Lots going on in RVA all day on Saturday! Literally a jam packed Saturday. Got jampacked festival at Kanawha plaza (KSC was in it last year and I guess wanted them to be involved again but doing the after party this year as LDP). Black keys is also playing at Allianz on Saturday as well. Louis has a separate dead gig in RVA w the reckoning (Louis and some of RVAs finest covering dead reckoning album) at 7:30pm on Saturday at the Reveler and as soon as that’s done he will be making his way to Richmond music Hall to join up with LDP for the late night show.
Who am I going to see out in RVA on Saturday !?
I was there. This place rules. Non profit indoor/outdoor. Great vibes. Making Flippy Floppy into born under punches was mind blowing….hope they put up a nugs soundboard of this one. I posted a video of making Flippy Floppy below this post. Def recommend checking that out!
KSC is incredible. Don’t see a making Flippy Flippy cover too often and they absolutely nailed it. That sax was awesome!
A lot of their original sound definitely has some TH influence - although I’d say they have their own totally unique sound.
If you aren’t already familiar and are interested in checking out some new music, I def recommend checking out the KSC tune “wineglass television”. Will include a YouTube link below from a relix session they did a while back featuring wineglass tv:
“Virginia's Kendall Street Company are no strangers to having a wild time. The genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey's McGee and Widespread Panic, songwriting prowess of John Prine, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation, off-the-cuff comedic bits, haphazard choreography, musical improvisation, and surprise musical guests, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated.”
These guys are awesome and some have 757 roots! Heading up to Gloucester from VB in a couple of hours and wanted to give em a quick plug here if anyone in NN happens to be familiar or possibly interested checking em out!
Flat iron cross roads is also a really cool spot. But including a link below from a recent KSC show if anyone is interested in checking them out - show starts at 6:30pm. Should be a nice night!

Gonna be in Gloucester on Saturday for KSC but super bummed that I’m not going to be able to make this tonight in RVA….wanted to spread the word tho! Very excited to see this side project hopefully sooner rather than later!
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ?!?
Unfortunately can’t make this because I’ve got BMFS playing in my back yard tonight and tomorrow. But if you are in Raleigh and haven’t seen KSC….this is a solid opportunity to see something quite unique!

For anyone that didn’t know….Kendall Street Company was named after Kendall St. in Virginia Beach along Shore Drive on the Chesapeake Bay. The original logo of the sailboat (5th slide) is a depiction of the setting at Kendall St beach where the band developed a deep connection with the Chesapeake Bay. Much of their original music/lyrics give homage to the Chesapeake Bay & the aquatic creatures that make the CB eco-system their home.
KSC is partnering with Crawfish for a Cause, LAVA Presents, HeadyNet, & Grassfed Bluegrass in an effort to give back to the Chesapeake Bay (where the “Kendall Street” name was born).
Details for the overall fundraiser are on the 3rd slide (including the KSC Hot Dog Banger CBF benefit event at The Annex in Norfolk, VA on Friday 7/3) and here is a link below to the Bill Strings raffle part of the fundraiser - where you can win 2-day passes to both of the SOLD OUT Billy Strings shows in Portsmouth, VA on July 17th & 18th:

“The (Billy Strings raffle portion of the) fundraiser runs from June 12 through July 10, giving fans the opportunity to support an important cause while entering to win an incredible Billy Strings experience. This fundraiser is also part of a broader community effort that includes the July 3 Kendall Street Company Benefit Show (Hot Dog Banger), local sponsorships, silent auctions, and additional fundraising initiatives dedicated to supporting the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.”
*HOT DOG BANGER flyer on 2nd slide above….the event will also include a Hot Dog eating contest*

Greenfield Lake Amp is one of the coolest venues I’ve ever been too! Awesome set and cannot wait for KSC to play there again. We ran into Becca’s dad and Louis prior to the KSC set (slide for second pic). Big Something was great as well and we had an awesome time partying with their fan base! They brought on Louis, Jake, and Ryan for the encore which was Burning Down the House and pretty sure there is a video out there from it. So hopefully that will be posted here at some point! Also great getting to meet the big group of KSC fans that planned their Beach weekend around this show - we had a blast with you guys if you see this!
Can’t wait for the Hot Dog Banger on 7/3 in Norfolk!
Driving down with my buddy from Va Beach on Saturday morning. Quite familiar w KSC but very much looking forward to checking out Big Something & Jacoozy for the first time! Stoked on the lineup!
KSC has live-streamed on youtube the previous two nights in Cleveland and Indianapolis….hopefully they will live stream tonight 5/30 in Dayton as well!
