This season has to be the worst one yet when it comes to blatant cheating.

Since the start of the year, I'd only come across around four or five suspicious players in Multiplayer and another four or five in Warzone. Nothing too unusual.

But ever since this new season launched, it's been an absolute plague. It genuinely feels like every hacker came out of hibernation.

The funniest part is that this season they forced me to update my BIOS, and I honestly have to ask... for what? The result has been the complete opposite of what you'd expect. Cheating feels worse than ever.

Even on console, some players have aim assist that feels incredibly sticky. I've been using the REV-46, probably the best strafe weapon in the game, and I've had moments where certain console players' aim just seems glued to me.

Everything feels messed up right now, on both console and PC. To be honest, I was expecting something like this, especially with Nuke contracts back. They were always going to attract people looking for any advantage they could get.

To top it all off, I even ran into a cheater using the MWII Nuke operator skin who is still playing the game. Something in the anti-cheat system isn't working.

My Tier List of COD Multiplayer Games

Favorite – MWIII

My favorite Call of Duty multiplayer experience. The movement was excellent, the game received strong support throughout the year, the AMP conversions were a great addition, and the camo grind was enjoyable without being excessive. The maps were solid overall. Honestly, I have very little negative to say about this game.

OGs

As my first Call of Duty, MW2 will always be special to me. At the time, I was coming from CS, so COD felt completely different and I got hooked almost immediately. The only reason I don't place it in my Favorite tier is that support for games back then was very different compared to today.

MW19

I didn't enjoy it as much as the games above, but it was still a very good experience. More importantly, it brought me back to Call of Duty after years away. The standard multiplayer wasn't great in my opinion, but Ground War was absolutely fantastic and easily the highlight of the game for me.

Able to Have Fun – Vanguard & BO7

These are two very different games.

Vanguard was probably the easiest COD I've ever played. My theory is that most players hated it and moved on to other games, leaving behind a smaller player base that actually enjoyed the WWII setting. Despite all its flaws, I had fun with it. It almost felt like an alternate reality version of WW2. The weapons were also surprisingly enjoyable to use.

BO7 is a strange one. Mechanically, I think the game is good. The movement and gameplay systems work well, even if I'm not a fan of the futuristic setting. My biggest issue is team balancing. Out of every COD I've played, this is the one where matchmaking feels the most frustrating. When you lose eight or nine games in a row and then look at your teammates only to see that none of them can even maintain a positive K/D, something clearly isn't working with the team balancing system.

Disappointing – MWII

This game should have been better than MW2019, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. The maps were solid, but the gunplay was dragged down by the excessive visual recoil, smoke effects, and screen clutter. It was honestly embarrassing at times. The movement was another major step backwards. At the very least, they could have made it feel closer to the original MW2.

Worst COD – BO6

I don't even think I need to explain this one. It was terrible from start to finish for me. I only managed to put 23 hours into the multiplayer before completely giving up on it.

Warzone Ranked Hot take

I honestly think only players with at least a 1.0 K/D should be allowed to play Ranked.

The quality of some teammates I get is genuinely unbelievable. It often feels like certain players are being carried far beyond the rank they actually deserve. Ranked is supposed to be the competitive mode, yet I regularly end up with teammates who struggle with basic gunfights and decision making.

Another controversial opinion aim assist should be reduced by at least half in Ranked. I think it would create a much better balance between controller and MNK players and put more emphasis on skill rather than input advantages.

I also think HAVEN'S HOLLOW  should be removed from the Ranked rotation. It's by far my least favorite Ranked map. Regaining feels significantly harder than on the other maps, and too small. Personally, I'd be perfectly happy if Ranked was played exclusively on Fortune's Keep. The map has a better balance.

Collaborations I'd Like to See

The last few games have been a real disappointment, especially BO6. This year with MW4, I'd love to see them focus more on action movie collaborations. John Wick, for example, feels like an obvious choice and I doubt many people would complain about it.

I'd also like to see some classic action stars make an appearance. Why not Chuck Norris or Jean-Claude Van Damme? They fit the military-action vibe.

As for superheroes, the only ones I can really see fitting a more grounded cod setting would be The Punisher and Black Widow. They feel believable enough to blend into the game's world without completely breaking immersion.

When it comes to Halloween events, though, I don't mind seeing something more over-the-top. In that case, I'd actually prefer collaborations based on slasher movies, since horror icons fit the seasonal theme much better than random pop-culture crossovers.

Still, I think being able to create our own operator would be a much better feature, and we'd end up seeing a lot more variety in character designs and personal styles.

On top of that, it could be a huge source of revenue for them. They could sell cosmetic items such as clothing, different hairstyles, boots, tactical vests, military helmets, and other customization options. Players would have far more freedom to create a character that actually feels unique to them instead of everyone running the same operators.

