Ninja movies were huge in the 80's

Ninja movies in the 80's were great cheesy fun. Also, the kung fu shops on and around Canal St in NYC in the 80's were amazing. They had ALL the ninja weapons lol great times!

Honorable mention along with American Ninja 1 & 2, is Ninja III The Domination, Enter the Ninja, The Octagon, and Pray for Death. There's loads more, but those were my faves. Kung fu flicks and tv shows (like Sidekicks) were also a lot of fun.

Anyone else remember the ninja craze of the 80's?

Eclipse HP-BCS troubleshooting hell

I'm not new to airbrushing, and I've had no problem troubleshooting hiccups in the past, but I'm stumped with this one.
My airbrush is thoroughly cleaned after use, and I always test with water before starting with paint to ensure functionality.

My hp-bcs (about a month of use on it) has lost responsiveness; the thin lines I'd get within the first couple mm's of pull, now require pulling the trigger back almost halfway, and send with a burst of paint.

The other issue is I see some bubbles in the siphon bottle with the first slight pull of the trigger, but then the gun starts to siphon correctly.
I'll get random bursts of paint, some skipping, and it's impossible to pull consistent line weights and do drop shadows now.

All the seals are good, front end is tight, needle and nozzle cap are clean, needle packing screw is tightened correctly, vent holes in bottles are clear, and I'm working at my usual 40-50psi. My paint is thinned more than usual to see if that was the issue. I've tried cheap Amazon bottles and Iwata big mouth, same result.

I tried a new needle, removing my moisture trap and quick connect from the equation, and tested with several other airbrushes to make sure it wasn't related to the compressor or hose.
All front end parts have been soaked in IPA and cleaned well. I paint with acrylics only, this gun has never seen laquer or any clear coat.

I'm at a loss here. This is the first issue I've had in years that I'm unable to solve.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Edit: soapy water provided no signs pointing to leaks in the head assembly.

Edit 2.0 - SOLVED - cracked nozzle.

Some warm-ups, taken too far, but still fun to do. Trying to keep in my mind that less is more.

Gaahleri Mobius SP trigger click

I searched the sub for a remedy, but came up empty, so figured I'd make a post.

Does anyone who owns a Gaahleri airbrush dislike the click of the trigger? I'm used to the smooth feel and response of Mr Hobby airbrush triggers, so while I've been trying to tolerate the mobius trigger, it's getting to be an annoyance. It disrupts my flow when doing lettering.
I put a little lube on the trigger stem, but it didn't do much.
I might pick up a ps-266 as a solution, if I can't find a fix for it.

My question is: has anyone changed out the trigger / plunger / etc for something else, to get a better feeling trigger on their Gaahleri airbrush?
I really want to like this airbrush, but the trigger is kind of ass.

Thanks in advance.

Whiteboard / Dry Erase Board for Practice?

I've seen some videos on YouTube with people using a dry erase board for practice / demos.

I searched the sub, but didn't find much.

Does anyone here do the same?
Pros and cons?

Thanks in advance

Those cheapo wire / nylon cleaning brushes...don't use them.

Mentioning this to hopefully save someone the aggravation of making a problem worse.

I had some of those cheap wire / nylon bristle cleaning brushes left over from a cheapo airbrush I bought years ago.
My ps270, which I've had for about 3 years now, was giving me issues for the first time ever (paint backing up into the trigger well) and I've been trying to remedy the issue over the last week or so.
Process of elimination led me to the needle packing screw, because a couple weeks ago, I used one of those wire brushes to clean out paint residue without having to remove the screw. Big mistake. The end of the brush is twisted aluminum, and it must have nicked the bushing on the screw.
Replaced it with a new screw today and it functions like new again.

Moral of the story: throw those brushes away. They do more harm than good.
Same goes for those reamer tools (unless used VERY carefully, under a damn magnifying glass hah). They can damage the nozzle really easily. Jamming sharp metal inside a delicate, precision part is a mad move.
Don't be like me. Be smart.

Also, the ps270 is a solid airbrush. Anyone who's looking for a $100-$150 airbrush, go with Mr Hobby.
The quality and performance are unbeatable in that price point, in my opinion.
