Is this because of how he is sitting or a problem?
See pictures, first for how open, 2 position and opening and 3 just for position

He started eating the second we were home. I hope it stays that way when the stuff from being under wears off.
The tooth is out, he survived surgery. Now he needs to get through the healing period and his sinus inflammation needs to go away.
Picture 2&3 for seeing what it costs to have a tooth removed (and his ear checked because he started tilting his head 2 days before surgery - they found inflammation in one of his sinuses. Pretty bad inflammation, with bone involved, but the antibiotic should help with it. His head may stay tilted forever though.)
So here is 2 pictures of his better days to remember him by! Goodbye Mudcrab. RIP
Read on if you want to or leave it at this.
He was so old he was compelety bald on his butt and lived for a whole year after maturing.
But trying to molt again got him. He got his butt out and half his head. When I found him he was already gone.
Now I am sitting here crying over a tiny blue spider and feeling like I failed him because he was dead when I found him. Like he suffered becsuse I did not search for him when he was not out and about yesterday. Like I could have helped or at least ended his suffering instead of slowly dying stuck in an old molt... 😭
At least he got his hairy butt back before dying. He did not want to die bald I guess.
My sister wanted it relocated. Spiderbro then did not want to leave my hand.
A cute Marpissa mucosa :D
I found out my MTU pupated but only when I searched for it underground and I do not know what way up the chamber was underground!
Do I have to get it out and make it one (how, I dont have plant foam)? Do I have to (vers carefully) poke a hole to see inside? Will it turn around by itself? Do they pupate horizontally or at an angle?
Everyone tells me the food bowl needs to be further up but my gecko will completely ignore it there.
So I placed it on the ground and suddenly Maple eats.
Do any of your geckos only eat at ground level too? Only reason I can see is that fruit would fall to the ground on the wild so fruity food is searched for and eaten at the ground?
Die beiden sind mir beim Spaziergang am Waldrand begegnet. Einer mitten auf dem Weg und für den zweiten war ich eine Zwischenlandestation.
It will cost 1000-1500€ and I only have about 1000€ before I have to worry about my own food and stuff. So I made a gofundme. If you want to give something towards Kobolds medical care I will be happy.
If it is outside of gofundme you can always write me a message.
My 4 years old piggy "Kobold" has a megadont with some splintered off parts.
For treatment 3D imaging is needed, xray is not enough. This alone will be 420€, then tooth extraction on top plus medication and recheck after this...
And everybody tells me to "just put him to sleep". But I do not want to kill an otherwise perfectly healthy guineapig for mobey reason. I do have the money. I make 2200 a month (that is after taxes and health insurance, what I really get) and need about 1000 to 1200 for rent, energy, food etc. If I do not even try to safe money I still have 400-500 a month left for savings. Why would I not pay 500- 1k for him?! It just means no takeout and no "oh pretty lets buy it" for a month.
Why would I have to kill my fluffy little Kobold for this?! Just because "a new one only costs 20-60€" or "he is 4 already, if he was one...."
The vet thinks it's possible. He is in pain from thr splibtered off parts if not done. Otherwise the tooth would be shortened each month and nothing more but he needs pain meds every day until surgery.
Am I really that stupid or does anyone understand?
Or is this guy too fat or too thin? I got sent thus picture with the question and am not sure. I only have mourning geckos and one crested myself...
He does have branches and hides but likes this corner. If the weight is good or too much he will also be moved to an 18x18x36 in about 1-2weeks. This (12×12×18) is a temporary enclosure he was in to see if he is healthy.(And to get some poop for the vet that has no dirt on it)
To me gargs always look like they need water but it's just because of the "horns".
Thanks!
