Megatron, Megaplex, and vintage era Micro Change KO

For those who missed it, FansProject released a Scramble City styled brand new combiner, the theory from some people being that it is a devolved Computron

Alongside this and the less good Impossible Toys Tetra-Jet seekers, Alpha Trion and Quintessons, they are the only 3P toys which really come close to nailing the G1 aesthetic

But which is which? Legend has it they swapped names during production, which makes sense give the colouration

I've shared the early issues in photos before, so thought I'd share something different.

We always had Transformers comics in the house, but there was something special about getting these exact copies of Complete Works reprints of #1-8 (US 1-4) for Christmas in 1986 and 1987

I cannot find the small purple gun anywhere, but apparently I do have it. Nice gimmick on this where the turning wheels make the gun barrels rattle forward and backward. You can tell it's an 1988 Pretender because the robot body is big and transforms like all the others.

Yes, it's gold. Yes, I am aware. No, I did not break it (although it has very minor damage, it still displays the best out of the two I own). I won't be transforming the inner robot or the plastic Pretender shell for obvious reasons

Imagine designing Great Robot Base, kickstarting Robotech with the Macross Valkyrie, and the bot who would become Optimus Prime by the time you're 23!

Nice to see them side by side, even if the Japanese box isn't in great condition. I will not be keeping both sadly, just too much space.
