Abnormal Thyroid tests after iron infusion

My thyroid tests have always been within normal ranges. I got an iron iv infusion for low iron and low ferritin about 2 weeks ago. I got my thyroid tested a week after infusions and then another week after that. My labs had come back abnormal for low TSH and high T4. I thought it was my prenatal vitamins causing issues with the high biotin skewing the results, that’s why I retook it one week later after stopping the vitamins. The tests were still abnormal. I did a little AI research and came across iron IVs temporarily altering thyroid levels as your body recalibrates from the infusion. Is this true? Has anyone ran into the same situation? I reached out to my endocrinologist as I already had hormonal issues in the past. But wanted to see if anyone else dealt with the same occurrence. AI said I should wait to retest around 8-12 weeks after infusion for all tests.

I found relief!!!

I have been dealing with dyshidrosis for the past week. This is my first time experiencing this and was using most of the suggestions on this sub like (Aquaphor, La Roche Posay Cicaplast, and diaper rash cream) but none of them seemed to really help that much. This morning I decided to try this goats milk lotion called “Nubian Heritage: Goat’s Milk & Chai” that I had forgotten about under my bathroom sink even though I was skeptical because it has a little bit of fragrance. But OMG. My hands don’t burn anymore! It soothes the heat and itching. My hands feel soft and more “normal”. I’m also noticing healing since I started using it this morning. My hands areless red and inflamed too. I purchased it at Whole Foods a few months ago because I had gotten a Korean scrub and they used goats milk to bathe you and my skin was so soft after. Maybe my skin just likes goats milk but I’m shocked to see that it made my eczema a lot better! Here’s a before and after. The first picture was when I got it all over my hands. Yesterday it was more red and inflamed than the first photo. Today is the last picture. The blisters have really subsided and my hands are soft, moisturized and feel a lot better! Thought I’d share 😃🫶🏽

I’m one of ya’ll now!

Looking back I noticed small bumps on the sides of some fingers which were barely visible. Nothing that made me notice or acknowledge. Fast forward to the past 7-ish days I have these on both hands out of nowhere. What have you guys done to heal? I thought maybe it was from touching detergent but if I had a few before how come all of a sudden I have it all over both hands? Currently lathering Aquaphor and La Roche Posay Cicaplast. I don’t have eczema anywhere else. Only medication I take is baby aspirin and I recently changed to a different prenatal vitamin. Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏🏽

Approved for iron infusion 🎉

I first started noticing my hair shedding for about 1.5 months. Since then I started taking iron supplements and just met with a hematologist which prescribed me an iron infusion due to my iron and ferritin being super low.

For those of you who have had an infusion:

Once I get my infusion (1g of iron) how long does it take for your hair to shop shedding and get “back to normal” ?

Hair shedding 3 months post surgery

Hello!

35F here with what I assume is TE. I had 2 brain surgeries both minimally invasive. One in January 2026 to coil an unruptured aneurysm and another in March 2026 to remove a pituitary tumor. Never had my head cut open, one was through my groin artery and the other was through my nose. Now 3 months post my last surgery I am seeing way more hair shedding than normal along with a burning/stinging/tender feeling on different parts of my scalp. I was told this is most likely due to the stress and trauma from the surgery. But it doesn’t make me feel better about it. Has anyone tried any supplements or ways to minimize or help the TE? I already have thin hair from genetics… I’m hoping it doesn’t keep getting worse.

3 months post op results

Just got my 3 month blood test results, I’m so happy to announce that my hormone levels are now within normal range 🎉

What a journey it has been! I did get a slight complication with getting a perforated septum after surgery which I plan on having an ENT fix it later on. For now, I’d rather have a small hole in my nose than a tumor and acromegaly 😅 waiting to see my endocrinologist later this week for our follow up. Thank you all for the support! Special thanks to my neurosurgeon, Dr. JFM at Stanford Medical Center ❤️🧑🏻‍⚕️🩺

4 surgeries in 1 year, I haven’t had a regular bowel since

35F here with what I think is constipation? Backstory: I used to be regular, once per day before all my surgeries. Back in May/June 2025 I had my first IVF/egg retrieval surgery and had a second retrieval in October 2025. In January 2026 I had an unruptured brain aneurysm coiled and in March 2026 I had a pituitary tumor removed that was causing me to have acromegaly. As you could imagine I was not able to workout since about a year ago. Especially after the brain surgeries. Since the IVF treatments I noticed my digestion was super slow and I wasn’t able to go #2 everyday like before. Even now I’ll go about every 3 days or so. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like a proper #2. The doctors had given me senna pills after each surgery because of the anesthesia causes constipation. The egg retrieval surgeries weren’t painful afterwards so I didn’t need any strong pain medication. But after the brain surgeries I was on hydrocodone, blood thinners as well as longer and stronger anesthesia each time as the surgeries were each hours long vs 20 mins for each egg retrieval. I am now 3 months post op from my last brain surgery and can finally start working out. I really hope the slow metabolism/constipation is due to not being able to move or lift anything more than 10 pounds since January. But then again I haven’t been regular since about May/June of last year. My only symptoms are feeling bloated sometimes, and maybe a little gassy on rare occasions. I don’t really feel an urge to want to poop unless I take some sort of supplement to help me go. I don’t have any pain or reflux, it just feels like my metabolism is super slow. Because of my acromegaly diagnosis I am getting a thyroid ultrasound this week and a colonoscopy next month.. All my hormones except my growth hormone and IGF-1 were elevated prior to surgery. My thyroid was always fine. My hormones are now in the normal range since my tumor was removed. The only thing that makes me go same day or next day are senna pills or colon cleanse/laxatives but I don’t want to be dependent on them. I started increasing my fiber with chia seeds, kiwis, etc…I just want to go back to feeling normal again. I’m hoping working out again helps me get there.