Just an idea.

▲ 17 r/Fantasy

I finished The Sword of Kaigen and honestly I really didn’t enjoy it.

The biggest disappointment for me was the setting itself. I went into the book expecting a more traditional fantasy world, something that felt ancient, almost medieval, with Japanese inspiration and magic woven into it naturally. Instead, it ended up feeling way too contemporary with planes, technology and modern elements that completely killed the atmosphere I was hoping for.

Misaki was probably the only part of the book I genuinely liked. She felt like an actual layered character with regrets, emotions and history behind her. Every time the story focused on her, the book became more interesting. But her son did absolutely nothing for me. I found him annoying for most of the story and never built any emotional connection with him, which became a huge problem because the book clearly wants you to care deeply about his journey.

The worldbuilding also felt messy to me. You have tons of Japanese names and terms constantly thrown at you, but barely any explanation for what they mean, while at the same time other places and concepts suddenly have English names. It made the world feel inconsistent instead of immersive.

The reading experience itself was honestly boring for large portions of the book. It took me forever to get through some chapters because I just didn’t feel invested in what was happening. Even the magic system felt strange and unconvincing to me. Nothing about it really grabbed my imagination.

I can understand why some people love this book emotionally, especially because of Misaki, but overall it just wasn’t for me at all.

NXT Has Become My Favorite WWE Show

Right now, NXT is the WWE show I enjoy watching the most. I’ve always been a huge fan of NXT because I love seeing a wrestler arrive still very green and then watching them grow and evolve over time.

But now I’d even go as far as saying that, for me, NXT manages to do more in less time than the main roster shows, more matches, more backstage segments and on top of that, I genuinely think it has the best women’s roster in wrestling today.

Everyone gets their time to shine. Even if some talent don’t appear every single week, they still get their moments every other week.

Maybe this is a hot take

Unfortunately this year anyone who plays BR big map basically has no solos. We’re forced to play with randoms and most of the time it’s a horrible experience. Honestly, the moment I open the game I already lose motivation to play because I know there’s a high chance the experience is going to be bad.

I think the game would benefit far more from a feature where you could choose what type of teammates you want to be matched with instead of forcing completely different playstyles together. There could be options for players who want to go for high kills, more strategic gameplay, sniping, early rotations, and so on.

Another thing would be matching teammates closer to your actual skill. Let’s be honest, bad players usually don’t care whether they have good teammates or not. They just want to open loot crates, make a push with no plates, die instantly and sometimes not even bother going to the gulag and quit. Meanwhile, players actually trying to win end up frustrated because 90% of the time they’re stuck dealing with that kind of teammate.

Good JGOD video about Warzone

JGOD addresses some of the things that Warzone has been doing terribly. I think he makes a great summary of what Warzone has been up to so far.

Types of players I keep getting when playing with randoms

The “pro player” (like TackleOk1006). Dies within five seconds of the first landing, loses the gulag with two bullets fired into the sky, you buy him back and he lands in the exact same spot just to die instantly again. You somehow buy him back a second time and he decides to land 300 meters away from the squad, directly on a team that just bought loadout. He gets deleted faster than a blink of an eye and instantly rage quits.

The fake supporter. This one follows you everywhere. If you stop to plate, he stops too. If you enter a building, he enters behind you. But the second a gunfight starts, he suddenly disappears into a dark corner waiting for you to die first. Then, once the entire enemy team has reset plates and reloaded, he finally decides to push alone like he’s the main character. Dies immediately.

The DMZ player. This guy only cares about opening loot crates. One after another after another. Has 20k cash, refuses to buy UAVs, plates, loadout or literally anything useful. I honestly don’t know if he thinks the money transfers into real life after the match ends.

The solo player. This one genuinely forgets he has teammates. Lands 800 meters away from the squad, dies two minutes later, skips gulag by rage quits before anyone can even react.

The recon addict. No matter what happens, he only wants recon contracts. Doesn’t matter if the squad already knows every final circle possible, he still wants another recon “for information.” Then after all that effort, he chooses the worst possible position to hold.

The sniper trio. Sometimes you get three randoms all running snipers, but somehow the three together still can’t hit a single shot. They’re usually using some ancient Legacy weapon build with the worst attachments possible.

The nervous one. You look at his level and he’s level 20. You watch him moving around and the guy is completely lost. Looks left, looks right, sees a rock in the distance and starts shooting because he thought it moved. The moment an actual gunfight starts, his brain shuts down and instead of shooting enemies he somehow blocks your vision by standing directly in front of you.

