Looking back can be odd.
Surely the wipe will keep players retained.

Trying to load into a match of narsh for 10 minutes and then game throws this at me even when it's at half of its 24h peak right now. What do?
I made a list of complaints I see people often complaining about, so in order to complete the Ouroboros of complaints, I made a list of common complaints I've seen. This definitely isn't just a list of my own personal complaints I have with the game. Also I marked it a schizo post myself because I thinking I'm losing my mind.
Also also, this list was actually just something I wrote in response to someone complaining about complaints.
Technical issues like invisible corpses and trees being low res.
Enemies phasing through objects like walls or the terrain.
The fact that prior to the supply FRV, the last major order stratagem reward was over a year and a half ago.
Game features working incorrectly or being downright non-functional, especially ones attached to warbond adjacent items like the fire bug.
The lack of leveling and end game rewards.
The lack of ship upgrades since release.
Having too many samples but nothing to use them on.
The monetization strategy.
The enforcement of a meta despite Arrowhead's insistence of trying to not promote a meta (examples: burrowing strain bugs, the hive guard changes, the removal of armor stripping charger legs).
The strange decisions like the existence of the warstrider's design or the immediate buffing of all enemys' durable damage after releasing a tank.
The poor explanations of things like durable damage, the original galactic warmap, or planet's health (why isn't the Helldivers 2 companion app just integrated into the game).
Arrowhead's history of broken promises and lies.
The few customization options for only primaries that has not been expanded since (and it's apparently the player's faults when the majority of worthwhile mods are only on random weapons that Arrowhead seemed to pull out of a hat).
The fact that legendary warbonds cost more and offers weapons that are often notably weaker while also having no mods at all or levels.
Arrowhead's insistence on controlling what the player can do (example: removing armor stripping charger legs).
Arrowhead's historically lackluster community management (examples: Spitz in general, Baskinator having a history of gaslighting players, the charity incident, the cultivation of toxic positivity).
The incidents involving the Helldivers community.
What happened to Eravin.
Arrowhead's strict vision on how things work and should work (examples: them not understanding physics. Them not understanding stealth. Alexus specifically failing to understand the concept of tunnel, I'm talking about baffles. Arrowhead refusing to make the stim pistol have lock on because people would only ever use it then).
The lack of customization cosmetically.
Arrowhead's inconsistent vision (the DP-8 doesn't fit the themeing of passives nor the naming conventions nor the design rules they set up. Cowboy/slouch hats are off the table because they're not used militarily, when they are. It'd be better if AH just said they don't like them, that'd be fine. But lamellar/scaled armor is all good?).
Their failure to set up an in game method of reporting when a perfectly viable one exists on their website.
The AMA where Pilesdt essentially told everyone just how out of touch AH is.
The multiple times AH cited technical limitations only to be disproven by hackers and modders.
Did I mention you can farm super credits (but you find less POIs higher levels, and when you do find them they offer no difference in quantity meaning there's more incentive to farm super credits in lower level missions that are more boring).
Railroading through modifiers and BS.
The updates that always break something randomly (remember a few weeks ago? The "upscaling"?).
The poor implementation of modifiers and subfactions like the mindless masses which have more enemies on the lower difficulties.
The excuse of spaghetti code whenever something happens.
The sterilizer.
The constant vacations (not entirely their fault, but I'm asking you what you're tired of seeing complaints about).
The fact the Sweden isn't as cool as Finland (Simo Häyhä).
The balance tilting to one side constantly and never being addressed.
The subpar passives and equipment AH releases.
The lack of player avenues to petition of change other than through complaining.
mortality
Long winded lists about complaints.
