How’s she look?
There’s still some fabrication and installation of the engine, brakes, gas, etc to do. But I couldn’t resist putting the wheels on to see how she looks.

I got my tires, rim, hubs, spindles, and bushings as a kit. But they don’t seem to fit quite right. Can I trim the bushing a bit? Or do I need a longer spindle? There’s going to be about 1/2” between the spindle control part and the rim if I trim it. Also, are these super thin bushings supposed to go into the spindles? Thanks in advance
I’m just wondering what else ya’ll are making with your amateur set ups? I have a two burner, 12” long Amazon forge, all of the hand and power tools for stock removal, welder, anvil, etc…
Is anyone doing anything different like art? Or making other tools? Bottle openers? Slim Jim’s? Wrought iron fire pokers? Key chains?
Basically, I’m hoping to find ways to use the equipment for students who might not want to make knives. Any ideas?
I’ve got two stop collars rusted on an axel. The set screws are out, there is no key, and I’ve been hitting it with WD-40 for a couple days with no luck. Today I mixed up some ATF and acetone to hopefully penetrate the rust over night. Everything spins and I can even move the flange, but can’t get the axel to move laterally. Next I’m going to give it some heat I guess.
Any suggestions??
