Mahindra dealer not allowing external financing

Hi Mighty Reddittors,

I booked an XEV 9S Pack 3 from a Mahindra dealer in Delhi who promised to deliver the car in 2 weeks.
While booking I explicitly mentioned I’ll not take insurance from him as I had heard cases where they refuse delivery until you take insurance from them.

Now yesterday I had a word with him telling that I had applied for a loan with my family’s agent who gives certain loan benefits better than the dealer’s loan guy. Listening to this he totally flipped saying we had a deal and I have to take financing from him only. We did not have any such deal and I did not commit to any such thing that I’ll take financing from him, I only listened to that guy to keep him as an option.

When I told that I’m getting benefits better and if he’ll give the same benefits, I’ll take the financing from him, he told he cannot match the benefits.

Now when I tell him that I’ll go for external financing only, he says that then you’ll get the car after the official waiting period only i.e 1-2 months (my humch is I’ll get it pretty late after 2 months only)

Asking the community to help me out here:

  1. Other dealerships are offering me the car in 1 month (which I’m personally okay in), can I transfer my booking to another dealership?
  2. The booking mail mentions 10% deduction on the booking amount, so I’ll loose 2.1k if I cancel the booking here and take from another dealership?
  3. Anything else I can do here?
