Dog Soldiers Appreciation

A quick little post in honor of Dog Soldiers, one of my favorite werewolf movies. I rewatched it recently, and even though it’s not my absolute favorite (that spot goes to Bad Moon), I still really love it!

I love the concept of having an entire family of werewolves rather than just one—it’s quite original (even though there was already a pack of werewolves in The Howling). I’d love to see more horror movies featuring multiple werewolves (admittedly, Werewolves came out recently, but despite the incredible lycanthropes, the movie itself is pretty terrible).

By the way, here’s a bit of trivia nobody cares about but that I find amusing: the film was released in my country at the exact same time I was born, foreshadowing my future obsession (plus, Sean Pertwee played in it and later appeared in Gotham—my favorite series—which proves that everything is connected, hehe).

Teenagers In My Books

Just a silly little meme about how I'm incapable of writing a main character without turning them into a teenage werewolf 🤣

Waxwork's Werewolf Appreciation

I just wanted to make a post dedicated to the werewolf from the 1988 movie *Waxwork*. I started watching the film knowing nothing about it, and then I saw this guy start to transform—eventually turning into a werewolf that I personally think looks pretty great.

Most of you have maybe seen it already, but I hadn't. So, I wanted to put together this quick post, even though it’s not exactly a cinematic masterpiece and the werewolf only appears for a few minutes in the end 😅

INSOMANIACS : A Geek Werewolf In Nigmaville

Hi there! I’m back with a new moodboard for the novel I’m currently writing: Insomaniacs: A Geek Werewolf in Nigmaville—the first book in a saga about people transforming into supernatural creatures and all the chaos that ensues.

SYNOPSIS: In a world where humans and supernatural creatures coexist amidst a certain amount of chaos, young Mad King moves to Nigmaville, Florida, with her parents and immediately sets out to track down a mysterious creature wreaking havoc in her neighborhood. On the bright side, she befriends four other teens; on the downside, she gets bitten by the very creature she was hunting.

While her new friends show her around town the next day, one of them—Cory—notices some strange things about Mad. She has a ravenous appetite for red meat, attracts crows like a magnet while dogs seem to loathe her, and a pentacle has appeared on the palm of her left hand. A quick internet search reveals the horrifying truth to Cory: the new girl is a werewolf ! And tonight is a full moon...

GENRE : Urban Fantasy/Comedy/Action

FORMAT : As previously mentioned, this is the first volume of a novel series

WEREWOLF TYPE : [Physically]: "Bad Moon" style (but brown, slightly smaller due to being younger, and with longer claws) [Mentally]: although she has no interest in murder or consuming human flesh, she remains quite... chaotic

INSPIRATIONS : My Babysitter's A Vampire/Big Wolf On Campus/The Boy Who Cried Werewolf

An Owlman Moodboard for Owl Day !

I just found out that today is "Owl Day," so I wanted to create a moodboard for our dear Owlman—specifically, the version that appears in my saga, "Insomniacs".

Here, Owlmens are descendants of the Goetic demon Stolas (which explains why his symbol is included). Unlike their ancestor, they are wild creatures that only resemble humans in part of their appearance. They are extremely territorial—especially toward humans—but while they won't hesitate to snack on a child or two now and then, they don't pose a major threat.

That is why our heroes—who are being hounded by Batsquatches (giant bat-like creatures) intent on devouring one of their group, a Mothman—decide to summon an Owlman for protection. Naturally, they soon realize the creature is hard to tame and try to undo their mistake.

There you go ! I hope you like this moodboard; feel free to share your thoughts ! And Happy Owl Day !

Hugo Sharp [OC Moodboard]

A moodboard for a character from my saga, "Insomaniacs," which focuses on legendary creatures.

His name is Hugo Sharp. Like the main characters, he was living a dull life in Nigmaville—a Florida metropolis—before inexplicably transforming into a supernatural creature: in this case, a merman. He is fifteen years old and lives in downtown Nigmaville with his mother, who has always forbidden him from going near the beach (though, given the weirdos hanging around there, you can't blame her). He has always been something of a loner, spending most of his time composing songs.

