seeing my husband being able to dip out and then come back trying to be super dad only to have left me high and dry.

I have so much resentment for him. And now I also work full time after having a long time off and I’m worried my son and I won’t be bonded the same way since I’m gone during the day.

I don’t know. Parenthood is a trip.

What in tarnation

I’m back at work but our daycare is closed so my husband offered to take care of our child.

His parents came over today at 7:00 am. Yes. They watched our son while my husband went to an appointment. Then they all went shopping together. Our son slept for 20 minutes in the car. He usually takes a two hour mid day nap. Yesterday he was so tired he was falling asleep during dinner.

I came home for my lunch break and my in laws WERE STILL OVER. They left and my husband had to parent for 2.5 hours before I came back because I got out early today.

In that time he drank a hard seltzer and our house was in complete disarray. Him and our son were watching tv. Meanwhile, whenever I was a SAHM, we were at the library, doing water play, cleaning the house and doing laundry, meal prepping, etc. Like I was never NOT doing anything (yes double negative I get it). My husband also expected me to have meals ready for him and to make time for sexy time during our son’s naps (husband works from home). I used screen time whenever I was prepping dinner. And my husband had the audacity to tell me I should do arts and crafts with our child and show them other things aside from cleaning all day.

Well at least I’m not showing them how to be a bum.

Like what the actual FUCK.

I’m so excited for daycare to open again because what the actual fuck is this? Like what kind of fucking bum ass parenting is this shit?

I know I carry the whole family on my back but COME ON.

I’m becoming the mean parent

Back to work after being a SAHM. Yet it’s shaping up that I’ll still do all the default parenting tasks such as scheduling, nightly wakeups, etc.

My husband works from home and I work at an office and have to be there by 7:30 am. It’s early.

My husband cannot be bothered. He’s laughing, having fun, being the fun parent. My child is clinging to me because they’re not used to me being gone and whenever I get back they’re stuck to me like glue.

My husband did NOTHING getting our son set up for daycare. My husband doesn’t understand why our one year old is having a hard time with this transition.

I’m just so over it all. I’m feeling guilt. My husband gets to be the fun parent and doesn’t worry about the tasks that NEED done like walking the dog and washing the dishes. He just is blissfully unaware because I was the stay at home parent and did ALL of it.

I understand there’s ways to communicate but BUT my husband has been so so abusive to me. He’s trying to be “better” but he’s still not pulling his weight.

Im over it already

“Should I bring my mom?”

Off to work I go tomorrow after my 18 month long maternity leave.

Daycare is closed for a few days so my husband volunteered to stay home with our child. He has been a pretty hands off father but is getting better. I’m glad, for our child’s sake.

He asks me with a straight face if he should bring his mom along with him and son tomorrow on their outing? I already heard him on the phone with his parents asking them to babysit while my husband has an appointment.

So, he’s the stay at home parent and he utilizes his mom? I have no family of my own close by so I’m jealous.

I’m so fucking annoyed.

I’m so sad and cranky about not being home with my son anymore. I’m honestly devastated. I’m annoyed I’m returning to my job (that I took a leave from) just to work for a few months until I get to be out for 12 weeks whenever I get heart surgery.

I’m just so sad. I’m mad at the world. I can’t stop crying today so my husband gave me a stupid pep talk about how I have a flexible job and I’m lucky I get to spend time with our son (I work for a school district) and how his other friends don’t even get to see their kid and etc.

I’m just like… I understand. They have it rough. But I just want to be with my baby because I won’t be able to hold them for a while after surgery. I’ll have to stop breastfeeding and cosleeping. Everything feels so far out of my control.

And my job doesn’t even know I exist. I had to email the principal to figure out what I’m doing with my first few days. I’m not listed as new staff in their bulletin lmao. I’m just like… okay. Kinda weird but I’ll just forget staff meetings and etc because quite literally no one knows I’m
Even working there.

Don’t even have students in my portal.

Anyways, off to work I go. Back to full time away from my baby just to work a few months then be out on fmla from heart surgery. YIPPIE!!!

But I’m excited for the money and lunch breaks

Just diagnosed with severe MVP and regurgitation

I have a significant family history of heart problems on my maternal side of my family but I got by unscathed until just now.

