After giant storms in the midwest and losing power for nearly a week, I finally got around to giving my thoughts on the closed beta by SNK for Art of Fighting 3 R. Everything that I had a problem with and what they need to correct.
Wanted to talk about a Q&A the Virtua Fighter dev team had with IGN going over things like the narrative for Crossroads and their influences for it, type of content that could be in the game as well as them possibly confirming that legacy characters will be returning from the previous games.

Wanted to discuss some things recently in the world of VF/SEGA. The producer for VF Crossroads Yamada-san shared with the community that the series will be getting its first Korean fighter in Crossraods and also showed a portion of their concept art. Saying that she (the korean fighter) will be bringing something new to the series. Also discussed the CEO of nvidia making a visit to tokyo meeting with SEGA in gratitude of them saving Nvidia back in the 90s and us getting a brief new look at stella in game. Not much BUT its something lol
As I'm getting more and more engrossed into the series and community, I realized theres been so many different versions for VF5 and then theres VF4 and so on. But I wanted to know what do folks look at as THE VIRTUA FIGHTER game/games? Since im coming from an SNK background, KOF 98, 02um, & 13 are games in the KOF series that many folks hold in high regard for one reason or another.
So im fairly new to the BB community/series, more so especially with the lore and stuff. I've had the game for a long time and play off and on but with the announcement of the newest character I've been wanting to get more into the series. My question is to you all, do you think Arcsys will reboot the series? Or you feel that they could continue the story? Im still understanding the lore myself.
Wanted to give my thoughts on the buzz Virtua Fighter Crossroads caused within the fighting game community and how not only its a big step for the series but potentially one for the genre itself showing that fighting games can be more than what we're used to. As well as my own thoughts about the game coming from a 2D player primarily thats new to the VF series.
To be transparent Im drafting out a vid about the recent ports from SNK with their NEOGEO premium stuff. The positives and negatives so far that I have and that folks in my community have commented. I wanted to reach out to you all as fellow SNK community members, to let me know whats yall thoughts? My hopes is that making this video will help SNK understand what it is we fans want more of & less of. Be it pricing, multiplat, crossplay, physicals, collections ect.
When it comes to the VF series, Id say im pretty new. Super casual but wanting to get more into the series and dive into the lore and world of the games. VF ultimate showdown is my first VF game, got into it around 2 years ago playing it off and on. But recently I've been playing it more. Didnt grow up playing 3D games much but I really like VF compared to say Tekken.
As far as lore and stuff goes I know barely anything, I only recently found out that apparently Dural is Kage's mom? And Lei Fei was trying to kill Lau to steal his techniques? And also Sarah was kidnapped by some organization and experimented on or something??? Even then I feel like Im barely scratching the surface. Where should I start to really get into this series lore? Thanks!
Also, the OVAs for VF, are they canon or are they like Fatal Fury's ova's where they're non-canon? Well, besides the krauser stuff.
Giving my own thoughts and theories of what this short teaser from SNK could be regarding Laocorn from the Fatal Fury movies. COTW DLC? maybe a movie remake? Or Both?
With the recent release of Mr. Karate in Fatal Fury COTW I believe I've figured out the clues that SNK have been leaving behind that suggests what could be instore for the future of the Art of Fighting franchise.....and its more obvious than you think.
Received early access to play Mr. Karate for COTW Season 2 and yeah he's definitely my favorite from both season 1 & 2 so far. SNK did my boy Robe- i mean Mr. Karate justice...
EVO Japan 2026 was a busy weekend for SNK with announcements of Mr. Karate for COTW, World Heroes perfect port release AND a huge balance update for KOF XV entire roster!
