AI disruption in Finance Industry

AI used for formatting
Looking for some honest advice

I'm a software/ML engineer with about 2.5 years of experience at a major international bank

I've always been curious about the core banking world — credit, risk, treasury, maybe even eventually the investing side.

1)Does it make sense to pursue CFA while continuing in tech and then MBA(after L1 so that I can get finance internship), with the goal of eventually transitioning into a more core finance role?

2)I Do masters in Stats ,Math instead of MBA

What is the AI Impact on core finance

reddit.com

Left a chill MNC banking role(java) for a "fast-paced" AI startup. 60% hike, but severe burnout, toxic leadership, and moving goalposts. Is AI/ML development hectic everywhere?

I’m in a massive dilemma and need some perspective from folks who have been in the AI/ML and startup space for a while.

My Background: Previously, I was working at a large multinational bank. The work-life balance (WLB) was good (not on release month). My tech stack was primarily Spring Boot, but during my last 2–3 months there, I got to do some AI Rag based Project.

Wanting to dive deeper into heavy AI ML Domain, I decided to leave the MNC and joined a startup that is building advanced AI products. They offered me a 60% hike, I joined

4 months down the line

I’ve been here for a bit now, and it’s completely unsustainable.

  • The leadership team has zero clarity on the actual product. Features and requirements change at the absolute last minute.
  • We are expected to work late nights and weekends. If you don't show up or log in on a Saturday
  • The level-1 and level-2 leadership have been with the company for 10+ years and hold significant equity. They willingly work day and night because they own a piece of the pie. However, they expect us to work also

What I want to know is ML/AI roles in MNC are this hectic or not?
or I should move back to JAVA Spring boot .

help in deciding DeepTech and MBA

Hi folks I need to know views on this,

I am keen to leave the IT sector because the cash cow is going to stop in next few years so I am left with 2 options now , currently I hold a mechanical engineer degree f

1)do a MBA from tier 1

2)do a master's in electrical or semiconductor

I don't want to be a part of industry where bootcampers are welcomed with some entry to the barrier so that once I enter the industry my value is retained.

Need stable career with good pay for next 15 years

I am inclined towards deeptech path but what's your opinion.

Any one can dm for helping me out

help between choosing DeepTech VS MBA Finance

People, I really want to upgrade my career, but I’m confused between 3 paths. I’m open to pursuing a master’s degree.

Software / AI / ML / DS

Core engineering — VLSI, power electronics, robotics, deeptech

MBA / Finance / CFA

The problem is that IT work in category 1 feels uncertain after AI tools like Claude. Everyone in my company is able to do similar work now, so it feels like the moat is shrinking. I have 3 years of experience in banking tech with Spring Boot and later joined an AI team, but I still rely on Claude a lot.

For category 2, I’m interested in core engineering fields like robotics and semiconductors. I also have a BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering from a tier-1 college.

For category 3, pursuing an MBA seems financially rewarding, but the working hours look brutal, and honestly, I need some balance. I can do 6–7 hours of focused work consistently, but not much beyond that.

For me, cracking entrance exams for admission would not be a major issue.

Need help deciding.
