How do you NOT be scared of spiders?

The only spider I've warmed up to so far are jumping spiders, so cute! I felt SO bad when I attempted to save one, but my mom took the cup and chucked it outside 💀 I just hope he or she lives. Not gonna lie I was still chickening out a great deal when it was in my bathroom. I wore gloves, and a long sleeved jacket before catching it.

Wolf spiders on the other hand give me goosebumps and chills up my spine when I see them. So how do you not be scared of them?? How do you genuinely start loving them?

What to expect at a Collin College Foundation Scholarship Dinner?

I recently won a scholarship, but we are required to attend a dinner where we get to celebrate and meet our donors. I do not know what to expect because I have never done anything like this. How does it usually go? What should I expect? Are any of you going as well?

What kind of accommodations to ask for in college/university?

I'm signing up for accommodations in college for the first time, but I'm not sure what to ask for. The one that would help me the most is more time on assignments. What did you guys ask for?

Tiktok "y2k" is not the same as the actual 2000s we grew up with

It's honestly really cool seeing younger generations become interested in the 2000s. Seeing old fashion, music, and trends come back is fun, and I'm glad people are appreciating that era.

I think a lot of the 2000s nostalgia content online is HEAVILY dominated by younger Gen Z (2005+) and Gen Alpha instead of the people that actually grew up with it.

They are absolutely allowed to enjoy it, and it makes me happy to see it getting the love it deserves, but let's not pretend some of the TikTok trends based on the 2000s were actually exactly how things were like back then.

It isn't their fault either, because some of them either didn't grow up with it or weren't old enough to remember. Their idea of that era comes from what they see online or what is trendy today.

With that being said, I would like to see more of people our age make content with this nostalgia while using our own knowledge instead of recycling what's circulating online. I see lots of great nostalgia content created this way, but fewer in numbers.

Does anyone remember when checking signal for satellite Dish had a creepy sound?

We had Dish Network in particular. I remember around these specific years 2003-2006, when we would experience a signal loss, the TV would show this page with a bunch of dials/long rectangles. When it played my mom would run outside to mess with the satellite dish until it worked again. I remember seeing the colors red and green in particular. But it had this very creepy, loud, somewhat annoying beeping sound. As annoying as an amber alert but more of a loud, high-pitched beep and not a buzz.

I am trying to find videos of this on Youtube but with no luck. The closest I could find is modern beep tests for satellite networks, but they don't sound creepy or unsettling at all.

How do you drive with CDS/SCT?

I'm in my mid-20s, and I am already learning to drive (I know). I struggled severely with these symptoms + ADHD to the point that I don't know directions to places despite having lived there for years. I got diagnosed recently. I zone out as a passenger. My processing speed is low + chronic sleep deprivation, and it makes it harder to drive. But I'm grateful to learn with adequate supervision. The good news is I've started Strattera recently & HOPEFULLY might be prescribed a stimulant soon. I pray to god that things will improve.

OK, nuff about me. Has this disorder made it difficult for you guys to drive or learn driving? How did you manage? How about medicated vs. unmedicated? I would greatly appreciate tips.

My Experience w/ Straterra (Starting from Day 1)

I suffer from innattentive ADHD and maybe even CDS symptoms. I also have restlessness and maybe a few symptoms of the hyperactive version. Some of symptoms are low processing speed, feeling lethargic and slow, task initation, and distractibility. My psychiatrist prescribed it because I have sleep issues.

I am making this for those of you who haven't tried Straterra yet or are early in the process so you can know what it's like :)

Day 1 July 18:

So far no horrible symptoms. I felt strangely wired almost like on caffiene when it peaked in a few hours, but my reaction time was unnaturally faster and it lessened late night. It's not even a particularly "good" energy or focus, but my mind was thinking too fast which I didn't mind. So far so good!

Taking Stimulation Medications ADHD WITH Insomnia

I have chronic sleep issues, insomnia, and ADHD. I take a sleep med to help with that. My doctors have discouraged me from taking a stimulant medication for ADHD, and maybe instead Strattera because stimulant medications cause insomnia.

How do you guys deal with this? I have both chronic insomnia and severe ADHD symptoms and I don't know what to do.
