Silly wood question

If water rots wood. How do old cut trees stay underwater for 200 years and be worth a fortune when reclaimed. How did they survive without rotting ?🤔

LVP PROBLEM

We put the grayish in a buddies bath on concrete slab. The brown in kitchen and living room, has sub floor. Both been down about five years. The brown looks like a seem breaking, it has up and down movement. The gray is separating ? Are there ways to address this with out a lot $$$
