Anyone can help

Hi everyone,

I’m a Malaysian who studied Mechanical Engineering at B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, India (NBA accredited), and I’m currently applying for Graduate Engineer registration with BEM.

Since my degree is from overseas, BEM requires my supporting documents to be certified by a Professional Engineer (Ir./PE recognised by BEM).

I’m currently based in Penang. Does anyone know where I can find an Ir./PE who could assist with certified true copy (CTC) for BEM registration? Or any recommended engineering consultancy/Ir. in Penang?

Thank you very much.

What to do next

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate some advice and guidance regarding my current situation and future direction in life.
I’m a Malaysian citizen, but I moved to India when I was around 5 years old due to my father’s job. Growing up, I only came back to Malaysia during school holidays. I completed all my schooling and eventually my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in India.
After graduating, I decided to return to Malaysia because I genuinely wanted to try building my life and future here. I’ve now been working for about 2.5 years in the same company as a Process / Product Engineer. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert yet, but I’m constantly learning, improving, and gaining experience step by step.
At the same time, I’m also trying to upskill myself because I’m interested in transitioning into design engineering in the future. Right now, I honestly don’t have much knowledge or experience in design, but I’m planning to start learning seriously on the side and slowly build my skills.
Another challenge for me is language. Since I grew up in India, I mainly used English, so I never became fluent in Malay. Recently, I’ve been putting effort into learning Malay because I really want to integrate better into Malaysian society and feel more connected here. Currently, I’d say my understanding is around 70%, but my speaking is probably around 40%. I’m still improving gradually.
I’m turning 25 soon, and honestly I’m at a stage in life where I feel a bit lost about what my next step should be. Deep in my heart, I truly want to settle down and build my future in Malaysia. At the moment, my salary is RM3200.
I would really appreciate honest advice from people who may have gone through similar experiences or who can guide me on:
Career direction and growth
Whether transitioning into design engineering is a good move
How to improve myself professionally and personally
Tips for improving Malay faster
Financial and life planning for someone at my stage
Whether I’m on the right path to eventually settle down comfortably in Malaysia
Thank you so much in advance for any advice
