Brief explanation. 

 
In chapter 18 of Remake the party enter a portal solidified by Aerith. They are now in the singularlity where they eventually kill the harbinger of fate, basically splitting the timelines in two. The first timeline is the one where everyone is alive but Zack, and the second is the one where everyone other than Zack and Cloud are dead (as seen in the Rebirth trailer). Potentially I think by praying Aerith can travel between these in a dreamlike state. Hence why in the newest Rebirth trailer Marlene says to Zack when she wakes up Sephiroth will kill her. Nomura (the director of Rebirth) has confirmed in an interview (show proof) that FF7 Rebirth will end at the forgotten capital so that is what I will base my theory on. One other thing is that I predict that through the story Sephiroth will really mess with Cloud’s mind, getting him to eventually think that Tifa died and that the ‘Tifa’ travelling with them now is really Jenova. Late in the game Cloud will confront ‘Tifa’ about this in a boss fight and the arc would end with Cloud’s psyche being fixed slightly after Tifa convinces him she’s real. One last speculation is that I think Before Crisis will be weaved intricately into the side quests of the story, with characters like the old Turks and even Verdot appearing at crucial moments. 

 

Chapter 1: Calm Before the Storm 

 

 The start of the game will be Cloud and Zack trekking through the wasteland until the camera pans to the current party in the Kalm in. Later in this chapter you will play through the Nibelheim flashback and then the debate about whether Cloud’s memories are entirely truthful will occur. You will fight the Materia Keeper in this segment of the game. Nothing too different from the original and I think the piano minigame will be incorporated as early as in this chapter. You will also meet Broden, an anti-shinra inn owner suffering from degradation. 

 
Chapter 2: Brethren 

 

Brethren will follow Zack and Cloud’s journey to Midgar and create more mysteries about the whispers and how Zack survived his fate. 

 

Chapter 3: On Our Way 

 

This chapter is where the game really opens up and it’s the longest chapter of the game. The main party has access to the ‘open world’ available in Rebirth. They will have to catch Chocobos with the help of Billy, a new side character and his sister Chloe. Chadley will also help you explore the map with his new Ubisoft-esque towers. In this chapteryou’ll also learn about the new card game Queen’s Blood. Loads of new side quests involving specific characters will also be available now such as ones with Red and Aerith (show pictures / video). At the end of this chapter, we explore the mythril mines and Barret and Red have a boss fight while Aerith Tifa and Cloud meet Elena the new Turk’s member.  

 

Chapter 4: Reunion 

 

Zack and Cloud getting to Midgar and sector 7 and meeting Marle, Kyrie and Biggs. (Show trailers) 

 

Chapter 5: Hollow Pursuits 

 

Zack has convinced Biggs to track down Aerith. He goes to her church and calls her name but the only people in there are the ones who are seeking refuge after the plate falls. Aerith isn’t there as she’s currently dead in this timeline. 

 

Chapter 6: A New Era 

 

In Lower Junon you will meet the mayor Rhonda who is also conveniently anti-shinra. In Lower Junon you will meet Pricilla in need of help and later save Yuffie from Bottomswell. After this you will take a ride on Mr. Dolphin up to Upper Junon and take part in the parade for Rufus Shinra’s ‘new era’ as president. I believe in this chapter you will also meet Doctor Sheihan and he will talk about cellular degradations in soldiers with you. Outside his shelter you will fight the monstrous Midgar Zolom too. 

 
Chapter 7: The Unknown Journey 

 
This chapter will track the party's voyage on the ship from Junon to Costa Del Sol and their beach adventures. Aboard the ship Cloud will discover Yuffie’s past with Sonon while helping her with her sea sickness, after doing so Jenova Birth will appear to Yuffie in the form of Nero and then the boss fight will ensue. Fingers crossed for beach Hojo this time. After talking to Hojo, you will travel to Mount Corel where you will do some exploration minigames until you reach Corel town. 

 

Chapter 8: Valley of the Fallen 

 

This chapter will track Barret's story as he recalls his history with Dyne (Marlene’s biological father). This obviously ends in Dyne falling off a cliff in a valley. Get it? After this you will board the tram ready for the next chapter 

 

Chapter 9: Fortune and Fate 

 

This chapter will track the party’s exploration of the Gold Saucer, my personal favorite part of the game. You will see many returning places like the ghost hotel and the chocoboracing. Cloud will also meet Madame M and Andrea again to much delight, it seems the girls are dancing too this time. A lot of minigames will also make a return such as G-bikeand boxing. New minigames look to also be added such as the piano minigame, Queen’s Blood card game and what looks like a fight between Dio and Cloud!?  

 

Chapter 10: The Sands of Time 

 

After beating Dio, he will grant you with the buggy that allows you to get to the Gongaga area. Here there will be a Scarlett fight and a Reno + Rude fight. I also think that Cloud’s memories will fizz out a bit when Zack’s parents mention him. In Cosmo Canyon Bugenhagen will explain the situation of the planets life to Cloud and Cloud and Red will go on an adventure to discover his past.

Do you think Matty shaves his arms? I was watching his interview with Josh Citarella and noticed his arms are so smooth. I’m always afraid to shave my arms as a man so it would be some consolation if he does

Personally, I’m thinking it will be a critique on modern internet culture and religion through the lens of critical theorists like Fisher and Whitman.

I hope the band also have a little commentary on Parasocial relationships and rabbit holes. ;)
