Back up plan?

Based on my local community colleges program schedule and the pre reqs I need, I’m looking at best case scenario getting into rad tech program fall of 2028 (if I’m incredibly lucky), worst case scenario fall of 2030-2031 (if I’m unlucky).

Im going to try my best to expedite the timeline, apply to other local programs, etc. However, I need to figure out a back up plan. I’m in my mid 30s and I just can’t see it being feasible to wait 4-5 years just to get into the program.

Looking for any suggestions for an alternate path. Any insight is appreciated.

So tired of leakage

I’ve been using menstrual cups for at least 3 years now. It seems like no matter what, the first 2 days of my period there is leakage more often than not. I know the position of cervix can change but it’s super frustrating not knowing what is causing the leakage and not knowing if or when it’s going to happen. I’ve tried a couple different brands. Sometimes I get a solid placement and no issue, but most times I’m leaking soon after and no matter how many times I adjust, ensure the cup is fully opened and not bent, it still happens.

Does anyone else deal with this? Is there a specific brand anyone suggests? How often are you replacing them? I’ve tried diva cup and June cup.

Favorite conditioning moves?

I recreate conditioning classes at my local gym and I feel like I forget some of the moves we do! What are your favorites? Can be any type of conditioning.

Some of my faves are snatches, med ball slams, and jump squats.

Those who started later in life- how did you survive financially while in the program?

I’ve done endless amounts of research about going back to school in my 30s to pursue radiology. The one thing that keeps holding me back is- how the hell I am going to get through the program while working/not working.

I know I can work while I’m doing my pre reqs, but how did yall navigate finances while doing the radiography program? Did you manage to work part time while not letting grades suffer? Rely on a spouse or family support?

I don’t have any family money and I’m single, and only have so much in savings. I know anything’s possible but, realistically, how did you do it?

Edit: just wanted to say I appreciate everyone’s input and while I don’t have time to respond to everyone individually, you all are so inspiring and dedicated!! Super excited to hopefully start this journey soon.

Yeast infx- how much discharge is “normal”?

Hi all,

I have what I think is a yeast infection based on my symptoms and phone call to OBGYN, she said it almost certainly is one (without actually seeing me). I had already administered monistat yesterday, called OBGYN today. Now she did say the discharge may increase due to working its way out after using the monistat, but I’m unsure just how much discharge is to be expected.

What I’m seeing right now is actually horrifying me. It’s significantly more than the last couple days, but the itching has subsided substantially. I’ve never had a yeast infection before. After several hours, when I inspect myself down there, it looks like I’m storing about a tablespoon of cottage cheese in there!!

Any insight is appreciated. I do plan to call my doctor back tomorrow but they are closed right now.

Yeast infection vs sti ?

I’m so fucking stressed out and embarrassed about all this that I’m just going to layout the timeline and facts and concerns without too much explanation.

~4 weeks ago met a new partner and we started having protected sex. We eventually did do it without a condom 2-3 times.

Last weekend I was on vacation and stupidly, drunkenly hooked up with a guy and I honestly can’t remember if he wore a condom so I’m just going to assume he didn’t.

Panic immediately ensues. I got tested ~5 days after the encounter with the 2nd guy. I now realize I probably tested too soon, so despite negative STI results I’m worried about a false negative.

The only thing that came back positive was ureaplasma. At the time of the results I was not having symptoms. She gave me the option to treat with abx or not.

Since then I have developed some itchiness down there accompanied by clumps of very thick white discharge. No smell, no pain or painful urination, no visible concerns besides some slight redness. Discharge is white with no color.

I do plan to retest again in a couple of weeks but I’m wondering with my symptoms if it’s likely I could have a yeast infection? I’ve never had one before. I’m really worried about an STI but I know there’s nothing I can do now but learn from my mistakes.

Is it bad to wear the aligners for more than 20-22 hrs?

I just started Invisalign this week so I’m still figuring out a routine, but so far I’m only taking them out for about 1hr a day. Are there any issues with wearing them longer than 22hrs/day?

Confused about process of crown after root canal

Had a root canal today at endodontist. I already knew I’d have to follow up with my dentist to have the permanent crown put on. I left the endo, called my dentist and told them I wanted to make that appt. The receptionist said “how about tomorrow?” I said sure but isn’t that too soon? I thought I had to wait 2-3 weeks? He said hold on let me check with the dr. He gets back on and said the dr said it was fine to come in the next day. I said ok and booked the appt. At the end of the conversation I said “just to clarify- is this the permanent crown?” To which he said no it’s a temporary crown. I said ok and hung up.

Confused, looked at my paperwork from the endo, and it says I had a temporary crown put on today and that I’d need to follow up with my dentist for a permanent crown.

So I call the endo office and ask the receptionist if I had a temporary crown put on today. She says yes. I explain my confusion and conversation with my dentists office. She said “well they probably just will do another temp crown and mold you for the permanent one”

I just said ok and hung up but I’m still confused. I understand taking a mold for the permanent crown, but my dentist who recommended the root canal told me it would be one visit after the root canal for permanent crown, the endodontist said the same thing, so why am I going back for another temp crown tomorrow?

Recs for bars for early 30s female solo

Hi all!

What are some bars you’d recommend for a newly single early 30s woman? More of a day time/evening hangout rather than late nights. I don’t want to be surrounded by 20 some year olds. Love live music, outdoor seating, friendly atmosphere, good food. I’ve only been to key west once before. I remember I really liked sitting at the little outdoor bar at Ricks on the corner and their orange crushes. Nothing fancy. Didn’t care much for captain tonys (a bit too dark and dusty for my liking, don’t come for me!!) I’ll be there July 4th weekend. Staying on Duval up near 801 bourbon bar.