During my physical the doctor recognized a murmur (never had one before). They referred me to cardiology and said I had a 5/6 nonrhumetic murmur and was referred for an echo. The echo revealed severe MVP with regurgitation and severely dilated left atrium.

I am a mom of a toddler and was having shortness of breath, rapid heart beat, increased resting heart beat but I am so sleep deprived and overwhelmed so I attributed this all to that.

I’ve also been dizzy but it’s a heat wave.

I had the echo done about 10 days ago and they gave me a report. I don’t have a follow up scheduled until the end of August because it’s apparently the soonest available.

I live in Southern California. I feel like this is… severe? Shouldn’t I be a priority to be seen lol?
I’m not actively dying but I also don’t feel great. They essentially told me that I could go to the ER and be treated faster.

Is this normal or should I expect different treatment? I am trying to go to other facilities but their soonest available are even further out.

This is stressful especially as the primary parent to my child. But I know I’ll be alright if I just get this damn thing repaired.

The fucking working mom guilt

Everything is a man rant because it’s caused by a man.

Going back to work after an 18 month mat leave. My dream was to be a stay at home mom until my child was 3 but my husband had other plans.

He was so so SO horrible to me during my leave I realized I couldn’t rely on him. Sure, he would support us but he would make me miserable doing it. I figured it would be best and healthier for me to go back to work and for our child to enter childcare rather than me staying at home just to be bullied by my husband.

I figured going back to work would give me more leverage and freedom to plan my separation and I know it will.

But tell me why WHY all I see on social media are posts about missing out on your child’s younger years and working and how this is detrimental? I’ve read seriously every research article about daycare, attachment parenting, etc. I understand the science and what’s best. BUT I CANT PROVIDE WHATS BEST.

I tried. I TRIED but I had a psychotic jealous man child working against me. I literally have no other village nearby, it’s just ME!!! Me!!!

I’m feeling guilty and relieved that I’ll finally have childcare for my child so I will have someone else to rely on aside from myself.

I’m so excited to make my own money and finally feel out from under my husbands thumb.

But I feel SO guilty. I know what’s technically best but I can’t do it anymore. It’s not what’s best for us right now. I have always vowed to not fuck my kid and this just feels like I am.

I tried posting in the SAHM subreddit but some weird incel kept commenting that I was expecting my husband to be a “human atm.” NO DAVID. I was not. I just wanted my husband to support his family (WHICH HE AGRRED TO) so our child could have a secure attachment and better outcomes in life.

So now I’ll go back to work and be our human atm machine.

Fucking men.

Returning to work

I never thought the day would come but I’m returning to work in less than a week after being a SAHM for the first 18 months of my child’s life.

I wanted to be a SAHM more than anything. Or to just work part time but my husband was the absolute worse while I’ve been staying at home. Like divorce worthy.

He has told me I’m a freeloader for being a SAHM. All other kinds of nasty and hurtful things. So I went back to my previous job that I was on leave from because in the back of my mind I knew I shouldn’t quit.

So I’m going back. They gave my old position to the person that they hired for my leave and now I’m filling in for other people’s maternity leaves. I’m not thrilled AT ALL. If it was my old position I would have been so happy. And to top it all off I recently learned that I have a heart condition that I’ll need surgery for.

I’m spiraling and I’m paralyzed with indecision. I don’t want to return to work especially because I’m already incredibly stressed out about my heart condition. I don’t want to leave our child at daycare full time at all. The only daycare that fit the safe parameters could not enroll him until he turned 18 months so he literally just starts full time cold turkey.

None of this feels good or right for me. My husband is a rich asshole. He hid this from me up until we got married and filed taxes together. But he’s an abusive asshole.

I work in a healthcare field so I know I can find another job. I spoke with my boss and she’s aware of my health issues and expects me to be gone at least sometime for recovery.

I suck at making decisions because I’m in an abusive relationship and every choice I make feels like the heaviest thing ever because my husband will retaliate if he doesn’t like what I do.

I know it’s safest for myself in the future to return to work full time and leave my husband. But right now I can’t as I’m on his insurance and need some support recovering from freaking heart surgery with a young toddler.

I just want some reassurance that if I make this decision to quit that I’m not ruining my life. That I’ll be okay and can figure it out.

It all just feels like too much right now and I am literally malfunctioning.

Feel like rage quitting; talk me off the ledge

I was out on maternity leave and had to take an extended unpaid leave because my childcare plans fell through.

