Do you want to try something new and test the Spotify Mix system to its absolute current limits?
Well, maybe this is something for you. Create a single track (re)mix out of 9 separate tracks.
The 9 tracks consist of 5 versions of Dua Lipa’s 2024 hit Training Season + 4 beat loops available on Spotify. Total play time 29 minutes.
The idea is to create a (much shorter) unique single track remix of Training Season, by meshing and mixing up these tracks.
Do whatever you want, any combination any sequence. Even find other versions or loops, maybe if some of the provided ones are not available where you live.
There‘s only one rule, sort of: Keep the combined single track under 12 minutes. It can be done, I think 7 minutes is possible. But if you want to make it 20 minutes, go for it.
And maybe one more rule? Use at least 6 tracks for your remix?
Here is the playlist with the 9 basic track in random order. Just copy the playlist, turn on ‘mix’ and take it from there.
Because of the mixing limitations this will never be a fantastic remix, but maybe it could be….
This is not a competition, just for fun and healthy time waste management. 🧘🏻
Trying something new….
With all the latest options added, r/Previous-Serve9810 recently mentioned the mix feature is getting closer and closer to a full remix tool. Well, let’s see 🙃
I already had something in the pipeline, and thought I’d give it a go to see how far I could come with creating something similar to a remix. In this case, one single track reconstructed by using different versions available on Spotify.
This (re)mix consists of 8 different versions of Donna Summers ‘I Feel Love’ with a combined playtime of 48 minutes, condensed into one single 13 minute track.
This was the minimum length I was able to get to without completely destroying the song.
For fun, I also went pretty wild with the available effects, and even dropped the bpm from one of the versions from 125 to 115 bpm to create an effect reminiscent of Lil Louis’ French Kiss.
Some edits last for only 10, 20 seconds before a new transition kicks in, but the final live version has been left intact and complete, because Donna Summer is still the queen. 💃🏾
Anyway, I’m curious to hear what anyone thinks of using the mix functionality in this way. Any and all feedback appreciated.

Somehow I have the feeling Spotify’s custom mix functionality is particularly used by, let’s say, a somewhat more mature crowd. So, just out of curiosity, what’s your age? If you don’t want to say, perfectly fine of course, but then maybe A if you’re under 35, B if you’re over?
I‘m 61, and pretty sure I’m the senior here 🤸
This is a redesign of a playlist I made last February.
Besides rearranging, adding, and deleting tracks from the original playlist I also played around with all the new effects now available.
Since the playlist mainly consists of mid-tempo, bass loaded, organic tracks for a steady, continuous flow, I tried to keep the transitions as fluid as possible too. This also includes adjusting the bpm of some tracks.
Gradually building up to a bit of intensity and pacing in the middle, it slows down again to hopefully a soothing finish.
I‘m pretty pleased with the result, and of course hope you people like it too.
If not, that‘s cool, but please then let me know how I could improve. 🧘🏻
And did I mention I love the new Reverb End Out option? 😘
I just (finally) got access to the new mix features, looping and effects. Obviously still figuring things out, but already huge fan of customizing ‘Reverb out end’.
I‘m not always happy with the hard cut off of the outgoing track, but didn’t want to end it on a fade out, because final vocal, upbeat, downbeat or whatever. The reverb end out gives a much more fluid transition at cut off, with just a tasty bit of overspill into the next track 🧘🏻 Particularly when customizing the reverb only to start near the end of the transition - it creates sort of a ‘whoosh’ effect, very nice 🤘🏻
Am I right in seeing that the new effects only work on the outgoing track? Would not mind having them on the incoming track as well.