Bailey vs Ben- why did nobody stick up for Bailey regarding Ben/Amanda

Taking a quick detour from the Amanda and West of it all. This solidified my love and respect for Bailey. I was yelling at the screen, though, when Ben continued to deny flirting or crossing lines with Amanda. “I treated her like one of the boys”. And doubling down to make it seem like Bailey was so wrong for making that comment at the table. Why did NOBODY bring up the fact that Amanda had a confessional stating how Ben wanted to fuck her in Italy that there was a whole group chat about it?! Or maybe they edited it out but that really annoyed me.

A new perspective post wisdom teeth extractions

I start my Invisalign next month, and although I’m excited to finally address my biggest insecurity- I’ve been really anxious about the process. Worrying about my social life, my routine, how I’m going to ensure I can eat enough/properly, etc. Then I had my wisdom teeth removed 5 days ago and all I can think is how much I’d give to be able to eat whatever I want. Even if I had to do it in a short amount of time and brush/floss right after. Because, man, this liquid/soft food diet, salt water rinsing multiple times a day, rx mouthwash, meds every 3-6 hours, not being able to properly brush my teeth, is really not it!!!

Not to say the Invisalign process is easy or without discomfort- but it could be worse! Can’t wait to heal and start the next chapter. I’ll have to come back and read this in a few months when I’m inevitably bitching about my Invisalign.

Social life with Invisalign?

How do you handle social life with Invisalign? I’m starting my treatment next month and I’m wondering how I’ll navigate this. I’m newly divorced in my early 30s. I love grabbing dinner and drinks with friends, and I am considering starting to date again soon.

Are my wine/cocktails and appetizer days gone for the foreseeable future?! Do you take your aligners out during the date and put them back in after? Brush your teeth at the restaurant? No snacks or drinks at the movies? What’s everyone doing?

I ran the Broad Street Run in Philly, it’s a 10 mile race. I had only completed a full 10 miles once during my training a few weeks ago. People always say adrenaline on race day gives you a boost, and I severely underestimated that. I also improved my breathing and my cadence (not showing up in Apple from my Garmin for some reason) which made a big difference I think. It was just a good run day for me and I feel so lucky. Weather- great. Vibes- immaculate. The spectators- unmatched. I love my city. I beat my goal time and PR’d and I’m so proud. If you told me 5 months ago I did this I wouldn’t have believed you.

Wasn’t sure how to eat it so I just tried a little bit of everything! Fishwife smoked trout chimi (controversial I know) but it was sooo tasty. Started with the “safer” option but excited to try the mackerel and eventually want to try some sardines. The skin and bones just kinda freak me out! But I really want to like them lol

Hi all!

I made an extremely impulsive purchase after doing minimal research. Honestly, I was so overwhelmed with all the different options, specs, pricing, etc.

I ended up coming across a refurbished “Amazon Renewed” forerunner 265s for $248 (was $269 but I had a $37 credit to use).

I’m a moderately active person who runs and does HIIT, strength training, and in the winter I snowboard. I mainly want to track health/fitness. I could never wear my watch to sleep bc my current one has to be charged overnight, so also excited to try tracking my sleep. I’m an Apple Watch user but currently I don’t even use my watch for calls/messages. I actually have that function disabled entirely.

I went with the 265s for the price and the size on my wrist (was worried going to a full size would be a drastic difference and feel too bulky, plus I’m frugal)

So; what do you think? Will this watch suit my needs? Was it worth the money? It gets delivered tomorrow so I haven’t even laid eyes on it yet!

For context I’m going through a divorce and this whole process is really difficult. Moving out of my first home, back to single apartment living. Trying to stay optimistic. Struggling to decide which is the better option here. I’m a woman in my early 30s, I do have a car so walkability not a deal breaker but desirable.

Price is a negligible difference so not a factor

Apartment 1

Pros: cleaner, more updated kitchen/cozy, wood floors, lots of sunlight, desirable location in the middle of town, walkable

Cons: much smaller than #2, shared laundry in basement, 2nd level (private fire escape entrance), limited parking

Apartment 2

Pros: laundry in unit, larger overall, large private parking lot, shared yard space, 1st floor

Cons: much more outdated, rough around the edges, darker/not a lot of sunlight, mostly carpeted, farther outside of town (only by ~1/2 mile) but no sidewalks and in a busy road so not as walkable.

Am I crazy for considering the cozier apt despite it being significantly smaller and no in unit laundry? It’s been a while since I’ve lived in an apartment and I’ve never had to share laundry before. I know decorating can help with #2, but it can only do so much with what I have to work with lol.

Lmk your thoughts! WWYD?

I have an employee who is chronically late. When I run an audit trail report it shows some weird activity. This employee does not have supervisor permissions, must be within geofence to clock in, and should not be able to edit or correct her own punches without approval.

I am watching her pull into the parking lot at 10:02, but somehow she is changing her punch time to 9:59. Paylocity keeps telling me this is not an issue on their end and that our “clocks must be off”. I have verified our security cameras match the universal clock as well as Paylocity. And, like I said, I am watching her physically pull into the parking lot at 10:02 (not within geofence) but somehow there is activity showing she changed her punch time to 9:59. This has happened countless times where she is changing her punch time anywhere from 2-7 mins earlier than she actually enters the geofence.

How could she possibly be doing this??

Edit to add: wow! I underestimated the leaps and bounds of assumptions and accusations that would be made on a payroll subreddit. I wasn’t looking for managerial advice, or to be diagnosed with ADHD/OCD. Simply was looking to see if anyone here had insight on how to interpret the audit trail or if there were known workarounds or glitches that could cause this. Thanks to those who gave genuine advice, I will certainly not ask a question around here again 😂
