Worst record warping I’ve ever seen

Thought I was lucky finding this record at the thrift store and was surprised by how warped it is, especially considering it still has the folder and sleeve. I’m thinking of finding a way to mount it on my wall as it’s a bit mesmerizing.

Visited Zion for the first time in July

Stayed 2 nights at the South Campground on a whim while heading home on a road trip.

  1. View from Emerald Pools trail
  2. South Campground Night Sky
    3-6. The Narrows
  3. Deer strolling through the South Campground

Photo 6 is a warning to be careful and bring a walking stick to The Narrows. I admittedly didn’t do much research beforehand and didn’t understand why everyone had them on the shuttle.
I had made it 2.5 hours in and under stepped over a rock I thought was smaller, slipping and hitting my knee into the corner of the rock. I had ACL knee surgery 2 years ago in that spot so for a moment I wondered if I would be stuck there alone. Thankfully after a while I could move my leg and was able to make the way out.
Especially with the silty water I’d recommend renting or bringing a stick to test the depths, it’s not worth the risk.

Had my first camping trip alone for 2 weeks

I drove around 4,220 miles through 7 states in the US. My favorite campsite was one in Wyoming where I had a beach on a river to myself for 3 days. I learned so much more about the National Park System and all the places I want to see.
I’m now dreaming of backpacking through the mountains, especially the Beartooth or Bridger-Teton Wilderness. I need to learn how to be a bit more brave before trying backpacking though, I find some comfort in others being in screaming distance.

Explored the Beartooth Wilderness last month and I’ve been dreaming of it since

I stayed July 24th at the Beartooth Lake campground, getting the last first come first serve campsite at around 1pm. I had just left Yellowstone the night before and learned about the Beartooth Highway by others I met on the road who lived in Cody, Wyoming.

It was a perfect day (around 70°F) with a nice breeze, I hiked from a trailhead located at the campground starting around 2pm, I didn’t have a clue where it went but I figured I’d just walk back when I got bored. The start was walking through countless streams and muddy areas but as it went into the hills it became solid and rocky. The mosquitoes swarmed me if I stopped for even a second so I used it as motivation to keep going with minimal breaks. (dousing myself with bug spray didn’t do a thing) I saw storm clouds in the distance and started hearing thunder along the way.
I listened to horror stories as I continued on alone, not seeing a single person, only knowing I was still on the right trail through the old shoe marks in the dirt. I started the first Game of Thrones audiobook on the way out and it was a perfect experience with the environment. It felt like a dream.

By the time it was 5:30 I knew I had to head back, so that I would have light but also to outrun the storm. I made it back at around 8pm and heated a can of chili as the freezing rain made it to the campground and I retreated into my tent after a successful day.

Even though it was just a day, this leg on my camping trip really showed me that I’d love to try backpacking in the future, because the lakes I made it to would have been a beautiful place to stay, and to continue from.
I don’t know anyone who would go with me though and I don’t feel comfortable staying in the wilderness alone just yet so it seems far off, but I can’t get it out of my head.

I can only bring one on my two week camping trip, inflatable kayak or road bike?

This is a rough outline of what I’m going to try, I may end up cutting through Colorado and Utah instead of Texas.

I only have space in the back of my car for one but not both.
The road bike could allow for good exercise in the right areas and the freedom to leave my car, but the tires wouldn’t allow for off-roading.

The inflatable kayak would be great for the lakes along the way to see more areas i wouldn’t be able to otherwise. Because it’s inflatable though I should still probably only fish from the shores and there’s always a chance of springing a leak anyways.

If you have been through these parks or areas let me know which you would choose.
Would you think there’s enough paved road to make a road bike worthwhile? Or do you think the option of being on the water could be more worth it.

I’m leaning toward bringing the bike but let me know which you would choose :)

How can I avoid caking in my eye creases?

I don’t currently have a primer, could that be the cause? Please recommend me types that may work in this area :)

I’ve had strong wrinkles there since I was a baby and I’m never sure how to counteract them.

Currently using:

-NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Vanilla L2)
-NARS Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation (Mont Blanc)
-MAC Fixit Multitasking Setting Spray
-Beauty Blender for blending