The horse-blinders player. Completely blind to human movement. An enemy could parachute onto his head wearing neon pink and this guy still wouldn’t notice. Even AI bots have more awareness. At least bots eventually react. This one just stares into space waiting for death to arrive naturally.

The buy station philosopher. This guy takes 45 seconds to use a buy station while the entire squad is getting pushed. He stands there carefully analysing every option like he’s solving world hunger. By the time he finally buys plates, the team is already dead.

The backseat commander. Dead within the first minute, but suddenly becomes a military strategist once spectating. Constantly screaming “push that!”, “why are you there?!”, “he’s one shot!” even though the enemy is fully plated and you’re fighting for your life against three people.

The TikTok movement demon. Slides, jumps, spins, cancels animations and breaks his own ankles every two seconds. Looks absolutely incredible right until he runs into a wall, misses every bullet and dies to a guy standing completely still.

The loadout addict. This one would rather die than use ground loot for more than 20 seconds. Doesn’t matter if there are five squads around the loadout drop, he’s going for it. You already know what happens next.

The AFK returner. Gone for the first five minutes of the match. Comes back after dying in the gas and casually says “sorry bro”

Those are the species I’ve been matched with so far.

Avalon Map Thoughts

After playing a few matches already, I think it’s safe to say I really like the map. I don’t think it’s the best map ever, but for me it’s easily top 3. The POIs actually feel different from each other, unlike Urzikstan where every POI felt the same and randomly placed. With Avalon, you can tell the map was properly designed.

There’s a lot of loot, even in areas that look empty at first. I also like that there are more open-field areas it forces you to rotate earlier, and with the grapple hooks you can cross those zones pretty easily.

So far Trinity Stadium, Low Town and Winery are my favorite POIs.

It’s a shame this map sat in the drawer for a whole year. It should’ve released last year, and this year we should’ve gotten another new map instead of them wasting time on Black Ops Royale.

Now please release Solos already because I’m tired of Quads!!!

I’m a bit picky, I don’t like magic that feels too unrealistic or futuristic and I prefer series that don’t already have many books released, more standalones or trilogies. I enjoy worlds like The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and The First Law.

I’ve noticed that since BO6, basically no one on my friends list plays anymore. Back in the Caldera days I had around 10–15 ‘friends’; that year some stopped playing, but I also met new players who ended up joining my list. With MWII, which a lot of people say they didn’t like, pretty much everyone stuck around, some are even still playing DMZ today. With MWIII, I saw that I lost a few. But since BO6, almost all of them have stopped playing regularly, even with Verdansk coming back. And now with BO7, I currently have 14 friends at level 1 who haven’t even played at all. At the moment, I’ve got 2 active friends who play from time to time, and even then they’re almost never online.

I tried to play today (Sunday), and it tells me I can’t play because one or more party members are in limited matchmaking for not being verified, when I’m playing solo. Last Sunday it was the same thing. They can’t get anything to work right the first time either they shadowban people in freerun, or it’s this, and if it’s not this, they’ll find some other way to mess it up.

I started with Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Chaser, Counter-Strike: Source, Day of Defeat, COD MW2, COD Black Ops, COD MW3, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, PUBG, and all CODs from MW19 up until now.

Single player: Black (PS2), GoldenEye 007, Far Cry 4 and 5.

I’ve also tried Apex, Battlefield V and Battlefield 2042, and Fortnite.

The First Law — I didn’t enjoy the first chapter. That whole scene with Logen and the Shanka didn’t really hook me. But from chapter three onwards, that’s when it really clicked. And I loved it. I liked the story, and it has some really interesting characters, especially Sand dan Glokta. For me, he’s one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever seen, not just in books but even compared to film. Honestly, I see him as the true protagonist of the story. I also liked how magic is handled in the world it’s subtle, not over-the-top, and I really appreciate that. A lot of people say it’s similar to Game of Thrones, and yeah, I can see that, but I think it’s easier to follow. There aren’t as many characters and it feels more straightforward. The world is also easy to visualize, although I do wish the book had a map. I’m the kind of reader who likes to check where things are whenever a new place is mentioned.

The Age of Madness — This one also has interesting characters. My favorites were Savine and Rikke. You can clearly see how the world evolved from the first trilogy, but the whole Breakers and Burners theme felt a bit boring to me, probably because it reminds me of the French Revolution, which I don’t like. I enjoyed it more whenever they weren’t the focus. I also noticed that the references to Logen felt a bit overdone at times less would’ve been enough. Overall, even though it’s not my favorite part of the series, I still found the first trilogy more interesting, especially everything related to the North. The ending also felt a bit anticlimactic. I was expecting something more shocking. Still, I had a good time with it.

Now I just have the standalones left. I’m really curious to read Best Served Cold.
