Eagles sub is usually a dead zone, so wanted to post it here. Nabokov has his first game in the AHL, and had the best debut. 32 save shut out in Eagles 2-0 win.
The sad part is Avs and Eagles were a combined 0/8 on the PP
So, way back when I was in middle school, I had borrowed a book from the library that had both the Iliad and the Odyssey in it. However, it didn't just have those. It actually started out with the wedding, Eris being angry and "gifting" the golden apple, and the whole deal with Paris's judgement. It also had the kidnapping of Helen, and before it actually started the Iliad, it actually went through events of the entire Trojan War, the 9 years before the Iliad starts, the Iliad itself, Achilles vs the Amazons, the sacking of Troy, and at the end of it before the odyssey, it also had a little segment about some of the surviving Trojans escaping and finding a new land which went on to become Rome. I am unsure if the Odyssey was any different, I ended up having to return it and never got back around to borrowing it again to finish. I assume there was more than just the Odyssey, like there was more than just the Iliad, because it was a thick book and the part where the Trojans founded Rome was only about half way through it.
I've been searching for it for years since, and I have never been able to find it. It is on my mind a lot, especially after about 10 years ago when I bought copies of the Iliad and the Odyssey from Barnes and Noble, started reading the Iliad, and was very confused as to why it started with Achilles pissed off that Briseas was taken from him lol.
At first, I thought Sunflower, but they haven't grown past around my knee level (I am 6 foot tall.) They also seem to grow incredibly fast. I mean, one day I come home, not even anything that looks like a blooming plant with buds, a day or two later the first one is there, a day or two later it is wilting but the second one now exists a couple feet away. Add a couple dayd that pne is willing but the first has 2 more heads growing from the stem, a day or two later now a 4th head has grown from the original, and yet anothet stem has grown near the 2nd flower, and between them the leafy plant with at least 3 or 4 more buds that are between appearing and starting to bloom
Since the game came out and I went through one playthrough (so far), I have been hyperfixating on Bond, from making the Vesper, to rewatching the movies from release order, and reading the books (only read Casino Royale way back in High school before). Now, I have seen every (official) Connery and Brosnan films, but have not fully watched all the Moore, Dalton, and Craig films, just parts of most. My current Bond actor list might be controversial, but please be civil in the comments. Would love to hear other views here.
Sean Connery. Growing up Brosnan was my Bond, and I preferred him because of the action scenes in it (I was a simple child, forgive me), but as I grew older and saw the older films, Connery became *the Bond* to me. I think every version of Bond Connery in his prime would have excelled at, especially with modern technology, but I don't think any of the other Bonds could have excelled in his own films.
Pierce Brosnan. Probably remaining bias from him being the Bond of my youth. Sure, some things are terrible (I don't mind the tsunami surfing, I just hate the horrible CGI used), but he used to be my perfect Bond, if even just because of the action involved in the movies, no matter how over the top (Onnatop, as you will)
George Lazenby. This is where it gets really controversial, but I actually loved him as Bond. I think if he had gotten multiple films more people actually would have enjoyed him. I don't even care that a portion of him was dubbed by another actor, especially since pretty much every single Main Bond Villain and Bond Girl were dubbed at that point, and even several films beyond that. He was the perfect mix between Connery Bond and book Bond
Roger Moore. I know a lot of fans see his films as too campy, but I enjoy his Bond nonetheless.
Daniel Craig. Another controversial take. I don't care that he was blonde, I don't care about the whole Blofeld being his adoptive brother. They were great films (as all Bond films are). He definitely fit the cold-hearted, almost rebellious while also respectful Bond of the novels
Timothy Dalton. Admittedly, he is the Bond I have seen the least amount of start-to-end films of. I just don't think he does as well as Craig, Moore, Lazenby, and especially Connery. Doesn't mean I hate him. There has yet to be even a single bad Bond film
I can't decide between starting my 2nd playthrough now, doing tacsim before doing the 2nd playthrough, or waiting for NG+ and/or DLC to start the 2nd playthrough. So, I turn to you. What do those of you who have done the tacsim and multiple playthroughs suggest?
Connery is my favorite Bond, but idk if I have this movie as one of my favorites of his. However, I do really appreciate the opening segment. I know OHMSS has mixed reactions, especially when it came out. I'd say a top 10 Bond film for me, and 3rd favorite Bond actor (Sue me). I just love that the opening can be viewed two ways. You can view it as a mission of vengeance with Bond hunting down Blofeld for the murder of Tracy. You can also ignore OHMSS and view it as a continuation of You Only Live Twice, especially since the first scene is in Japan, with Bond just hunting down Blofeld after he escapes from the Volcano base.
It does suck that Eon didn't embrace OHMSS until one of the Moore films, but I think it was a brilliant way to handle it, making it open to interpretation for Bind fans who liked or hated OHMSS. Either way you interpret it works just as well as the other interpretation.
007 First Light has sent me down a slight hyperfixation on James Bond recently. Been rewatching the movies, tried out the Vesper for the first time, started reading the books (only had read Casino Royale before way back in High School). Figured out some fun facts I had never realized before, such as Roald Dahl being part of the same spy group as Fleming was.

