We're Astras. Of course, papasok muna tayo bago ma-suspend. ☺️🙏
Siyempre expect niyo na ganyan din bukas, kahit ang forecast ay mas lalakas yan bukas.

Sobrang helpful kasi sakin ng medschool bootcamp nung nagtry ako ng trial. San po malalaman yung exclusive code if meronn?
Hindi nagttranslate sa real pracs yung fnflashcards ko thru Anki (I used the Dope bluelink). Like I was so confident everytime na kabisado ko na lahat ng cards ko tas pagdating ng real pracs nahihirapan ako marecognize yung landmarks kasi ibang iba siya sa pictures lang + nappanic ako dahil moving siya so dagdag pa yung mental block. I need to make bawi on my next pracs in Gross kasi nag single digit score ako last pracs 😭😭😭😭😭
I failed to submit my biochem manuals on time because I overspent my time trying to do a meticulous work. Then, I found out late submissions are subject to -10 points deduction. So parang thrown out of the window lang din yung effort to answer the manuals meticulously? Binabasa ba talaga nila lahat yun? huhu
I only started my manuals after major shifting exams were over. How do I approach this in the future? I know I shouldnt even be considering both pero ang hirap talaga magmanage ng time with the weekly shiftings and pracs and group work activities, etc. I am so bad in time management hELP?? I passed all my exams pero at the cost of my manuals submission 😭
Med seniors how do you all juggle everything po ba? 🥹
I just want to share my thoughts as my first month in medical school ends.
I entered medicine plainly because I really do want to learn how life function up to its molecular level. Not the cliché, "I want to help the sick people". I just genuinely love life science.
I did expect naman kasi ang dami na nagsasabi na super fast paced daw sa medicine. Pero at this point, I'm not even sure if I am actually learning anything. Ang daming need ipasang output, plan graded activities, every week may exam of some sort consisting of topics na isang sem sa undergrad lol (kudos to non-trads for surviving😭). I am passing my exams naman but mainly because I was able to make workarounds on how to pass those exams without studying EVERYTHING. I honestly feel conflicted. It's good na I am passing my exams, but at the same time, disappointed na I lack time to actually learn and absorb the details. Like it really feels like I'm just studying to pass the exams, not to learn. And I do want to learn pero I don't have enough time to try and read the details on the topics. 🥲
I still hope na I become a doctor who actually knows and understands what I'm doing 😭😭.
I plan to do it very early in the morning around 4 or 5 am.
I found one from AY. 2017-2018 kaso baka outdated na? So, I'm looking for something similar to this from incoming YL2 seniors. Or no changes naman? It would really be a great help if someone could share one. 🥹🙏
May dress code po ba? Also, malamig po ba sa orientation venue?
Ever thought of people who somehow cheated death? What if they actually didn't? What if they actually died, and what they are experiencing being alive is a branch of the universe of them getting out of it alive? What if I am the branch experiencing quantum immortality?
Naisip ko lang as I read upon quantum immortality theory. Sobrang daming instances ko na kasi where I cheated death. And thinking about it after learning about quantum immortality, like there's no way I am this *lucky* for me to still be even alive. What if I actually died in those, and what I am currently experiencing is a version of me who lived?
I am currently a first year medical student. I entered medicine with molecular pathology in mind. Before I finally decided, I worked in a tertiary clinical lab of a tertiary hospital to gain insights on the realities of medicine. I was able to work alongside attending pathologists and resident pathologists.
Back in pre-med, I used to dream of becoming a *surgeon*. However, after working in the hospital, I realized that their lifestyle is not for me (especially their residency 😫). And that I may have dreamt in the wrong direction. I have developed an inclination with pathology instead, and at the same time, enjoyed working in a molecular lab (despite the obnoxiously low wage it pays). I was offered a job as a medical VA that pays A WHOLE LOT better, but I find it hard to let go of a career that I am actually passionate about. I am well aware that pathology residents doesnt earn that much din, not sure about the attendings tho. Our attending looks well-off naman and was able to support son's medical school education in US. But this is considering that this attending pathologist is quite famous and works with several famous hospitals here in metro, and also teaches in one of the top medical schools.
Honestly, I just really want to stay working in the lab whilst being financially stable. I'm not seeking to be rich rich, just want enough for me to be able to live comfortably that can support travel overseas atleast 3-5x a year. I don't want to leave my parents either for abroad as of the moment. I don't have plans in building my own family sooner or later, it's not something I see myself having soon.
What I want to pursue is a career where I am able to work both in clincal diagnostics and research. I also have big aspirations in improving laboratory diagnostics in psychiatry. Hence, the dream in molecular pathology.
What I know now (please correct me if I am wrong) is that, there is no molecular pathology fellowship training here in the Philippines. So, one of my question is, do I need to do the residency training abroad in order to qualify for their fellowship training? Or can I do the residency training here in PH and still qualify to apply for a fellowship abroad? I know sobrang farsighted nitong mga tanong ko, but I'm a person who plans far ahead of time so I can get better perspectives on the pathway I am taking.
Please feel free to share your piece of advice, reality checks, and what to expect in this path I am about to take.

