OK so I've wanted to post this somewhere on reddit for a while, and I figured now is good bc I'm bored.
I'm curious about the namesakes of all the famous roads we have around town. So many roads start in Dallas and sprawl out in every direction, like Custer, Coit, Hillcrest, Park, Mockingbird, and even in roads in nearby suburbs like McDermott or Josey.
If you've got the lowdown on the origins or namesakes of any of Dallas's famous roadways, like when and why they were built, what came before them etc, I wanna hear it! I remember hearing a while back that part of 75 in downtown was originally a black neighborhood that was bulldozed to make way for Central Expressway, and it got me thinking. Ofc I can just google stuff like this but a discussion is always better.
Immediately thought of MySummerCar. The way it rolled out the exact same way 🤣
I was just inspired by a comment on another post to ask this. Who’s a character you just straight up hate who’s not a Simpson? My immediate vote is Mrs. Lovejoy. Can’t stand the hag, and I honestly think the Reverend would be a much better character without her influence.
For context, I am 6 feet 0 inches, and weigh 250lbs. That means my BMI is currently 33. It’s been that way for some time. Many many years. For my bmi to be over 36 I’d have to weigh at least 270. Can’t say I have in this decade.
Now the issue of comorbidity. I have high blood pressure and hypertension because a doctor misprescribed ADHD medication when I was younger. I almost died at 12. I weighed 70 pounds back then. I didn’t get fat until junior year of high school.
My high blood pressure has never been a complication of my weight, and I have to tell my doctor that every time I visit. That’s infuriating on its own, but this is in the MyChart portal. That means anytime I visit a hospital or another physician they can see this and assume things about my health. It gets me treated differently. THAT I have a major problem with.
I’m waiting for my virtual visit now so I can get my damn anxiety medication that I’ve been without lately because I couldn’t afford the visit due to lack of insurance, funnily enough, and I’m anxiously wondering if I should confront her about this. Yes I’m obese, but I’m also not suffering because of it. I have a belly, THATS IT.
Alyssa took a Rupaul slipup and spun it into fucking GOLDDDDD! Incredible show that featured new voices in gay country music and her incredible gay makeup artist 6.
This queen just got done performing Annie Lennox's Little Bird at Alyssa's final show in Dallas for the Alicia Edward's tour! I didn't catch her name but she killed it! Someone in Dallas identify her!!!
Hey yall!
So as many have seen, yesterday and today, around Noon local time Ticketmaster and Obsessed began emailing and texting ticket holders for the Titans 2 tour, informing them that the Boulets would not be making an appearance at the Austin and Houston shows. In their place, Blackberri and Ian are taking the stage, which is agreeably less exciting, but still better than canceling the stops all together, and I'm grateful they are appearing on no notice.
With Dallas tomorrow, do we feel it's likely they won't make an appearance there either, and what do we think forced them to pull back from the tour on such short notice? I pray it's not health related as has been in the past, but I did think it could be filming related, perhaps for another project they're working on.
Here's hoping they can make it, but if not, I'm disappointed but excited to see what Ian and Blackberri do in their place. I know Blackberri is a killer performer and I'm going to get a show. Let's make the best of it!
