maybe this is a dumb question but if you delete messages on rednote, does it delete for both people or just you?
I know other apps like facebook give you a short time limit before you can “delete for everyone“ or just for you, but rednote doesn’t specify, it just says “delete.”
I couldn’t find the answer anywhere else so I’m asking here.
I just made a google workspace account with my personal email address by accident.
I went through the normal sign up and clicked through to the free trial which upgraded my account to business starter or something. I haven’t entered a domain yet, I pressed to set it up later, but right now my 14 day free trial is active with my Google account because I entered payment details.
because I signed up to google workspace by accident (I don’t even have a business/site yet) I was just trying to see what it was and assumed a free trial was harmless. Only now I'm finding out to be able to delete the workspace account you need to have a domain.
So initially my plan was, I was going to go straight to square space, log in and make a site/domain with a free trial to put it on google workspace just to be able to access the settings to delete my account. I was then planning to cancel the google workspace subscription and delete the account through the settings as it doesn’t look like you can without a domain. Once that was over I planned to cancel my subscription with square space for a full refund I haven’t entered payment details for Squarespace yet, i just signed up to the site with my personal email again and clicked a template.
I heard that when you delete your workspace account you delete your entire google account which I don’t want to do, that’s my personal account with everything on there. what do I do to remove my account from workspace entirely for privacy concerns without deleting my whole Gmail account. I use that account to sign into everything. I’m panicking.
UPDATE: I cancelled the subscription. idk if that means I'll lose my gmail access but i just did a google takeout and imported some data from my gmail to a new one.

Recently I had intrusive pop ups claiming to be from mcafee and also norton. I actually had mcafee installed on my computer anyways which made me wary it could’ve been real but it’s expired and I’d never encountered any mcafee pop-ups before. I never had Norton installed and still don’t.
I did a quick google search and was able to stop all the intrusive pop ups, by blocking notifications on sites I didn’t recognise.
However before I got rid of them, I did press “run program“ buttons on the fake mcafee pop up. After the fake scan, it told me I had 10 viruses which obviously now I don’t believe. It prompted me to solve the issue and suggested I could only do so via payment, I clicked what led me to a payment page asking for my details. I didn’t give any. I also didn‘t make a transaction.
I signed out of my accounts whilst the pop ups were ongoing. After they stopped I reset my google account passwords as a preventative measure. However I’m a worried that the “run program“ button I pressed in the process of all this may have done something or could potentially. My laptop is functioning normally. I just need peace of mind and some clarity.
What are my next steps for safety? can I assume nothing bad has happened if my laptop is functioning the way it does normally now?
Hi everyone, I'm currently really panicked and worried about the potential loss of items on my icloud account such as photos etc.
I have an Iphone 12. It was running on IOS17. It has never been backed up.
context: I unistalled my notes app which had a lot of important/sensitive data on there. I thought it was synced to my icloud (it wasn't.) I did this because I was trying to free up some storage for an app. I checked icloud site via face id and this confirmed things as I only saw my photos.
After realising all my notes were gone I panicked and called apple support, who said not much can be done on their end and that my best option was just to update my phone.
I did not immediately do this, instead I clicked the "update tonight" option. I think I then pressed some backups after (before it didnt let me because of low storage). This is where I fucked up royally. I asked chatgpt about possible recovery options for notes. I tried a computer app called phonerescue first, it didn't find any notes. (I used airplane mode on my phone and plugged it into my computer.) It didnt do anything to my phone though after thankfully.
Instead of giving up I tried another option chatgpt gave me called dr fone. I plugged my phone into the computer and this app put my phone into recovery mode and I couldn't exit it without it pay walling me.
I literally tried paying for it but because my cards are all connected to my phone the purchase wouldn't go through asit requires me to logon to mobile banking to verify myself. I didnt know what to do by that point as forcing it off and on wouldn't make it exit recovery mode, so I plugged into my computer and into itunes to restart it.
After it restarted it got locked in activation mode because im an idiot who cant remember my appleid password. So with all this being said, are the items on my icloud likely to be there? photos etc? when i logged on prior to my dilemma i saw my photos but im unsure if anything I did could actually mess this up.
right now ive submitted a request to rest my appleid password so i can sign back in to my phone.
Also sorry this is long but a thing to note is that the dr fone app on my computer would not uninstall when i tried to uninstall it. it kept saying it was running even when i tried closinig it.
