Stop using the term apprenticeship

Unless you are taking classes that result in a certification or actually joining a union you are not an apprentice. You are a lower paid employee who hopefully gets to learn on the job. You supply hand tools only as an apprentice. Never power tools.

Edit: boy, allot of guys but hey because their boss pays them less to make them feel special. It's like a participation award.

What kind of vile comments will come out of the WH over Gloria Steinem's death?

We know Trump won't stay silent.

To the home owners who want a jewlery box finish on their deck.

Learn how wood works please before you start. I can cut and install a perfect miter cut in the morning that looks like a blind man did it at the end of the day.

Curiosity… wires through downspout inside?

My company needed more outlets and a way to run Ethernet cables to a new work area, so they purchased a gutter/downspout and are running them as seen in the picture… (outlets on both sides)is this a safety concern? Should I call/who do I call if this is? I’m assuming it’s blatantly out of code, but I don’t think the city would care

Travel complaints

This isn't me bitching about travel times. This is me telling you what you signed up for. You want to work out of the hall. That's fine, don't complain about being out of work and the list. So you hook up with a good company that will keep you busy year round. Some jobs are close, some hours away. It's part of the life of a Journeyman. The company doesn't choose where the work is only what keeps the ball rolling.

You make the life work. Job is far away? At least there's no traffic to make it to the job on time. You most likely get out to beat the afternoon rush.

I've worked both and would choose travel over the inconsistency of the hall every time. Think long term benefit. I constantly added to my pension/ annuity. It made retiring early affordable. When I retired the hall told me and the friends who did the same they never saw funds of that magnitude.

End of my rant. Think of how you want to live.