Anyway, one if the facts I never realized before was that the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was based off a book, a book written by Ian Fleming himself, the only children's book written by the creator of Bond, James Bond. Which led me to find out that Desmond Llewelyn, our dear Q, and Gert Frobe, one of my two favorite villains Goldfinger (the other being Sean Bean as 006, Alec Trevelyan), had the distinguished honor of being the only two actors to perform in official live action movies of both of Flemings creations.

I only started the game in April, and have been taking my time with it, exploring, doing all side stuff before doing missions, hitting spirit veins as they become available. So while I am almost level 100 (I believe I am at level 89 and close to level 90), I have only done 1 of the >!barriers, not sure if I should spoiler this or not!< in chapter 2. Was going around trying to find the best spots to grind out the weapon kills titles. Of the areas I can do, I enjoy the whole village before Hamamatsu Castle best. I'm sure there are shorter runs, but I prefer this one. 46-47 enemies, depending if the Kappa spawns, plus online there are plenty of revenant spirits to boost your kills (I have been finding 10-20 on my runs tonight). So you can grind your weapon kills, can add on grinding Crucible arts from Crucible weapons, and Crucible weapon kills if you haven't done that, while grinding out the sprint titles along with it. Plus like 6-7 Crucible Flies so you can also grind out the ranged weapon kills, too.

I'm sure it has been discussed to death, I haven't actually been to this sub before, but I wanted to at least put it out there, cause I want to see if people who have been playing since the game came out thought the same, and/or give a suggestion to people who might just be getting to the game.
Edit: I forgot there were two wells that occasionally spawn enemies, and there is a chance for a 2nd Kappa spawn as well. Also didn't think about the Ochoko cups you farm from the revenants while doing the run, and that it chips away at the collect gold title, too.
Been going through the Bond series in order of release since playing 007 First Light. Just watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which was actually my first time doing so. Why do people hate this movie? Sure, it isn't the greatest writing, but no worse than any of the Moore or Dalton films, and I would say Lazenby would be my third favorite Bond behind Brosnan as 2nd and Connery obviously as best. It is still a fun movie, and still a good Bond movie.
Not really a complaint, just found it very interesting. Every time I have ordered, living in Colorado, the package goes to Denver, then to the favility in my city, and then gets delivered from that facility in my city. This package, though, doesn't go to Denver at all, goes to Commerce City instead, from Commerce City to Broomfield, and curiously says it is being delivered to me from Broomfield. Is this like a new thing, or is it common for it to not go through the usual path and/or be delivered from one city to another instead of from the city's own facilities
McGahey has so many great goal calls, game entries, and lines. What are ones you have heard so much you can shout right along with him? Some of my favorites are "You can go home, but you can't stay here, cause This! Party! Is! Ovah!" And "cause this, ladies and gentleman, is a tied hockey game!"
Tried in the other sub but haven't had any responses. Just got the Redwall Cookbook, and was a little disappointed. Only about 37 recipes. Back on his old website there used to be a link to the recipes and I am pretty sure it was over double that amount there, my printer was going for a long time, but I lost all of them. Is there anywhere they might have been archived, cause it doesn't seem to be available on the website anymore
I haven't checked in a while if Brian Jacques old website is still available. Just got the Redwall cookbook, and it seems to be so small. I remember when I was still in middle school or high school his old website had a link where you coukd download a bunch of recipes, and it definitely had way more recipes than the cookbook does. Anyone know if you can still access those?
I have the Marvel Unlimited app, and don't read often, but go back every now and then. Was reading one of the Spider-Gwen runs, and got to a point where it told me that I need to have gotten to a certain point in anither series, Silk I think, so I start reading that one to get to that point and reach a spot in that one that says to make sure to have read up to another Spider-Woman comic, etc. I'm sure other comics also have situations like that. Is there any app or site out there that gives a good lay out of what comics should be read along with other comics, like that Spider-Gwen series does?