Because of that my spot at my school I was at (which I loved and adopted) was given to the person who covered my leave. I understand this and I’m not mad at this said person.

But I was packing up my office today and just got so mad. I was given a role of covering other people’s leaves for the school year so I’ll be at two different sites (that I know of) covering maternity leaves.

I feel like I really built a great speech program at the school I’d been at for years and I’m salty that I’m just now covering leaves.

I’m mad I am putting my child in full time childcare to just go through the motions at work. I understand this is life, that shit isn’t always what we want it to be, but I’m angry. I wanted to work part time ultimately but kept telling myself it’d be okay because I’d be at my school I loved. My school doesn’t allow part time SLPs. I feel like I should have taken a job elsewhere but it’s too late for that.

I’m just upset. Venting I suppose. I do want to rage quit but that’s not a good idea as I’d probably not be in good standing.

I also found out I have a pretty severe health condition and I’ll be out for at least a month after I get surgery to rectify it so I’m also just like what’s the freaking point?

End vent.

It all happens at once

It’s all happening at once.

And I’m just going to type it out because I’m so overwhelmed.

  1. I’m in an abusive relationship with my husband. That is always looming in the background about how I need to leave and set a better example and blah blah.
  2. My child is starting full time daycare after only being home with me in 2 weeks. There’s no soft intro period because they need to be 18 months to start and they literally are turning 18 months the day before my job starts. We’ve done little playtime’s there so he’s not completely unfamiliar.
  3. I go back to work full time. Ugh. Gotta pack up my office where my classroom was and find storage for it since I’m just a floater this year.
  4. I was diagnosed with a severe heart issue that needs surgery. Except I don’t even have follow up appointments for one month and two months out, respectfully. And no this isn’t because it’s actually not severe it’s because they’re so overwhelmed with the volume of
    Patients .
  5. Husband strained his back and cannot lift our child
Or walk our dog or bend over. And it all falls on me. I’m
Having symptoms from my heart issue.

I don’t want to go back to work given my heart issue. We don’t even need me to go back to work to afford our lifestyle but my husband bullied me to go back to work.

I feel like
Complete shit physically. Mentally I’m
So overwhelmed with pending heart surgery, child starting daycare and me being away from them. I like our daycare I’ve done EXTENSIVE RESEARCH and he will be safe there. But I know he’s better off with me all day.

There’s so many open variables and I’m just tired.

Oh yeah my dog also needs surgery but I need to figure out my life before he gets surgery because he’ll be out for 12 weeks and given I’m the only one who can life him and etc I need to be recovered.

SLP returning to work after mat leave

I’m returning to work after an 18 month long leave within the school setting. My toddler will be in full time daycare.

I’m really struggling with leaving my child to go work with other peoples children all day. I am sure that once I get into a routine it won’t be so bad. I am starting at two new schools this year and I’m also nervous about “fitting in” to the schools environment (iykyk). I’ll be mostly in self contained classrooms and may have a graduate intern the later half of the school year.

Does anyone have any advice or reframes? And no, I cannot work part time or extend my time off any longer. My husband is not open, willing nor able to support me as a SAHM and I need to work full time to keep my tenured job.

Husband cannot even handle 1.5 hours

Husband is the one who dragged me through hell and back whenever I tried being a SAHM. He created more work for me, managed my every move (he works from home) and bullied me so much that I willingly went back to work full time.

Our toddler has been giving us a very hard time but I manage them and everything for them so my husband thinks it’s “fun.”

He told me to go out and get my nails done this weekend so I sped off. I was only gone for 1.5 hours and this man was depleted. He took a nap afterwards and didn’t do any parenting the rest of the day.

He told me that whenever he has to watch our child for 4 days while I’m at work (because our daycare is closed) that he’s going to take a vacation after. I’m not really sure how my husband is going to handle this so I hope his parents come over and help him.

This makes me excited that maybe he won’t drag me through custody court whenever we eventually divorce. Because he also ruined my spirit and made my postpartum experience a nightmare while leaving me alone with a newborn for 8 months. Pretending he was the “primary parent” so he could get 3 months of paternity leave where he went out with his friends without his wedding ring.

There’s too much. But the man who said I didn’t do anything can’t even handle our child alone for 1.5 hours lmao.
