Shared learning journey

A Shared Learning Journey

For everyone on this journey—most of us have probably discovered a few things along the way that genuinely made a difference. It could be a particular study resource or QBank, a helpful YouTube channel, advice about USCE or observerships, electives and rotations, residency applications, finding rotating rooms and accommodation, productivity tools, or simply someone’s personal experience that helped us avoid a mistake.

I think it would be incredibly valuable if we could share those resources, tips, and lessons with each other. What worked for you might save someone else hours of research, money, or unnecessary stress.

So, if you’ve come across something that genuinely helped you during this journey, please share it here—whether it’s a resource, website, tool, contact, strategy, or a lesson you wish you had known earlier. Let’s make the journey a little easier for everyone.

You can dm me, if you have any ideas, thoughts! Im planning to start for each segment from the contribution i get!

Ds160 form fillup

I have a doubt. I have already filled out my DS-160, but I now want to update a few details. Since I have received the invitation letter, there is an option asking, “Have you made specific travel plans?” If I select “Yes,” it asks me to provide the date of arrival, arrival flight, arrival city, date of departure, departure flight, departure city, and accommodation details.

Should I fill in these details now? I haven’t booked my flight tickets yet (although I’m planning to book them soon, and I understand that the flight number is not mandatory). For accommodation, it is asking for the location as well.

My interview is scheduled for the last week of September, while my rotation starts in November. So, should I enter my expected travel details now, even though I haven’t finalized my flights or accommodation yet?

Can i bring updated/ new ds160 before my US visa interview

I have a B1/B2 visa appointment in India. My VAC/biometrics is on Aug 13 and my consular interview is on Sept 24.

I asked the visa service desk if I can submit a corrected DS-160. They said to bring both the original and corrected DS-160 confirmation pages to the VAC.

But they didn’t mention the consular interview.

Can I submit a new DS-160 after my VAC but before my consular interview, and use the corrected DS-160 at the interview while keeping my existing appointment?

Need some advice from people who’ve been through the U.S. B1/B2 visa process for clinical electives

Asking for a friend, mbbs intern doc from india.

“My visa interview is scheduled for September 23, and my clinical elective starts on September 28, so there’s only a 5-day gap.

I’ve been trying to find an earlier appointment but haven’t had any luck so far.

For those who’ve been in a similar situation:

* Should I keep my current appointment ?

* Should I cancel and keep looking for an earlier slot, even though nothing is available right now?

* Has anyone received their passport back within 5 days after a B1/B2 visa approval?

* Would requesting an expedited appointment be a reasonable option for a confirmed clinical elective?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice. Thanks in advance!

US visa interview

Has anyone recently attended the interview or is familiar with the process? Could you please guide me?

Im still need to create a ds160 form

but I’m unsure about some of the practical details—for example, whether I should book my Airbnb before the interview, what to say if I’m asked about my accommodation or travel plans, and how best to prepare for the interview overall. Any tips or advice based on your experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Looking for serious Step 2 study partners

We will post schedule on topic and subtopics and we follow it.

Everyone follows their own study schedule. Sessions will continue every day, even if I’m unable to attend.

Why - 1) consistency

Session format:

Before session begins

* Each member prepares 3–5 concept-based questions from UWorld before the meeting.

* We discuss the concepts, clinical reasoning, and why the incorrect options are wrong.

* We then solve additional UWorld questions together.

I believe actively creating and answering questions leads to much better understanding and retention than simply reviewing explanations.

If you’re committed to active learning and can participate consistently, DM me to join.

Any advice pls

Ofc appoint

Hey everyone, I have two questions regarding my US B1/B2 visa process and would really appreciate any help!

Question 1: I booked my OFC appointment but I'm getting a new passport after the OFC date. Will this be a problem at the visa interview?

Question 2: Do I need to update my DS-160 with the new passport number before the OFC or is it okay to do it before the visa interview?

Thanks in advance!