Hi all,
Time for a change of pace in this hot summer. 😅
Here‘s a collection of 25 classic 90s Hip-Hop Soul tracks, with New Jack Swing infused laidback grooves, beautiful minor chord progressions, and powerful, melodic, predominantly female vocals and harmonies.
Since all the tracks revolve around the same 95 bpm tempo, I decided to focus on organizing and matching Catherine Wheel harmonics. Something I normally don’t put that much emphasis on, but in this mix really feels like an added element.
All transitions are 8 bars, which is also the maximum allowed around this bpm, and I think in this case it works just fine.
I kept the use of effects - I don’t have the latest ones yet - pretty limited, and customized mostly just for balancing dynamics between tracks.
Below is the tracklist. I bookended the playlist with two versions of Brownstone’s ‘If You Love Me’. The initial remix version gets the groove going, and the original version at the end really puts the spotlight on imo one of the finest vocal and harmony performances ever in R&B.
As always, any feedback always appreciated 🧘🏻

Hi all,
I‘m creating a playlist with about 25, 30 classic New Jack Swing tracks, with an emphasis on the slower, melodic side and strong, well arranged, preferably female vocals and harmonies.
This is my playlist so far. Would you consider this representative and fitting for the era? I realize there’s a few outliers, but I hope and think they fit the groove nicely. I’ve bookended the playlist with two versions of Brownstone’s If You Love Me, imo one of the most powerful vocal harmony performances ever.
Look forward to any feedback and suggestions. 🧘🏻

Hi all, the mix feature is getting to be more fun all the time 🤸.
Here is a set of all new 2026 Acid House tracks. It’s based on the vintage sound of the late 1980s, when the initially flopped Roland TB 303 Bass emulator made a surprising comeback when people found out it could produce really cool, futuristic, filter driven bass sequences. The hype didn’t last too long but for a couple of months ACIIIIEEED was everywhere. Good memories!
For this mix I did some experimenting with the custom filter settings, like fake fades, recurring low in/out, bass dynamics, and even tried to use all the available effects for equalization, like lowering the volume across the entire transition, maintaining a low end filter to avoid high end hi-hats becoming dominant, etc.
Everything else is ‘typical me’ I guess, 16-bar phrase matching on ‘the one’, at what I feel are appropriate transition points
The set starts relatively mellow, and gradually builds up to a pretty frantic peak about 3/4 in, after which it subsides again, to finish with a track which has absolutely nothing to do with Acid, but makes for a very lovely coda.
With about an hour‘s length, the set is relatively short, but the 303 sound is probably best digested in smaller doses 🫠
My favorite track in the set is Nomadics’ Better Man, with a relentless minimalistic groove and 303 pattern, embellished by a strong vocal. One of the few tracks I let almost completely play out in the set. Even if you’re not into Acid, that track is well worth checking out.
BTW, I got the initial idea for this set from r/previous-serve9810 ‘s fantastic recent Italo House playlist, which also has a cool classic Acid section. His brilliant opening of the set also inspired me, but I did it at the closing 🧘🏻
Thanks all, enjoy! Feedback always welcome.

A little while back I asked the fine people of r/disco to provide me with classic disco tracks with a great, unique, prominent bass riff/hook/groove. I got a lot of great suggestions, thank you!
I made a Spotify playlist with over 30 of these suggestions. There’s a few usual suspects, but also a number of more obscure tracks. There’s deep bass, slap bass, early synth bass, bass drops, melodic bass. So, if you like disco bass, you might find some cool tracks in here. And if you have Spotify Premium, the playlist is mixed 🕺🏻.

A few days ago all of a sudden all mixed playlists by others in my library were not mixed anymore and had reverted back to standard playlists.
I had no way to fix this, until just about now. in the three dot menu of a playlist there’s a new button: ‘turn mix on’. Click it, and presto, mix restored.
However, for me the default setting now is ‘standard’ for any playlist, mixed or not. So, when I see a new mixed playlist here and I activate it in Spotify, it is not mixed. I have to go in the playlist menu and ‘turn mix on’.
Anyone else have this? Is this going to be Spotify policy, or still just a bug?
I‘m on iPhone 17, iOS 26.
EDIT: Well, here‘s a kicker, I can now turn *any* playlist into a mixed playlist. No matter, they all have the ‘turn mix on’ in the three dot menu.
Since yesterday other people’s mixed playlists I have saved are no longer mixed. I have about 30 of those playlists.
Initially my own mixed playlists had also reverted back to standard playback, but I was able to fix that by reactivating the ‘mix’ button. Can’t do that however with other people’s mixed playlists.
If anyone knows what’s happening or what to do, please let me know. iPhone 17, iOS 26.