No purging experienced. Just appearance of an acne here and there which I probably associate with my monthly cycle or times when I forgot to wash my face before bed lol.
I'm not sure if the reduction of fine line prominence is associated with tret-use, or that it's because I'm moisturizing/hydrating better than ever (due to fear of possible tret purging lol). I noticed that after washing my face and letting it dry before moisturizing, the fine line appears like it's day zero of tret-use. Hence, my doubts in tret.
If not orientation day, may announcement na po ba kung kailan orientation day? or mga around what time po kaya i-aannounce?
Filipinos are heavily influenced by religion which strictly preach sex as binary. So I want to know the perspectives of Filipino scientists, especially of those with related background (medical, biology, molecular, genetics, etc.) to the topic of human sex being binary vs. bimodal.
My background is medical laboratory science, currently in medical school. I had pondered upon this topic ever since I've read a case discussion about intersex back in undergrad. I havent seen that much public discussions regarding this topic within a filipino community. I always see public debates/arguments/opinions/discussions about "gender variations", but rarely the "sex variations" when they clearly exist based from what we know today.
I was quite hesitant on watching this at first because the posters looked childish. My first thought when I first saw the posters were, "This looks like a low-effort drama with chaotic storyline". Add the fact that I kinda doubted it would be any good considering that Cha Eunwoo was part of the main cast of a comedic drama.
Don't get me wrong. I am most definitely NOT a Cha Eunwoo hater as I have followed him since his Astro debut days. I still love watching the dramas that he is in, mainly because of how engaging his looks is despite his stoic roles. I was able to still enjoy those dramas because his visuals are very much befitted of romance genres. He could easily swoon viewers with simple romantic gestures even if the character has a bland personality. However, comedy dramas are different. Comedy dramas that actually did well on being comedic had characters that require grand gestures. So, that's how I came upon doubting the drama as a whole.
Yesterday, I was beat up from studying the whole day till night that I just wanted to spend a little bit of time watching something lighthearted before I sleep. Hence, despite my doubts on this drama, I watched its first episode with no big expectations.
But god I was wrong.
I judged it too quickly based from its cover.
I ended up binging it overnight! I literally slept at 4am because of it lmfao!
I had to hold my laugh hard because everyone was already sleeping!
The main casts did well on carrying their roles, especially the one who played Robin. Eunbin was just as good as I expected. However, Eunwoo's character still felt bland. Although, not bad enough to ruin the whole show. I would say he did just fine. He did improved slightly on some aspects like facial expressions. But the way he delivers his script lacked emotional depth. He sounds cold as ice, even from scenes with supposed dramatic or emotional script. I hope he improves that as well in the future.
The drama was INDEED CHAOTIC but in a good comedic way. It's a blend of famous superheroes in one comedic drama. Lee Unjeong seems like a character inspired from Stranger Things' Eleven. His superpower hand gestures, his nosebleeds, maybe even the stoicism of Eleven as a child. Perhaps, the whole drama itself was referenced from Stranger Things?? I mean, lab-experimented kids with various superpowers, and even calling the head scientist as "Father (Papa)"??
There was just one thing that bothered me from this drama tho. When Unjeong betrayed Chaeny. I thought that scene was a bit ridiculous. I thought they would eventually redeem it by revealing that he pre-planned it to get his personal data without giving them leverage. But turns out, he literally just left her there. Maybe gave few caffeine as a small chance to escape, but that is all-knowing the fact that she cannot actually control her powers willingly. So, still useless. If it wasn't for her grandma convincing him, she wouldve died then and there. Realistically, he shouldve atleast felt guilty for throwing her over to the bad people (where she almost died irreversibly) instead of brushing that action off as if it never happened, and continued to act like he had always been a good friend to her after those event.
Overall 8/10.
Di ko alam kung anong subreddit ko pwede itanong toh eh. Baka may mga nagoorder din dito directly from US brands.
May note naman nung nagorder ako from US brand online shop na may possible import fees separate from the fees I paid to them pag dumating dito sa PH yung parcel. Gnoogle ko lang kasi yung binigay nilang tracking number or code kasi walang attached link kung saan bang shipping service yun issearch.
Sa google, lumitaw agad yung "Track via UPS" then lumitaw sa UPS site yung tracking info ng number. Kaya lang may lumitaw na I need to pay for import fees daw. Iniisip ko kung pwede ba toh bayaran nalang pag dumating na (kasi skeptic ako baka bogus site pala toh or what hahahaha) or hindi nila iddeliver until hindi ko siya binbayaran dito sa site??
I tried to search and even asked AI about it pero either it's too bulky or just hidden compartments in wallet/phone size. Yung tipong pag hnoldup sana ako, ang makikita lang is usual low-value student items hahahaha.
I tried searching in this sub pero no results about discussions on this.
I am an incoming YL1. I've heard about AnKing from various subreddits like international medschool subs and PH medschool subs. However, wala pa ko nababasa specifically kung may mga gumagamit nito dito sa NR.
I'm trying to organize my anki na before the school year starts.
Any med seniors here who use AnKing? I just want to ask which tags do you find helpful (esp for YL1)?
Or if not AnKing, perhaps recommend other pre-made decks that you find helpful.
