Fare checkers on BART :)

First time I’ve ever been fare checked on BART!

I’m 100% in favor of enforcement of fare collection and citing fare evaders. I paid with a credit card, so his scanner just checked to see if my card was used at the gate today. Took 2 seconds. Zero fare evaders in this car, btw.

Everyone’s fare was checked, so no random enforcement. Three of them walked the length of the train- Yellow Line from Union City to Richmond.

After having a dude walk car-to-car with a lit blunt earlier this week, I’d love to have more BART police presence. I think one of the keys to having BART be a viable service is that riders feel safe and facilities are cleanish.

No Metro Access

Since we all love the DMV I find it strange that two of the three major airports have metro access except BWI.

Before Covid the Bus B30 used to travel between the Greenbelt station and the airport but it stopped running and all signage is gone.

I work for a private bus company that serves the airport and get questions about the missing service.

I know MDOT and MTA are revenue hogs and don’t share nothing but I thought it was about customer service but I guess the bottom line is what it is.

Any discussion on adding the service back? Thanks 🙏