One night, he defies his mother to meet a girl he likes at a beach party, but once he enters the water, he transforms without the humans around him noticing. He stays in hiding for several days, though he is occasionally spotted.

Reports of a "shark-boy" alert our heroes (who have also transformed into monsters); they help him regain his human form and keep the truth from his mother, whom he doesn't want to worry. Unfortunately, even after returning to human form, Hugo remains tormented by a longing to go back into the water—which is tricky, given the distance between his home and the beach. His main goals are: 1) to discover his origins without his mother suspecting a thing, and 2) to get a driver's license and a vehicle so he can go to the beach whenever he wants.

That’s about it for now; I hope you enjoyed this or were at least intrigued ! This is my first post here, and I’m looking forward to exploring this sub a bit more !

My Demon and her little imps (myself included)

A quick drawing I did a few weeks ago of my wife in the AU I'm writing for the show she's from, along with her chaotic group (including my self-insert—the cool girl with the orange glasses). I'm not entirely satisfied with the result, but I hope you like it !

An Idea for a Book I've Had for a Long Time

Here is a new idea—one I’ve had since around 2018, as the title suggests, but have never actually written down.

SYNOPSIS : It tells the story of a brilliant young detective working in a city where humans and supernatural creatures coexist (he specializes in cases involving Monsters). He leads a near-idyllic life until, inevitably, he is infected by a werewolf one night.

After slaughtering his wife during his first transformation, he is arrested and sentenced to live in a completely derelict section of the city reserved for more "beastly" monsters. Our hero must adapt to this new environment and his new condition while investigating the lycanthrope who infected him. Fortunately, he is aided in this by Woop, a talking hyena; Winston, a creature who is half-man and half-lythronax (a cousin of the tyrannosaurus); and Morrigan, a witch linked to ravens.

GENRE : Horror/Comedy/Mystery

FORMAT : I could easily turn it into a standalone story, but a short saga spanning several novels would allow for much greater development of the characters and the world

WEREWOLF TYPE : "Bad Moon" style: bipedal but closer to a wolf than a human, and the type to slaughter every human it encounters during each transformation

INSPIRATIONS : "Gotham" (TV Show)/"Cool World"/The abandoned sequel project for the 2010 film "The Wolfman"

Jin Leeds (OC)

After Mad the Werewolf and Cory the Mothman, here is the third character in my saga dedicated to our adorable cryptids ❤

Meet young Jin Leeds: formerly a squeaky-clean Christian teen living with her overprotective father and a whole brood of siblings, she is passionate about nature, animals, and ecology (as well as metal music and gore movies—but that’s a secret 🤫). She gains the "power" to transform into the Jersey Devil—a sort of missing link between a dragon and a demon—whenever she gets angry.

This is the first time I’ve drawn the Jersey Devil, even though it’s a cryptid I absolutely love. I did lean more toward the dragon aspect than the goat side, though it’s possible the design might change! In any case, I hope you like it!

Eddy Appreciation Post 💚

Originally, I wanted to make an art or a screenshot edit, but I had absolutely NO inspiration and I hated everything I was doing, so I gave up (why can't I be talented? 😭).

I'm just making this post to vent my love for Ed because sometimes you just have to let it out. I've loved him SO MUCH all these years; just thinking about him has helped me through so many difficult situations (I literally got out of a panic attack thinking about him). I so wish he could have had a happy life (even though he did some bad things, but shh 🤫) without constantly being close to death. I want so badly to make him happy, to be there for him, to protect him 💚 I'm going through a pretty stressful time with my new job, but just thinking about him or looking at his picture makes me feel so much better. I know he won't judge me if I mess up, and he'll be there to comfort me, like he always has been for the past eight years.

Unfortunately, we weren't born into the same reality, but I know that one day our paths will cross 💚💚