People complaining about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints about complaints
Additions from u/veldyne:
neglected boosters and the never changing booster meta
exaggerated radius from explosions to force constant ragdolling (hulk/tank death explosion, spore plants)
arrowhead's obsession with tank spam on high difficulty instead of spawning more enemies
arrowhead's obsession with fog
arrowhead's obsession with spreadsheet min-max balancing
arrowhead's obsession with limiting high ground for the player (bouncy stratagems/hellpod steering)
arrowhead's obsession with nerfing things the majority approves (hulk surge nerf)
arrowhead's obsession with getting one guy'd on social media
arrowhead's inability to learn from their mistakes (they fix the leviathan just to add war striders, they """fix""" war striders just to add a ragdolling bile titan)
war strider's terrible design but also lagging the game (the only automaton with AP4 heatsink, more ragdoll spam via multiple explosions costing a lot of CPU power)
stealth buffs to enemies (recently the charger no longer raises its butt on a failed charge)
gimped weapons that need a bandaid passive to feel good
status effects being broken since release
Nprotect gameguard being borderline malware
content bloat making the menus terrible to navigate
Was playing quickplay on damnation and this one vet kept getting killed (not just knocked) and was blaming everyone else, so I started arguing with him in text chat. Using game chat isn't super easy on console so I turned my headset on to talk to him and he just started losing it. At some point he got killed by a daemon host (he ran into it) so he had more time to complain. Eventually our psyker asked what was happening so I said "he's fighting demons. And losing, daemonhost case in point." Yes, I was very proud of myself and I know it's stupid. But then after complaining some more he dropped the line "she's not gonna fuck you dude". I honestly had no idea who he was talking about, I asked if he meant the daemonhost (I said I'd interesting of course) but I eventually realized he meant my character. For reference, my character was a female arbites and I'm not actually a woman, nor do I sound very feminine. He didn't realize the person talking was the person he'd been arguing with earlier and thought I was white knighting for my character, which I said I definitely was. It was pretty funny. Until he started using slurs. That was less funny.
Also what's everyone's cybermastiff's name? Mine is Obliviaberis because I like to think it's what the enemies hear right before my cybermastiff gets them. When I'm definitely not just talking to myself and saying what good girl she is, I just call her Oblivia.
I mean think about it. There's this idea that the illuminate are the most horrifying faction to fight against because one day you might recognizd one of the faces, but would a Helldiver really? I mean Helldivers are indoctrinated to a degree only comparable IRL to the IJA and IJN, so there's that. Then there's the fact that Helldivers have very short life spans on the ground, so a Helldiver is already bred to not care, but would they even have time to emotionally process anything? And that's not to mention the natural adrenaline of combat or being dropped straight into combat from cryo, or even the stims... It doesn't matter if you recognize one of the voteless or a face in the flesh mob because a Diver is probably too high off the adrenaline to care before they die, if they even can care.
But imagine this. You're an illuminate trained to fight against an unseen force you've been told slaughtered your people. You're on patrol when something crushes one of your brethren. They're just gone in a second. No warning. No glory. Just splat. A second later your enemy rises from a hole your friend was just standing. They throw something on the ground and a beam of light shoots up from it. A moment later, a giant laser beam is coming from the sky destroying whatever you were protecting. It's from far higher up and far more accurate than your people's leviathans. Then they throw another one, and a black aircraft strafes a platoon, killing everyone. The aircraft was faster than your stingrays. And unlike your stingrays, there's no visual indicator as to where it's aiming. You kill the enemy that killed your friend, you even felt like you avenged them. It doesn't matter. Another beam of light shoots up, but no laser comes down. No strafe happens. You're lucky and don't get crushed, almost as though they were trying to crush you but some unseen force prevented them from maneuvering. Another enemy rises from the dirt. They're wearing the same armor. Using the same weapons. They run over to their predecessor's corpse and pick up their gear. They don't care. Your people contort their civilians into weapons, a justified measure you're assured, but they don't care, it's almost like they enjoy killing them. You can kill the enemy over and over again, but a new identical one takes their place. It's not a uniform, as different ones wear different stuff, it's like the ones you kill never die. They just keep coming over and over again until they destroy everything you swore to protect, or they abruptly stop.
I'd say that's a lot scarier than being a coked up kid without the capacity to care being dropped onto a world you've been told you were destined to become a hero on all your life. I imagine that to the bots and squids Helldivers are a lot like bugs. Mindless beasts following the orders of some unseen hivemind who could not care about their or anyone else's lives. Constantly cannabalizing themselves. And I think there's something special in that. I'd say Helldivers are less the subjects of psychological warfare than they are the source of psychological warfare.
I don't play PD3 often, but I decided to hop into a cook off match on very hard. We had two like high level players one in the high hundreds and one at like a thousand and two low levels, myself included
Everything was fine, until the high levels left to extract, and we (the low levels) tried to join them but got downed. I thought, this is fine they'll just pick us up or even just let us bleed out, but no. They kicked us. In a thirty minute plus mission we lost all our rewards because we got downed right at the end. I get it, it can be annoying. But in a game where the player count is a problem, I feel like maybe making the experience for other players worse, isn't the way to go about things.
That's all. I think I'm going to get off for a while now that I've been reminded why I stopped playing.
